As a ghoul, Xu Yan despised nothing more than having her dinner interrupted. It instantly soured her mood.
As she spoke, the officer switched on his flashlight, the beam illuminating the blood-soaked carnage.
He immediately radioed in, “This is Baida Plaza, Seventh Street. We’ve got a homicide! Suspicious female at the scene—requesting backup, now!”
He barely finished before drawing his sidearm and aiming it at Xu Yan, barking, “Hands up! Don’t move!”
“I really hate it when people interrupt my dinner~ So…”
Xu Yan wiped a bloodstained finger across her lips, then fixed the officer with a chilling gaze. “Do me a favor and just die for me, will you~?”
As the words left her mouth, a blood-red, scorpion-like tail burst forth from her back.
“Shit! An Anomaly!”

“Ah!”
Gunshots rang out, blending with the officer’s agonized screams…
