Chapter 969: Brink of Hesitation |
Once more, the onlookers were shocked and surprised. The strongest Sage of all time in Ayuvar might have managed to win against a New Spirit Lord Fighter Demon, but it would have been a brutal battle.
And yet, Black Sin Hammer 37 had won against an Early Spirit Lord Fighter Demon. It was the same kind of opponent, but an entire level higher.
This put the immensity of Kyle's Battle-Strength into perspective.
The average Lieutenant General could confidently defeat a Peak Sage Demon, but fighting a Peak Sage Fighter Demon would be a challenge. The most powerful Sage in history would experience similar difficulties, but with an added level. This was the difference between an average Lieutenant General and the most powerful Sage in history. This was a significant jump in power. The most powerful Sage could probably defeat five Lieutenant Generals at the same time.
Yet, the jump between the average Lieutenant General and the most powerful Sage was just as big as the jump between the most powerful Sage and Kyle. Most likely, Kyle could defeat five copies of the most powerful Sage of all time.
Sure enough, Kyle had done exactly what he had set out to do. He had completely destroyed the concept of realistic limits to one's Battle-Strength.
However, this was not the primary reason why the onlookers were shocked. After all, they had already gotten used to Kyle's unreasonable power.
What actually surprised them was Kyle's Imposing Law.
Imposing Laws, as their names suggested, were alien Laws that didn't originate from the world. They were self-created. Naturally, this also meant that the Energy acted in a different way.
80%.
He had created an Imposing Law that could use 80% of his maximum Energy.
In order to become a Fulfilled Spirit Lord, one only needed an Imposing Law with 50% quality. To become a Unique Spirit Lord, one also needed to have an Imposing Law that actually used 50% of one's Energy. The first was a theoretical power, while the other was a real power.
Kyle had increased both parts to 80%.
The absolute strongest sets of Rites only contained Imposing Laws that had a bit more than 50% quality. Some singular Rites contained Imposing Laws that reached 50% quality.
Yet, these Rites were the most powerful Rites Ayuvar had ever created. These had been created by the strongest and most dedicated Ascendants.
Black Sin Hammer 37 had created one with 80%, and he was a Sage.
Even in the Supreme World, one could rarely find an Ascendant who had pushed one's Imposing Law to this level. Spirit Lords with such powerful Imposing Laws essentially counted as myths and legends. Such a powerful Imposing Law could only realistically be found in the Universe Realm.
To put this even more into perspective, one of the biggest hurdles in the Fusion Realm was the requirement to become a Major Ascendant, which was the level after Four-Infused Ascendant. Becoming an Advanced Ascendant was mostly a formality. As long as a Major Ascendant fulfilled all the previous requirements in the intended way, they would definitely become an Advanced Ascendant. This made the hurdle in front of the Major Ascendant Realm the hardest, and it was also the hurdle that stopped most people.
The requirement was simple and straightforward.
Comprehend or create a Level Eight Law.
What Kyle had achieved by creating his Imposing Law was even rarer and more outstanding than comprehending a Level Eight Law. It didn't have the power of a Level Eight Law, but it was much harder to create.
This was the truly shocking part. Such an incredible Imposing Law also kept giving benefits in one's future journey. Compared to other Laws, increasing the level of an Imposing Law didn't take a lot of work. This meant the Imposing Law would grow with the Seeker.
The power of Kyle's Imposing Law wasn't only shown in his attacks but also in everything else. It increased his speed, gave him the power to break through hard defenses, gave him options and adaptability, and, as shown during the end of the battle, it also increased his defense.
The swords had attacked Kyle at full power. Kyle's physical body was weaker than his opponent's body by a considerable degree. He had received an all-out attack, launched with powerful weapons, with his chest. Even an adult boxer would be injured when a child stabbed them with a knife, even though the boxer's body was far stronger.
Finding out how Kyle had actually blocked the attack wasn't very difficult. He had used his Imposing Law with his strike, but only once. Since Kyle's Imposing Law allowed him to launch two strikes, Kyle had used the second strike to trigger the defensive aspect of his Imposing Law.
In short, he had used 80% of his Energy on the strike and the same 80% again to defend himself. The opponent had been powerful, but getting through 80% of Kyle's Energy with one attack was still very hard, especially since Kyle had so much Energy.
Overlord Stygian smiled as he watched Kyle.
Finally, the true brightness of Kyle's hidden aura was put on display.
All of his powers had been put on display. Not only was every aspect amazing by itself, but it also integrated beautifully into the overall picture.
When he moved, all six of his Laws became active. His body increased his speed. His External Law increased his speed, which was further strengthened by his Center. His Mind Law indirectly decreased the enemy's speed, and his Domain directly decreased the enemy's speed. Lastly, his Imposing Law also increased his speed. All six of Kyle's powers helped with speed.
The same thing was true whenever Kyle attacked, and it was also true when Kyle defended.
There was only one word to describe this set of Laws.
Perfect.
What Kyle had shown them was almost magical. It was like he was doing things that were realistically not possible. And yet, they could understand how Kyle had achieved this.
As the others watched, Kyle noticed that the Karmic Atmosphere had changed.
In the beginning, the mood had been serious, apathetic, and annoyed. Later, it became chaotic as it was filled with uncertainty and change.
Now, the mood could be described with the word hesitant. The people wanted to feel and do something, but they didn't truly dare to take the last step. They felt like this situation was different from all the previous times they had felt hope, but they had also thought that the previous times were different from the preceding times.
It was different, but what if it wasn't?
But it was!
But maybe not.
Believe or not?
"This is the moment," Kyle thought.
"This is what I've been waiting for."
