Chapter 1322

Chapter 1322: Half-Step Demon King Realm

You Yue burst into Su Jingzhen’s room, still clad in heavy armor, her urgency sending his heart racing.

Something monumental must have shifted with the Demon Warrior Legion to spur such impulsiveness.

Recalling their Ninth Stage Demon General Realm strength, a staggering possibility struck him—had they breached the Demon King Realm? If so, the legion’s legend might eclipse even his own feats.

“Wife, has it happened?” he asked, voice tight with anticipation.

You Yue nodded, eyes alight with excitement. “It’s hard to explain—there’s been a massive leap, though not quite what you might think. Come see for yourself.”

She seized his hand and tugged him out.

But as she drew near, she froze.

“Husband, another breakthrough? Eighth Stage of the Demon Marquis Realm?”

Disbelief flooded her gaze. How had he surged so far, so fast, after just entering the Demon Marquis Realm?

Su Jingzhen smiled, nodding.

“Days of seclusion, plus the unspent energy from recent battles.”

The chaos of Demon Battle City provided a perfect alibi for his gains.

You Yue’s eyes sparkled.

Two minor realms in six days stunned her, yet Su Jingzhen’s miracles had dulled her surprise.

She quickly pulled him toward the Divine Flame Family’s training grounds, where countless core disciples—including dozens of high-level Demon General Realm experts—already thronged.

Su Jingzhen marveled inwardly at the monster You Yue had forged to draw such a crowd.

Only the Fire Pupil Demon King’s arrival could rival this turnout.

“It’s lively,” he muttered.

Their entrance stole the spotlight.

“Isn’t this a test of the Demon Warrior Legion? Why bring Su Jingzhen? I heard he’s grand commander in name only. He barely lifts a finger.”

“Name or not, as grand commander, he belongs here for this.”

“Two thousand five hundred souls, not even death warriors, their wills fused as one—You Yue’s a marvel.”

Amid the buzz, You Yue led him to the legion’s heart, standing side by side.

The Demon Warrior Legion gazed at them with burning reverence.

Across the grounds, Su Jingzhen spotted Lie Shan, his half-step Demon King Realm aura unfurled, a palpable weight in the air.

His pulse quickened—he suspected the purpose.

“Wife, is their opponent… Elder Lie Shan?” he asked, stunned.

You Yue nodded, brimming with confidence.

“The Divine Flame Family overflows with elite fighters. I’ve added a hundred talents, ranging from Demon Spirit Realm to Demon Marquis Realm, all exceptional. They meshed with the legion in under five days. We’ve surpassed the Ninth Stage Demon General Realm—how far, this test will reveal.”

As she briefed him, she barked commands.

Instantly, the legion’s killing intent erupted. A ferocious dragon of slaughter coalesced above, its Ninth Stage Demon General Realm aura swelling.

When it roared, a wave of dread gripped the Divine Flame disciples.

“This can’t just be Ninth Stage Demon General Realm!”

“The Demon Warrior Legion—I’d heard tales, but this power could dominate the central region’s trials!”

The dragon’s mere presence unnerved many. Lie Shan, facing them, grew solemn.

“Remarkable. If another faction had claimed them first, we’d have lost a treasure,” he murmured.

Golden flames blazed from him—he was taking this seriously.

“Elder Lie Shan, don’t hold back,”

Huo Yang called from the square’s edge, her voice thrumming with excitement.

“Lose to my legion, and the embarrassment will sting.”

She’d scouted recruits with You Yue, watching the legion’s ascent firsthand.

Lie Shan smiled faintly, a thick flame shield encasing him—a sign of his resolve.

You Yue didn’t hesitate, issuing another order. The killing intent dragon bellowed, hurling a terrifying energy sphere at Lie Shan.

Its might chilled every Demon General Realm cultivator present.

“That sphere could turn me to ash!”

“Half-step Demon King Realm, at least!”

As the crowd gaped, the sphere struck. Lie Shan’s flame shield shattered instantly.

A fiery phoenix surged from him—the same technique he’d used against the Soul Devourer at the Heaven Slaying Demon Sect—but it too was obliterated.

After two defenses, the sphere’s force waned and dissolved. Lie Shan staggered back hundreds of steps, the exchange hinting at the victor.

Yet it was only the opening move. The dragon charged, its massive tail whipping toward Lie Shan with world-rending force.

“Such relentless killing intent!”

Lie Shan’s expression hardened. A flash of light revealed a black sword in his grip—the Star-Shattering Blade, its aura dwarfing Demon General Realm weapons.

“He’s already using the Star-Shattering Blade?”

“If he keeps holding back, this will end fast.”

Without pause, Lie Shan swung, meeting the dragon’s tail.

An explosive clash erupted, shockwaves rippling outward. Dozens of Demon General Realm experts scrambled to erect a barrier, barely containing the fallout. When the blinding light faded, the dragon loomed undimmed.

Lie Shan, flung back hundreds more feet, wavered, blood trickling from his mouth.
