Chapter 1158: Great Thunderstorm of Heaven and Earth

The pressure suddenly swelled, becoming nearly boundless in this instant. Invisible yet undeniable, it was as if heaven and earth themselves roared in fury, You shall not become Emperors!

But just then, Tang San sharply lifted his head. Golden light burst forth from his eyes, an unparalleled majesty erupting in that moment. Behind him, a shimmering golden manifestation emerged, and within his grasp, the Holy Dragon Spear appeared.

The spear's butt struck forward, tapping onto the final golden step. Instantly, space shuddered violently. A circle of golden light spread outward from where the spear had struck. The next moment, Tang San pulled Mei Gongzi with him, planting his feet firmly upon the final step.

How could a mere mortal plane suppress the Sea God's majesty? At this instant, Tang San revealed his true hand!

BOOOOOOMMMMMMM!

Heaven and earth changed color, the sky itself turning into a swirling sea of violet-black.

For Tang San and Mei Gongzi, it was as if they had been struck by divine enlightenment. From the heavens above, boundless, pure energy descended, pouring into their bodies, cleansing their flesh, nourishing their spirits. Wisps of radiance rose from them like smoke. The Gauntlet of Ascension was over.

As of this moment, they were true Emperors. What awaited them now was the second stage of the tribulation, the Great Thunderstorm of Heaven and Earth. The Gauntlet of Ascension was a challenging elevation, the Great Thunderstorm was baptism. Once they withstood the tempering of heavenly lightning, they would stand as sovereigns.

But they had completed their Gauntlet of Ascension at ten thousand meters above the ground. Thus, the clouds of the Great Thunderstorm they now faced were all around them. Lightning did not merely gather from above; it came from all directions. Deep violet bolts, immense and terrifying, surged forth in an instant, leaving them no chance to breathe.

The sky seemed to split as countless thunderbolts crashed down.

Tang San spun the Holy Dragon Spear in his hand, forming the Mysterious Circles of Heaven. He bore the first wave of lightning head-on, and a fraction of a second later, he and Mei Gongzi were both wreathed in coils of violet lightning.

Tang San felt his Sea God's divine seat shining ever brighter under the stimulus of the lightning, its brilliance becoming stronger and purer. The power of this tribulation was immense; its force was greater than even the Nine Heavens Ten Earths Divine Extinguishing Tribulation he had once endured. Yet he was no longer who he had been back then.

Though he had not yet recovered to the level of God King, at the moment he completed the Gauntlet of Ascension, he had already regained his status. Once more, he was the true Sea God.

A red halo bloomed at that moment; Mei Gongzi too had unleashed her power. But at the same time, complex emotions showed in her eyes. When she set foot upon that final step, visions flashed across her mind—strange, vivid images that seemed to be fragments of memory. But now, under the pressure of the Great Thunderstorm, she dared not dwell upon them. Instead, she poured all her power into her sword. The Asura Sword carved out her own version of the Mysterious Circles of Heaven, tinged with crimson light.

The Holy Dragon Spear rose high, golden brilliance exploding from it. As the weapon bathed in lightning, it began to transform, reshaping itself into the form of the Golden Trident of the Sea God. Rings of golden light rippled outward.

When this divine light touched the furious violet thunderbolts, the lightning itself was dyed golden.

The sight was breathtaking. Yet the golden light did not truly block the storm; it was still Mei Gongzi's Asura Sword that cut apart the lightning, dispersing it blow by blow.

Scarcely three breaths later, the skies shifted once more. A faint blue tint appeared above, formed from countless motes of azure light. These lights gathered, merging with the golden radiance, forming a blue-golden glow that surged toward Tang San like the embrace of a boundless ocean.

This blue-golden light was no longer of the Blue Gold Tree clan's bloodline power. It was faith energy pouring forth from the Endless Blue Sea, from the countless sea beasts who worshipped him.

The Sea God had returned. How could his believers not come to welcome him?

That glow wrapped around Tang San, solidifying the Sea God's manifestation behind him. Even more lightning now chose him as its target, crashing down upon him.

Numbness, agony, suffocating weight… Layer upon layer of torment swept over Tang San and Mei Gongzi. The will of the plane itself sought to erase them. Yet with the Sea God's Trident and the Asura Sword, they stood unyielding.

And the pressure continued to mount. The planar ruler drew upon its deepest reservoirs of strength, summoning more overwhelming force to annihilate them.

Yet Tang San remained utterly calm. The moment he reclaimed the Sea God's divine seat, it was a done deed. No power in this world could prevent him from regaining his original power in full.

Suddenly, a wave of strange life energy burst out behind him. Blue-golden radiance shone as the manifestation of a colossal tree rose.

At once, the raging sky softened. The fury of Heaven's wrath was soothed, as though the world itself had been caressed by life's touch.

It was the Ancestral Tree's imprint, now awakened within him.

The Ancestral Tree had once merged into the heavens, becoming part of the world's will as the sovereign of all life. But at the same time, it was the direct ancestor of the Blue Gold Tree clan. During this age, Tang San had guided the Blue Gold Trees to rise, restoring their honor, turning a once-dying clan into a power admired across the continent. Such deeds earned him the Ancestral Tree's favor.

Now, with this imprint awakened, the will of the plane was soothed. The crushing force upon them eased up, not entirely but enough.

The Sea God's Trident flared brighter, channeling ever more faith energy into Tang San. With the Ancestral Tree's imprint lending him reprieve, he seized the moment to gather even more divine energy and stabilize his connection to his divine seat.

The world shook violently as power built up. The reprieve lasted but a few breaths before heaven's wrath roared anew, fiercer than ever.

The ground quaked. All elemental energies in the air were dragged upward and drawn into the heart of the storm, gathering for one final all-out strike against Tang San and Mei Gongzi.

The pressure on Mei Gongzi doubled. Even holding the Asura Sword became arduous. It was only Tang San's chaos energy and faith energy that shielded their bodies. But the crushing oppression continued to grow.

Her heart trembled. Could such infinite might of heaven and earth truly be resisted? Or would they be ground into nothingness?

Then Tang San's calm voice echoed in her soul.

"Do you wish for your world to perish? Have you forgotten my promise?"

She looked at him. Even as he stood there facing the storm of destruction, his face was tranquil and his gaze unshaken, as though the tribulation of heaven and earth had nothing to do with them.

His serenity calmed her heart as well. With him here, how could anything truly be insurmountable?

Before her eyes, Tang San's form seemed to overlap with another. The past and the present fused; memories of her previous life stirred awake. The veil of her reincarnation quietly unraveled.

In this instant, she understood. The moment she crossed her first tribulation, she had already regained all her memories, although she couldn't access them directly. If Tang San had attempted to bring her old self back at that time, he truly might have succeeded; the barrier between the old self and the new would have shattered, and her previous life's personality would have taken over. That would have been the easy way out for Tang San. But he had not done so. Instead, he had allowed her to grow anew in this world; to live a new life, to develop a new identity, and to create new memories.
