Chapter 852: From Bad to Worse

777 Four Ways

This teleportation couldn't be stopped. The reception halls didn't need to exist to facilitate teleportation. The absence of a baseball glove wouldn't stop the ball from being thrown. It would just land somewhere else, but not too far away.

'Good! Great! Amazing!' Kyle thought as his rage exploded. 'You want to be like this?! Fine!'

'Fuck all of you!'

Kyle conjured several spheres of azure fire around the reception halls.

BOOOOM!

All the reception halls exploded, and the Space Energy distorted.

Even if it wouldn't stop the teleportation, it would still delay the arrival of the people.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Then, all the other Teleportation Formation Arrays in the hall exploded in a haze of azure flames.

Everyone watched in horror.

"The Connection of Copperstone 47 can be reversed. This seems useless, but if you use this specific Rune, you can transform the Energy into…"

At that moment, the people who could have stopped the attacking Medium Crusher received a dense load of information about Formation Arrays via voice transmission.

None of them could make sense of this information, but that didn't matter.

Everyone looked at Azure Comet in shock. First, he had destroyed all the reception halls and Teleportation Formation Arrays, and then, he suddenly told them about how to construct Formation Arrays.

What was going on?

At that moment, Kyle sneered in disgust.

He had just shared what he had learned about Inner World's Formation Arrays with them.

Kyle saw a dense red burst of Karmic Luck hitting him.

His Sin Flames turned from red to black, and Kyle felt like he had lost something important.

He had broken his oath, and he had condensed a True Sin Aura.

The next moment, Kyle felt his surroundings warping.

As an irredeemable sinner, Kyle was not supposed to be in the Main Dimension.

He was supposed to be in the Hell Dimension.

However, before the Main Dimension completely rejected him, Kyle looked at the onlookers, who could have stopped the destruction of the Teleportation Formation Array.

The next moment, spheres of blue fire appeared before them.

Out of reflex, all of them took out their weapons and raised their defenses.

BOOOOM!

Clouds of gore turned into ash as the flames consumed them.

Naturally, the man, who had attacked the Teleportation Formation Array, wasn't spared.

He died without realizing what had happened.

As the azure flames lifted, Kyle's warping perception caught sight of one person. A survivor!

Broken pieces of equipment and Formation Array materials covered the ground in front of him. This was the only Fulfilled Crusher in the hall. Kyle had been sure his attack was strong enough to kill him, but apparently, this guy had some treasures and Laws that significantly improved his defenses.

Yet, while he had survived, he was also severely injured.

From what Kyle could see, this guy just barely managed to survive.

However, that didn't matter.

The next moment, an azure hammer appeared behind the guy.

This time, he wouldn't survive.

The hammer reached the man.

BANG!

A slender hand slapped the hammer to the side, as if it were made of plastic.

"Insolence!" the owner of the hand, a beautiful woman with black and white hair who wore the uniform of the Contrast Empire, shouted.

When Kyle saw her, he gritted his teeth.

She was a Sage, and as a member of the Contrast Empire, she had to be an outstanding Sage. She wasn't some kind of newly advanced Sage who had only managed to become an Advanced Crusher in the past.

Kyle looked at the injured person behind her.

Things had gone from bad to worse. With her presence, Kyle wouldn't be able to kill the last survivor.

He had done the same thing as Conversion of Worlds.

He had shared Inner World's secrets and left survivors.

It was obvious that the Contrast Empire would ask this person about what had happened, and the person would tell them about the Formation Array knowledge Azure Comet had shared.

The Contrast Empire would know what this was about and would tell Inner World about it.

Kyle had not only angered the Contrast Empire but also Inner World.

The Investigator from the Contrast Empire glared at Kyle. "Destroying our Formation Arrays! Killing people in a safe zone! Azure Comet, the Contrast Empire hereby declares you a criminal!"

Then, she pointed her arm at Kyle, and the Space Energy around him stabilized. "Trying to use a Dimensional Descender? You're overestimating yourself!"

Kyle snorted. "You're the one overestimating yourself," he said.

BANG!

The Space Energy around Kyle broke, and his body distorted.

The eyes of the Investigator widened in shock.

What was going on?!

Then, she noticed Kyle's True Sin Aura and realized what was going on. She hadn't noticed it previously, since there were literally no people in the Main Dimension who had True Sin Auras. She only saw True Sin Auras when the Cult attacked.

As a Sage, she could descend Dimensions, but she couldn't stop the Laws of the world pulling someone down to another Dimension.

The Investigator gritted her teeth as she fired a beam of concentrated light at Kyle.

The beam of light shot through Kyle's chest.

His Center shook and cracked in several places, but he survived.

He was already between Dimensions. Because of that, he had only been hit by 1% of her power.

Yet, just 1% of her power was already enough to nearly kill him.

Then, Kyle vanished from the Main Dimension.

When the Investigator saw that, she gritted her teeth.

She had the power to descend Dimensions as well. If she wanted to, she could go all the way to the Hell Dimension.

However, she was only a Sage. The world's Laws could directly transport someone to a target Dimension. Immortals could also do that.

Sadly, Sages couldn't. While she could go to the Hell Dimension, she could only descend one Dimension at a time, and each descent would take a couple of seconds.

While staying a couple of seconds in the Beast Dimension wasn't an issue for her, staying a couple of seconds in the Elemental Dimension represented gambling with her life.

The mere proximity to a Spirit Lord, Ascendant, or even Immortal Elemental would kill her. Their Elemental powers were so immense and far-reaching that she would be consumed by them.

However, there was also a chance that she could survive, and she would only need to do the trip once. In order to get back, she simply needed to stop her power, and the world would naturally transport her back to the Main Dimension without going through any other Dimension.

Was it worth it?

Meanwhile, Kyle's surroundings changed, and a moment later, he found himself in the emptiness of space.

Apparently, the Hell Dimension equivalent of this Planet was already destroyed or moved somewhere else.

Kyle looked around and saw several Planets in the distance.

Silence.

All the Planets were lifeless and unmoving.

No debris moved through space.

There was just… no movement.

The Hell Dimension.

Only true sinners lived here.

Kyle sighed. 'Back here again.'

Kyle just looked around.

His life was no longer in his hands. While he was fast for a Crusher, anyone who could go to the Hell Dimension with their own power could teleport and would be at least one Realm higher. Weeks' worth of travel for Kyle would equate to mere seconds for these people.

'Well, goodbye, Secondary Sector,' Kyle thought. Kyle sighed again. 'Anyway, I should ask for a pickup.'

His perception stretched deep into his being, searching for the Lord's Blessing.

Accessing the Blessing always took a long time since it was so hard to reach.

As Kyle tried to access the Blessing, his perception was suddenly pulled back to reality as he felt some Energy moving around him.

The next moment, white Space Energy gathered in front of him, and he started to become nervous and doubtful.

'No way, right?'

The white Space Energy became denser.

'That's suicide! There's no way you're going through the Elemental Dimension just for me!'

The white Space Energy parted, revealing a new person.

Kyle just looked forward in horror as he saw a burned human body quickly recovering.

When the body fully recovered, Kyle came face-to-face with his death.

"You're crazy!" Kyle shouted.

The Investigator sneered aggressively.

      Chapter 853 - Confronting Death

Kyle couldn't believe what he was seeing.

'Is she f#cking insane?! She went through the Elemental Dimension just to deal with me?!

Dude, you could've just called someone! Why are you so dead set on killing me?!'

'Is it because of my lack of Karmic Luck? Did my bad luck influence which Investigator was sent?'

As Kyle looked at the Investigator, a ton of thoughts and emotions shot through his mind.

      Rage, frustration, fear, helplessness, regret...

"Do you have any last words, Descending Mountain?" the Investigator asked with a cold voice.

Kyle sighed 'Well, seems like they made the connection. For f#ck's sake, the Contrast Empire always needs years or centuries to make a decision, but when it comes to me, they act within minutes!'

"Yeah, have some last words," Kyle said "Why the f#ck did you do that? Why did you risk your life just to kill me? You could've just called someone else."

The Investigator looked at Kyle for a moment.

In truth, the two of them didn't have any personal conflicts. They hadn't even seen each other before. She had just been sent to deal with him, and that was it. It was her job. She didn't hate or like Kyle. He was just the person she was tasked to kill.

      "Your Karmic Weight," she answered.

"Karmic Weight?" Kyle asked, "That's the first time I've heard of Karmic Weight."

"The more outstanding the person, the larger their Karmic Weight," she said "You have killed several Unique Crushers as a Fulfilled Crusher. Your actions have influenced several Peak Organizations. Your Karmic Weight is as substantial as the Karmic Weight of a powerful Sage or even Spirit Lord."

"You have a True Sin Aura Due to your Karmic Weight, killing you will give me Karmic Luck equivalent to killing Sage or Spirit Lord with a True Sin Aura."

"Killing you will improve my Karmic Luck by at least one level, most likely two," she said.

The Investigator pulled out a sword and pointed it at Kyle "If you want to blame someone for your death, you can only look at yourself. To condense a True Sin Aura, you must have affected a great number of people negatively. If you hadn't condensed a True Sin Aura but managed to go to the Hell Dimension anyway, I would not have followed you."

"The world has rejected you, Descending Mountain. It has deemed you irredeemable. You are a threat to all of us. You are no different from these fanatics from the Cult of Final Fate."

      "You're our enemy."

"Today, I will get rid of our enemy"

Kyle raised a skeptical eyebrow "First, you say that you're here because of the reward. Then, you say that you're here to get rid of the world's enemy. Well, what is it?"

Light gathered on the Investigators sword Despite the fact that Kyle called out her hypocrisy, she didn't seem perturbed "Two halves make a whole. Try to be a better person in your next life."

Kyle could feel the unreal amount of Energy gathering on the Investigator's sword The level of her Complex Law was even higher than his Law of Black Hole. The amount of Energy stored inside the light aura was over five times higher than all the Energy Kyle had stored in his Center.

'Yep, there's no way I'm surviving this,' he thought

As the Energy gathered on the sword, Kyle's life shot through his head, and as he thought back, he felt mixed emotions.

In the beginning, he had felt hopeless. The only way to deal with the oppressive reality was to cope and to act as if the negative events didn't affect him.

Then, after getting to the Tertiary World, he had become a bit more hopeful, but he still hadn't been happy. Even though he had buried it deep inside, Theodor's constant nagging and pressure had still turned the world grey.

When he had been free of Theodor, he had finally had some time to focus on himself, but he found that he had forgotten how to relax. The only things he knew were how to increase his power and fight. Meeting Sebastian made it easier since he finally had a real friend.

His time as Overseer was the worst. It felt hopeless and oppressive. Yet, he had persevered, hoping that he could find a way to escape.

When he had joined the Cult of Final Fate, he had felt mixed feelings. On one hand, he was happy that he was free again, but on the other hand, the deaths of almost everyone he knew still made it hard to relax.

After joining the Array of Stars, Kyle's life finally felt like it had regained some color. While he knew that he would one day betray his friends, he still managed to look past the grey veil and see some color.

As he grew more powerful, he also realized that he gained more agency. Things finally looked hopeful. He had something to work towards.

But now, everything was crashing down.

      It was over.

Finally, the chaotic and multicolored pool of emotions calmed down. All the colors gave way
      until only one remained.

      Light grey, almost white.

      Acceptance.

He would have loved to continue, but everything had an end

'My life started out chaotic, but it became clearer with time,' Kyle thought as he saw the light intensifying. 'If | could change one thing, it would be my tendency to always be alone.'

'I should've spent more time with my friends.'

At that moment, the image of Star Genesis shot through Kyle's mind

'Maybe should've accepted when she made her move. Been forever since I had a relationship.'

'Although, maybe it's for the better.'

'I don't think I can feel a lot of love.'

Kyle chuckled 'I'm a bit too f#cked in the head for her.'

Kyle calmly looked at the sword.

      'Goodbye.'

      BANG!

The light shot forward, but it didn't shoot towards Kyle.

Instead, it shot towards a random spot beside him.

The next instant, the Investigator flew backward as even more Energy gathered on her sword.

      BANG!

      A clap of thunder.

      A bolt of lightning.

      "You ruined my entrance! Rude!"

Kyle's eyes widened as he looked at the person who had just appeared in front of him Bolts of lightning still arced around his body as he looked at the Investigator. He had long silver hair, and his hands were in the pockets of his dark blue uniform.

After a moment, the Investigator's careful stance relaxed, and her eyes narrowed "I didn't expect that the Array of Stars would send someone to rescue a criminal but also didn't expect them to send a mere First Refinement Sage."

"Hey, I just got here! Give me a break," the man said with a roll of his eyes.

A moment later, the man turned to Kyle, who still looked in shock at the new person.

When the man saw Kyle, he just smiled "You've lost weight. The Kyle I remember had a lot more muscle on his bones.'

Kyle blinked a couple of times.

A moment later, he felt something familiar about the person in front of him.

      Then, it hit him.

      "Sebastian?" Kyle asked.

The man in front of Kyle smirked.

      "The one and only."

        Chapter 854 - Mad Idea

'Sebastian?' Kyle thought in shock 'How and why is he here? Shouldn't he be in a Secondary or Primary World?'

"I’ll explain everything later," Sebastian transmitted, noticing Kyle's shocked and confused expression "First, I have to deal with her."

Sebastian looked back at the Investigator, who seemed surprisingly calm.

Sebastian's words pulled Kyle out of his shock, and he quickly noticed something.

The amount of Energy the Investigator passively absorbed was much greater than what Sebastian passively absorbed. This meant that the Investigator was a couple of levels above him.

If this were just a random Sage, there wouldn't be an issue. However, the Investigator was a member of the Contrast Empire. Her Laws had to be outstanding.

"Can you win against her?" Kyle asked via voice transmission.
        Sebastian just smirked.

        "Nope."

        Kyle blinked in confusion.

Meanwhile, the Investigator wordlessly readied her sword again. Since one person had arrived to help Descending Mountain, there might be more on their way. It was better to finish this matter quickly and leave.

She wasn't afraid of this newcomer. After all, he was only a First Refinement Sage. As a

Fourth Refinement Sage with a Complex Level 5.5 Law, she could easily take care of any
        First Refinement Sage.

Countless swords of light gathered around the Investigator, and an instant later, they shot towards Kyle and Sebastian.

Sebastian just smiled deviously and snapped his fingers.

        BANG!

A humongous hand made of lightning broke through reality and crushed all the light swords.

The Investigator's eyes widened in horror as she witnessed a second hand grabbing the walls of the hole the first hand had created. A moment later, the second hand tore reality apart, and a figure stepped through.

The Elemental Energy in the surroundings turned chaotic before they all transformed into pure Lightning Energy. Space, Time, and Gravity shook as the bipedal figure of lightning descended into the Hell Dimension.

It wasn't made of flesh, bone, blood, hair, chitin, or any other form of biological matter.

This thing was made of pure Lightning Energy.

Kyle realized what this figure was, and his eyes widened.

"What have you done?!" the Investigator shouted in terror "You brought an Elemental to this place! Are you crazy?"

"You're one to talk," Sebastian answered with a snort "You went through the Elemental Dimension without a guide to kill my friend. So what if I summon an Elemental?"

The Investigator just looked at the humongous Lightning Elemental in horror.

This was a Peak Level Seven Elemental! This thing could even fight newly-advanced Spirit Lords!

Kyle's heart rate shot through the roof. Sebastian had summoned an Elemental! Elementals were mindless killing machines!

'And yet, it isn't acting like one,' Kyle thought as he watched the Elemental calmly standing in front of Sebastian 'Can he actually control it? But how?'

"Anyway," Sebastian said "I don't wanna find out if you somehow called for help or not Sorry, but we gotta make this quick."

The Investigator's eyes widened even more as the Space Energy around her distorted.

        She was trying to teleport!

But then, her surroundings shook as the Energy fell into chaos again.

The majority of Sages could teleport, but they could only initiate teleportation outside of combat The reason for that was simple.

Momentum could interrupt teleportation Of course, it only worked if the Realm and

Momentum of the other person were somewhat comparable to the teleporter. A Sage couldn't interrupt a Spirit Lord's teleportation with their Momentum.

When the Investigator noticed that her teleportation had been interrupted by Sebastian's

Momentum, she felt some hope. Elementals reacted aggressively towards Momentum By forcing Sebastian to activate his Momentum, she hoped that the Elemental would attack him.

Yet, all her hope died when she noticed the Elemental ignoring Sebastian and shooting towards her.

The Investigator pulled out her sword and pushed the majority of her Energy into it before firing a terrifying beam of light at the Lightning Elemental.

        BANG!

The beam created a humongous hole in the Lightning Elemental, but the lightning, the

Elemental was made of, just continued flying forward. Elementals didn't have any Aspects of Power.

They didn't have a Center, mind, Soul, biological body, Core Spark, or even a Beast Core.

They were pure and malevolent forces of nature. That was also why it was impossible to control an Elemental

So, why did this thing ignore its summoner and attack her?!

The Investigator turned around to flee. If she could escape the area of influence of

Sebastian's Momentum, she could teleport! She could still survive!

Yet, that hope also died quickly when she noticed the Elemental's speed.

        It was unreasonably fast.

Within an instant, it caught up to the Investigator. Its body turned into a spear made of lightning which shot right at the Investigator.

When she felt the power behind that attack, she realized that she wouldn't be able to survive. This attack was far beyond her capabilities.

        The spear reached her.

        BANG!

An ethereal hand made of light grabbed the lightning spear. The Lightning Elemental tried to disperse its form to escape the grasp of the humongous hand, but it couldn't. The hand somehow had the capabilities to contain the Lightning Elemental's essence.

When Sebastian saw that, his eyes widened, an instant later, he pulled out a small token-

The token vanished from Sebastian's hand.

The next moment, reality parted as a new person arrived below the Lightning Elemental.

The new person wore a small crown and wore the luxurious uniform of a high-ranking member of the Contrast Empire.

In her hand, she held the token Sebastian had just summoned.

When Kyle saw the new person, his mind went blank

Only three words appeared in his mind.

        'Fu#k, it's her.'

"Countess!" the Investigator shouted in shock and elation.

The Countess nodded towards the Investigator before turning to look at Sebastian, the token moving through her fingers playfully. "Do you believe you can call for help in my presence?"

Sebastian took a deep breath but didn't answer.

"Seriously?" Kyle asked suddenly. "You came here yourself?! You're not here because of me, right?"

The Countess glanced at Kyle neutrally. She looked at him for a moment before looking back at the Lightning Elemental above her.

The ethereal hand made of light clenched and compressed the Lightning Elemental until it was as big as a football. Then, the ball moved towards the Countess' actual hand.

The Countess looked at the ball with some interest before glancing back at Sebastian "I didn't expect that I would meet two geniuses today."

The Countess looked back at the Lightning Elemental "What an ingenious yet mad idea.'

A moment later, the Countess moved her hand into the ball of lightning and took hold of something.

She pulled the object out of the Lightning Elemental, and moments later, the lightning in her hands became much more violent. However, it still wasn't powerful enough to escape.

When Kyle saw the object in the Countess' hands, his eyes widened.

        He recognized that object.

"I assume this is yours?" the Countess asked, looking at Sebastian while holding out a small bead of lightning.

        Sebastian gritted his teeth.

"Using your own Core Spark as a central control system to take control of an Elemental This can truly be considered madness.'

The next moment, she turned to look at Kyle "As for your question.

"No, I'm not here because of you."

At that moment, reality warped again as another person arrived.

I think its because he needs to give them a certain freedom to not stifle the growth of the people in his cosmos. Also his cosmos is waaaay too large to intervene personally and he likely didnt want to go down the route of making a lot of clones of himself. Thats why he introduced a very transparent incentive structure in the form of Karmic Luck to achieve his goals.
