Chapter 65

Within Isos’s sea of consciousness, starlight flowed.

Irlton Aiven clicked his tongue in amazement as he looked at Isos and Kyle Aiven.

“Incredible! Such a miraculous talent has never been recorded in the family’s ten-thousand-year history!”

Irlton was not angry that Kyle had concealed matters from these old fellows. Instead, he was far more interested in Isos’s uniqueness.

In Irlton’s eyes, cooperating with a paladin was hardly worth mentioning. At most, it was an opportunity to give Kyle a reminder—that nothing was ever truly flawless.

As long as someone was determined, there would always be loopholes!

If he planned to accomplish any “grand undertaking” in the future, he should at least inform these old fellows. That way, if something went wrong, they would have time to cover for him.

At this moment, Kyle truly felt like a wealthy young master who could cause trouble and have his elders casually wave a hand to resolve it.

Sigh… hopefully he would not one day become a cautionary tale—failing at entrepreneurship and returning home only to inherit a vast fortune…

“Since you can appear in this manner, I won’t interfere in your affairs anymore. You should attend the auction yourself. I won’t meet that paladin either—just mind yourself.”

“However, your true body is currently in the family’s ancestral land, so there’s little for us to worry about. But remember, we are dark creatures. The gap between us and normal living beings will always exist. In all things, be more cautious!”

“I understand, Great Ancestor Irlton! I won’t let you or the family down!”

Facing his great ancestor’s earnest advice, Kyle answered solemnly.

“Haha! Good! You are already our pride—the glory of the Aiven family!” Irlton laughed heartily.

He then turned to Alvaro and teased, “Alvaro, take me back to the family. I won’t stay here playing house with you youngsters.”

“Yes, Elder.”

“—Wait!”

Irlton hurriedly stopped him again.

He had suddenly remembered the clan gathering!

“Tell me—do you have a way to awaken within a year?” Irlton’s expression turned serious.

Kyle was momentarily stunned by the abrupt question but quickly reacted.

“Is there something urgent that requires me to appear?”

“Stop the nonsense. Just tell me if you can!”

“Uh… it’s possible, but I can’t guarantee it one hundred percent.”

“What help do you need? Just say it. As long as you wake within a year, that’s enough!”

Irlton grew somewhat impatient. An opportunity to show off could not be missed!

“Is there a method to rapidly enhance my spiritual power? Temporary enhancement would also suffice—but it must last at least until I finish organizing my spiritual sea.”

Kyle stated his need.

“Enhancing spiritual power?”

Irlton pondered.

“Spirit potions only provide short-term enhancement and cannot be consumed long-term. Then the only option is a spiritual amplification array!”

“I’ll return at once to set up a spiritual array for you! Alvaro, we—”

“Great Ancestor,” Kyle could not help interrupting, “Shouldn’t you at least tell me what I need to awaken for?”

He disliked half-spoken hints, especially when he still couldn’t fully control his own talent. Such matters would drive him to obsessive distraction!

“Oh, oh—take you to attend the centennial Blood race gathering! Let our Aiven family gain some prestige!”

“Hmm? A Blood race gathering?!”

Kyle felt his composure slipping…

“Well… Great Ancestor… I’m only 140 years old. I’m still far from adulthood… there’s no need to attend matchmaking so early, right…”

Of course he knew of this Blood race gathering. It was a grand event spanning dozens of surrounding continents, attended by the top pureblood families.

The purpose was simple: Find partners for their younger generation!

“It doesn’t matter if you don’t choose anyone. Just show your face and get acquainted. At the very least, let those old fellows know—if they have good daughters at home, they’d better reserve them for you!”

Irlton had no doubt that once those old fellows saw Kyle, they would desperately promote their outstanding juniors.

The superior bloodline of the Blood race could be inherited. Even if the elders’ talents were not fully passed down, the offspring would still be Legendary beings!

Moreover, the Blood race had never adhered to monogamy. With sufficient strength, whether male or female, having multiple partners was hardly an issue!

Kyle’s exceptional bloodline, talent, and outrageous strength—those old fellows would drool over him!

Seeing that his elder had already made up his mind, Kyle was helpless. He couldn’t very well refuse his great ancestor outright.

Sigh… I suddenly regretted coming to see him.

Taking Kyle’s silence as tacit agreement, Irlton immediately urged Alvaro along.

Alvaro cast a sympathetic glance at his boss before escorting Irlton back to the family.

A long while later~

Seeing that Kyle remained motionless within his sea of consciousness, Isos could not help asking softly,

“Boss, are you alright?”

“Don’t mind me…” Kyle’s consciousness carried a sense of utter despair.

“I want to be alone.”

“Oh, alright, Boss.”

After sleeping for a day, Baruk finally woke as the sun neared the horizon. He now sat in a specially enlarged chair, devouring food with gusto.

Servers moved in a steady line—one after another bringing large platters of delicacies, and one after another clearing away the empty dishes.

In the kitchen, Jack and more than a dozen other chefs were sweating profusely, spatulas flying, so busy their feet barely touched the ground.

Yet Jack showed no sign of fatigue. Instead, he was extraordinarily excited!

He was cooking for a super big shot!

This was something he could brag about for a lifetime!

Especially this Bearman elder—today’s betting boards had already made it clear: he was a hot candidate for the top three!

To cook for such a powerhouse—he would gladly pay out of pocket for the privilege!

Not to mention that he was currently earning a generous wage for the job!

If luck favored him and he could get this elder’s autograph, he might faint from happiness on the spot!

“Everyone, finish the dish in your hands and you can rest. The guest has completed his meal.”

The voice of the kitchen manager rang out.

“Come collect today’s wages.”

Jack carefully plated his dish, personally cleaned the utensils, and tidied his assigned area until it was spotless before quickly heading toward the manager.

The manager, Jim, greatly appreciated Jack’s meticulous attitude and often arranged good assignments for him whenever possible.

Unfortunately, the young man’s strength was too low to meet the formal chef standards of the restaurant.

After all, they were one of Coral Thorn City’s most prestigious establishments, serving only the most distinguished guests. Sometimes, chefs were even required to cook specialty dishes personally in front of guests.

If their strength was insufficient and they embarrassed themselves before a guest, it would severely damage the restaurant’s reputation.

“The guest was very satisfied with your dishes. You may continue serving him tomorrow. Remember to arrive early—the guest requires breakfast at six in the morning.”

“Got it! Thank you for the opportunity, Brother Jim!” Jack smoothly accepted his wages and, with practiced ease, slipped a silver coin into the manager’s hand.

Manager Jim just as smoothly pocketed the coin, nodded, and departed. He still needed to inspect Baruk’s after-dinner desserts.

They must ensure that this distinguished guest was fully satisfied!
