Chapter 4: The Royal Palace |
While Anna and Harry were bonding, many things were happening inside the royal palace like always.
The Royal Palace was one of the calmest and serene places in the Continent of Mistri
At least, to an outsider, it might seem like that.
But truly deep inside?
This was one of the most chaotic places in the entire continent, filled with schemes, power struggles, illicit relationships and much more...
The Royal Palace and the Kingdom, in general, had a well-built structure of hierarchy, and anybody who threatens it will be finished off by 'their' devils in the background,
The King, Lust Vincias The Third, stood at the very top.
He had no competition nor restraints that could truly and completely bind him.
In the kingdom, and the continent itself!
There were 5 Stages to any and all abilities, or rather as the natives call them, gifts.
For example, water control,
It may begin as an ability that can only control ordinary water in a single cup at best
Then at stage 2, it will be able to control a much larger amount of water
At stage 3, you will be able to control almost anything with high water content, like blood, you could control the blood of others and you could easily kill them if they had no countermeasures,
At stage 4, you could probably control rivers by yourself, and change their course.
and also control water vapours in the air and perform rather miraculous godlike things, For example, drain a state of its water content
At stage 5, you can control literal parts of a sea and then even have complete control of the water element and call yourself its sovereign,
and the king was at this stage of his ability, which was not water control by the way,
The stage after stage 5 is the mysterious Stage of Awakening.
Which still stays a mystery due to no one having ever really reached it completely.

Rather than saying it as different stages of the same ability, it is better if it is described as different stages of understanding their own ability
The more you understand and use your ability, the more you will get closer to the next stage
That means, even when the ability is just born at the age of 15 if you have a complete understanding of it, you can go through the process of Awakening.
and it also means that Harry can't receive a stage 5 ability by having intercourse with a stage 5 person, he can always only receive its base stage strength.
But,
that also means his Lustful Absorption was also just at the base stage and had more potential for growth, and he might unlock more of this ability's mysteries as he uses it more.
After the King, the person with the most authority was The Queen, The King's Main Wife.
Queen Emilia Lust Vincias.
She had her private army and she too was a 5th Stage Gifted. and with her strong Offensive oriented 'great' ability, she was a monster on the battlefield.
after the Queen, the next tier of Authority was in the hands of The King's thirteen Concubines and Ministers. The most amounts of power struggles and chaos are seen happening around this tier inside the castle
Then, in the next tier, stood the princes and princesses. The sons and daughters of the King.
And hopefully, His heir after death will be one of them.
After that, there is a bunch of subordinate ranks like The Grand Knight, Head Maid or simple maids and knights...it went on until it reached Slaves and prisoners.
And how were they, the Royal Family, capable of ruling this world filled with gifted ability users?
Simple
Unlike those ordinary ability users, the royal family had three GREAT Abilities that had been with them throughout the generations.
In every generation, Only one person can have an ability, no similar ability will be on any other person,
For example, Anna's *Exceptional Senses* was an ability that improved all the bodily senses at stage 1, this was an ability only meant for her.
no one else will have it.
Ever. unless she died.
And among all these billions of abilities, three abilities stood out with no opponents other than each other in the aspect of their intricacy,
These three abilities were so strong, that if it was used well, they could fight with other stage 1 abilities which are used moderately well when they were only at the base level And when they reached stage 5? they become invincible in that generation... as by that time, anyone would be an expert at the art of controlling their abilities and with one of the three Great abilities under their full control, how can they not be Monsters?
With all three of these abilities being born from a single family, The Lust Family, The Royals were easily able to conquer the lands with time and effort, ending up owning the entire continent of Mystri under their rule
As for this generation's people who hold those abilities?
One was the King.
The other was the Queen and the King's younger sister.
The third Great Ability Holder was the King's Daughter born with his seventh concubine Harry's mother, Emma Lust Vincias.
Yes, the third Gifted with that unparalleled ability was Harry's Sister, Lilly, Lilly Lust Vincias.
And of course, He didn't know that. Yet.

Royal Palace. In the bed-chambers of one of the King's seven Concubines.
The concubine was sitting on her bed, alone and calm,
When suddenly a man appeared out of nowhere inside her bed-chamber without anyone's notice,
He appeared completely out of nowhere
Like an invisible creature suddenly turning visible
It was a startling thing.
Yet, The concubine didn't seem startled at all and seemed rather used to this.
This fact alone could have got her killed a thousand times.
No matter what, Having an unknown man visiting the Royal Concubine's bed-chamber was more than just treason,
It was the same as giving the king a green hat!
He will kill her without any other thoughts, Even one of his 13 concubines, if he ever came to know,
Yet, She didn't care for that and asked. "Did You kill that Blasphemous child?"
Bowing his head in endless shame and indignation. The Man Replied "I had seen him dead at first, Mistress. but after dying or seemingly dying by consuming that tasteless poison, the guy woke up after two to three hours with seemingly no injuries or lethargy...
I assume and am afraid, the Blasphemous child has already come to know of his abilities, now he will be even harder to deal with..."
He was filled with shame.
He just had to kill an unknowing youth, And he failed at that simple task. He wanted to dig a hole and crawl in there...Never coming out!
Listening to him, The Unknown Concubine's heart skipped a beat. She was afraid, afraid of the repercussions if that Blasphemous child ever became as good as he could be-
But then thinking about it, She had no reason to fear
The guy probably didn't even know he was poisoned, Not to mention who poisoned him.
As for killing him? if she got another chance, she could do it again.
It was easy, with this guy as her helper.
Thinking of it, her eyes shined for a moment and said. "Just keep an eye on him for now, and don't be obvious, If he ever tries to catch you,
Like ever,
suicide immediately" Her tone was strict and cold, Even the floor was covered by a thin layer of ice as her voice resounded
And hearing it, the mysterious assassin nodded and said, "Yes" before vanishing, like the air he came in and like the air he left.
He knew just how intelligent the lady was, he didn't have to give his opinions, only information was required
In scheming, even imperial ministers will have to bow to her, she was that great of a monster in the art of deception and schemes.
Yet, not even the King knew of this scheming fox roaming his backyard...
She truly was a mysterious enemy for all loyal to this kingdom... that one might wonder, just who was this woman?
