The Bee-stiary |
Worker Types
Type | Role | Appearance | Notable Members |
Monster Bee Worker | The workers! What don’t they do? Gather nectar and pollen, make honey and bee bread, build hives, take care of brood, sting enemies, remember things for King. If it needs doing, they do it! | Looks like a honeybee worker, maybe just a bit bigger! |
|
Monster Bee Communer | Communications! They extend the queen and hive’s mana to reach out to distant members of the hive! They also make it easier for the queen to look through her children’s senses. | The same size and shape as a worker, but with extra fuzzy antennae, like a moth’s. Their eyes and antennae glow when they connect to the hive.
Monster Bee Gardener | Take care of plants! They can analyze a plant’s mana and determine its health. They are also exceptionally good at pollination, and with perks can even plant seeds directly! | Around bumblebee size, they are fuzzier and have larger pollen baskets for better pollen gathering, longer tongues for nectar drinking, bigger mandibles for digging and trimming, and fuzzy antennae attuned to plant mana. | Frelis |
Monster Bee Honeypot | Honey, honey, and more honey! And wax and propolis and whatever else the hive needs! These bees take in raw nectar and pollen and process it faster, better, and more efficiently than any other! | Big, the size of a queen when newly born, they have a round, enlarged abdomen with pits to hold honey or other products that need evaporating/drying.
Monster Bee Broodmother | Mini-queens! Workers who can reproduce, they allow a single queen’s hive to scale up beyond the queen’s own limits. They lack the queen’s ability to command the hive, however. | Looks like a honeybee queen, maybe a bit larger. Smaller than a fully grown monster bee queen.
Monster Bee Dancer | An evolution of communers, they not only extend the hive’s mana, but direct it, using it to give buffs to other bees as needed. | Look largely like communers, but bigger.
Monster Bee Minister | Mini-queens, leadership edition! Workers that can sense and command their sisters, they extend the queen’s reach by helping her manage the hive. They can also use hive-wide buffs to strengthen everyone! | Around the size of a queen, but worker shaped. They have extra-fuzzy antennae like a communer, but this time their entire body glows with mana. | Fourth of the Seventh’s First Minister |

Has a big claw instead of a stinger, as well as mantis blade claws on the front legs. Has larger wings. Their chitin is the same thickness as a lancer’s, so appears thinner given their larger size.
