Chapter 2375: So you are alive because… the Multiverse hates me?

"So what I am trying to say is—

You should not exist."

Nux spoke with an absolutely serious look on his face and the Seer just laughed—

"You should be the last person saying that, Nux."

"..."

Nux didn’t know how he was supposed to counter it.

He... was a living Universe.

While that in itself was an Anomaly, that in itself made him different from other living beings, but even when compared to other Universes...

He was the only Universe that had an entirely different Concept of Time.

Even amongst the countless Universes, he... was an Anomaly.

A Multiversal Anomaly.

An existence even the Multiverse had decided to just... ignore.

He should be the last person to say the words he just said.

The Seer smiled when she saw his reaction, as if she knew exactly what he was thinking, but then, she explained—

"I only should not exist because you exist.

But in the eyes of the Multiverse, you do not exist.

Ending my existence would be accepting your existence, and the Multiverse would not do that."

"So you are alive because... the Multiverse hates me?"

Nux tilted his head and the Seer—

"In a certain sense, yes."

She laughed.

"..."

Nux didn’t know what he was supposed to say or feel.

He thought about it for a moment and then—

"But what about the changes my existence caused? The reason for your existence no longer exists, shouldn’t you... do something about it?

Is that why you asked for Vashti’s body from the Infinities in return for giving me to them?"

He asked with a curious look on his face and the Seer, she just shrugged.

"That’s the Multiverse’s problem to deal with.

As for asking for Vashti’s body, I only did that so those five do not doubt me. They would never trust me if I helped them without asking anything in return."

Nux looked at her with a deadpan look on his face.

"So from the start... all you really cared about was getting me surrounded by the Infinities so they could kill me the way you wanted them to and send me here huh..."

He muttered with an understanding look on his face but just then—

"Well..."

The Seer looked away, almost as if she was trying to avoid that topic. Nux noticed that and that made him narrow his eyes.

He moved and appeared where the Seer was looking, the woman looked away again and—

"You know you are being obvious, right? Almost purposefully so."

"I... do not wish to hide anything but I do not know how to say it either..."

The Seer answered with a hesitant look on her face.

"Say it."

But Nux was different.

The last thing he wanted right now was for the Seer to hide anything from him, she had already betrayed his trust once and the only way to win it back, if that was even possible in the first place, was to come clean.

The Seer knew that as well, this was the entire reason she made it so obvious instead of hiding it, but even then... it wasn’t an easy thing for her to explain.

"I said say it."

Nux spoke in an even colder tone and after a little more hesitation.

"Well..."

The Seer began.

"Having you killed the way you did... doesn’t automatically bring you here..."

"...what?"

Nux froze.

The Seer looked at him with more hesitance and—

"There are two conditions for a conscious thought to come here.

One is to die the way you died.

And the other...

Is to know and understand the existence of the Multiverse."

"But I... did not know about the Multiverse..."

Nux muttered with a confused frown and the Seer...

"Exactly."

She lowered her head and Nux’s eyes widened in surprise when he realized what she was trying to say.

"You didn’t know whether I’d be able to come here."

The Seer lowered her head even more and that was all Nux needed to know that what he said was correct.

This woman...

She truly had no way of knowing if he would actually be able to make it here, in fact, according to the rules, he should have never made it here in the first place!

He should have died!

He should have truly died!

"You actually planned on killing me..."

"No, I didn’t plan on killing you, I wanted to bring you her—"

"How!? How were you going to bring me here when I didn’t even properly know about the existence of the Multiverse let alone have an understanding of it!?"

"I... I made arrangements..."

The Seer answered in a low voice.

"Arrangements!? You gambled with my life! If you wanted to make arrangements, you should have come to me and told me about the Multiverse!"

He blurted out loud but the Seer just looked at him and—

"And then what? Asked you to die fighting against the Infinities? You would have done that? You would have left your wives and your children alone and come with a woman you don’t even properly know?"

"..."

Nux didn’t say anything.

After all, the answer to that question was obvious.

He would have never done that.

He would never have chosen a random woman over his wives, heck, he wouldn’t have chosen anyone over his wives.

For a moment, both Nux and the Seer stayed silent.

Then, after a while—

"I said it before, I will say it again.

I did what I had to do.

This was the only way."

"And what were these so-called arrangements you say you made...?"

Nux asked as he raised his eyebrow. The Seer looked at him for a moment, then asked a question.

"How did you come here?"

Nux thought about it for a moment, the empty dark space, that connection he felt with his swor—

His expression changed.

"The Bloodedge...?"

He asked.

And the Seer nodded.

"That is correct.

I gave you Bloodedge because it has the ability to connect two Universes as long as there is a medium.

I was hoping for the Bloodedge to sense me from wherever you were and connect you to the Multiverse."
