Chapter 2962: Rapid Adoption

Soon enough, the entirety of human civilization got to work.

With satellite technology offering to restore human communication to not just what it was before but also to vastly greater heights, all human leaders immediately invested a lot of capital into converting existing communication infrastructure into something that was compatible with the satellites.

When the Esoterist informed them that it was possible to spread this technology across the common masses, given how ubiquitous this technology was, they leaped into action, streamlining and prioritizing the technological transformation.

Thankfully, the entire world had had experience with this once before, with their siege technological transformation and the Esoterist's enhanced designs. Thus, things proceeded smoothly this time.

The Bradt-Kandria Seafaring Enterprise took on the responsibility of shipping things from Esocline Federation to the rest of the world. It had become nothing short of the circulatory system of human civilization in the modern era as they were the only ones who were able to ship large and massive shipments around the world despite the Beast Incursion.

The Kandrian Empire had dedicated a dozen Martial Masters to the sole task of shipping through land from the seaports deeper inland. After all, seafaring could only directly connect ports with other ports. Shipping needed protection from the Beast Incursion when it entered land. The Kandrian Martial Masters were the reason that trade could happen with nations deep inland through the Beast Incursion. It gave the Kandrian Empire an enormous amount of leverage over the rest of the world, making the Emperor of Harmony the de facto leader of the world even before the Kandrian Empire began producing and launching its own satellites.

While the rest of the world desperately rationed their Martial Masters carefully, the Kandrian Empire, with a whopping five hundred and seventy-three Martial Masters at its disposal, could get away with dedicating large numbers of Martial Masters to other purposes.

It had enough Martial Masters to defend four Sage-level powerhouses.

Once the World Bridge had become known to the rest of the world, the prospects of the Kandrian Empire coming to rescue the other nations in their time of need had also become a notion. Of course, with the Sekigahara Confederate, it had come too late, but that was precisely because communications through humanity were sabotaged.

Now, with the satellite communication technology being rapidly adopted by the entire world, the Kandrian Empire could learn of a catastrophe almost instantaneously and prepare a deep strike reinforcement force to protect any given nation from destruction.

Of course, this would not come free of cost.

Each such catastrophe was a sign of a failure on the part of the nations in question. They would need to make heavy concession and corrections to be eligible for aid from the Kandrian Empire.

The Emperor of Harmony was aware that this policy would not look good, but had deemed it more important to make sure that these nations did not grow psychologically dependent on the Kandrian Empire and kept their defenses. The last thing he wanted was for them to lose their sense of severity and grow relaxed.

Regardless, the conversion from old communication technology to new communication technology was slow and rigorous.

It was also effective.

From the very moment the first comms artifact had undergone the changes to hardware and their elementary programming to allow them to send and receive signals from the distant satellites, communications around the globe increasingly began to be restored.

What was especially stunning to all of them was the fact that despite the low-grade quality of some of the communication devices begin converted, it was still able to effortless send messages across the entirety of the continent and beyond. The reason this was so revolutionary was that, in the past, the distance of communication was directly proportional to quality of esoteric substances. Now however, even the most mediocre of instruments could deploy messages around the world at remarkably high speeds.

More shockingly, the bandwidth of communication had begun to increase substantially, dwarfing even previous highs before the Beast Incursion had commenced. Satellites were completely revolutionizing communication systems in a way that no one could have ever imagined in the past.

The Kandrian Empire aggressively embraced satellite technology, taking the technology from the Esoterist and producing their own satellites that could be deployed into space, allowing them to create their own communication network that the rest of the world had no option but to rely on.

Under normal circumstances, the national security risks to these nations that came with using a means of communication in the hands of another nation were too high. But in the Era of Darkness, they had no choice but to simply go ahead with the arrangements, lest they get left behind and swallowed up by the Beast Incursion.

What was especially useful about satellites was that they could be used not just for communication, but also for surveillance. It wasn't long before human civilization was able to start imaging the entire continent. This gave them access to a much larger flush of data regarding the esoterified continent and, with the expertise of the Ecologer, allowed them to gain more insights into the threats that they were dealing with. They could coordinate their forces with each other in a more effective and efficient manner.

On top of that, the ambushes slowly became easier to spot with the satellite surveillance, allowing human civilization to handle and react to them better. With each passing month since the Esoterist disclosed the invention of satellites, an increasing amount of flux coursed through the continent at an unnatural speed.

A nascent web began to form.

A world wide web.

One that wasn't exclusively limited to the elites of the nations but was soon to reach even the common man and allow the entire world to connect with the rest of the world. A wonderful meeting of people over the world wide web that many speculate would bond people together and make everybody come together in a wholesome union of all of human civilization. -
