Chapter 1152: Chaos Divides into Yin and Yang

In the next moment, Tang San began to stir his chaos energy and reversed its flow, channeling it into the Chaos Blue Silver Emperor. At once, blue and red streams of energy burst out from the imprint, forming a blue-red vortex.

This was the energy of extreme yin and extreme yang.

When Tang San first fused the Blue Silver Emperor with the bloodlines of the Scorching Sunflower and Nethermoon Flower clans, he created a transcendent bloodline, and at the same time produced a trace of chaos energy through the merger of yin and yang. Now, he was reversing the process—using chaos energy to amplify yin and yang.

Infused with chaos energy, the yin-yang vortex erupted like a veritable maelstrom, causing Tang San's aura to surge in an instant. All bloodline imprints within him lit up simultaneously.

If not for the suppression of the Sea God's divine seat, this single eruption would have drawn the Emperor Tribulation upon him immediately.

Chaos energy touching yin and yang energy was like oil spilled onto a fire; the two energies spread through his body in a flash, dyeing all his bloodline brands red and blue.

The Chaos Blue Silver Emperor had always sat at the center, nurturing all the other brands with yin and yang energy. Thus, each imprint already contained faint traces of that dual power. When Tang San used them in battle, yin-yang energy could be added at will to amplify their might. Now, though each imprint received a sudden infusion of power, none of them destabilized; they merely radiated with greater power.

Tang San first targeted the Blue Gold Transformation. Without hesitation, he guided it into the yin-yang vortex, and a moment later… the Blue Gold Transformation was devoured by the Chaos Blue Silver Emperor.

A surge of dense life energy merged into this core imprint, making the Chaos Blue Silver Emperor blaze with renewed brilliance. Its azure radiance shone even brighter.

Though technically a first-tier bloodline, without the Ancestral Tree's imprint, the Blue Gold Transformation was practically the weakest of its tier. Compared to the chaos-infused Chaos Blue Silver Emperor, it was as far apart as earth was from heaven. Its devouring brought no turmoil.

The Blue Gold Transformation's mission was complete the moment the final gemstone was embedded into the topmost array in the Tower of Life. Its final role was to be nourishment for the Chaos Blue Silver Emperor, sparing Tang San from having to deal with the Law of Life during his tribulation.

Once the Blue Gold Transformation had been dealt with, Tang San set his sights on the Immortal Flame Phoenix. But for this one, he had a different plan.

He infused the Immortal Flame Phoenix imprint with extreme yang energy. At once, the imprint flared, blazing with incandescent light, subtly transforming under that overpowering energy.

At the same time, he sent extreme yin into the Dragon Roc imprint. This fusion of Wind Dragon and Golden-Winged Great Roc turned a deep blue.

In an interesting turn of events, he now had the classic representatives of yin and yang—the phoenix and the dragon—yet their energy alignment went the other way around, with the dragon taking the yin and the phoenix taking the yang. Faint dragon roars and phoenix cries resounded within Tang San's body.

This was his method of simplifying his tribulation: focusing on a minimal number of distinct high-level Laws that harmonized well. Whatever could be brought under the wing of yin and yang, he infused with yin and yang. Chaos as foundation, yin and yang as pillars. Since yin and yang were cosmic-level Laws he absolutely had to touch upon, this method ensured that he would then be able to bring them to an equilibrium; the plane would then consider all the yin- and yang-aligned imprints as smaller parts of the greater Law of Yin and Yang, and Tang San would not have to suffer what basically amounted to a separate tribulation for each of his imprints.

Weaker imprints like the Blue Gold Tree one would be merged into others. Stronger ones were reforged through yin-yang. Balance had to be maintained.

In order to figure out the perfect balance, he relied on the Discerning Eye of Heaven. Under its clear vision, with its control over fortune and elements alike, the Immortal Flame Phoenix and Dragon Roc imprints stabilized. At last, one burned red and the other glowed blue; their original energies were compressed within, and they were fully aligned to yin and yang. The first true division was complete.

Without pause, Tang San turned to the Lion-Tiger Transformation and Golden Armor Transformation. Unlike the previous pair, these two were unbalanced—Lion-Tiger a first-tier imprint, Golden Armor a transcendent one.[1]

He channeled extreme yin into Golden Armor and extreme yang into the Lion-Tiger imprint. They blazed fiercely, and his inner balance wavered. He instantly infused extreme yang into the Holy Radiant Dragon imprint, using it to counterbalance the Golden Armor. Through the Discerning Eye's mediation, equilibrium was gradually restored.

This adjustment was harder, as it involved three imprints instead of two. But in the end, balance was achieved.

Next, he called upon the power of the Spacetime Lighthouse. With a little yin-yang infusion, the Peacock and Chrono Transformations, which were already bound together and just a step away from fusing, fully fused into a single Spacetime Transformation.

This time, it really was only a touch of yin-yang. Time and space were already among the mightiest Laws of the entire cosmos, and the Spacetime Lighthouse was well on the way to becoming a transcendent divine item. Thus, the process was swift.

He then infused yin-yang energy into the Crystal Transformation imprint, linking it with the yin- and yang-aligned imprints. The Crystal Transformation imprint thus became a bridge between the two sides—and at the same time, gained control over them.

Tang San himself retained three imprints under his direct control: the Spacetime Transformation, Discerning Eye of Heaven, and Chaos Blue Silver Emperor.

"You really trust me a lot, I see." Crystalline's voice rang from within.

Tang San smiled faintly. "Why wouldn't I? Just like last time, this tribulation is something we must face together. When you chose me, it was to leave this plane with me, to pursue higher realms. Now that the final moment is near, of course we must fight side by side. So yes, I trust you. Also, you know my power well, and you have replicated some of these abilities in the past yourself. I feel that you might wield these five yin-yang imprints even better than me. I have my own powers to manage, so what I'm doing is just task delegation. Dividing the burden will make the Emperor Tribulation easier."

"Very well. Since you trust me, I'll repay that trust. Whatever happens, we face it together." Crystalline's voice grew solemn.

She had witnessed Tang San's growth from the start, and the moment his divine seat appeared, she fully believed his words about the divine realm. But she also knew his tribulation would be unimaginably difficult, so it was only natural for her to feel uneasy.

But now, with such incredible powers as immortal energy and chaos energy at hand, her doubts faded. She had never even envisioned the existence of such energies in her past life, let alone be able to wield them, yet Tang San was dealing with them with obviously practiced ease. If things like these didn't stump him, then what would?

1. It appears that the author has entirely forgotten about the Lion-Tiger imprint absorbing some of the Adamant Nymph Emperor's bloodline power in 894 and becoming the Indestructible Lion-Tiger, a transcendent bloodline on par with the Golden Armor. We tried to think of a way to fix the plotline, but whatever we do, either we have to retcon a full chapter, or cause a conflict in this chapter and future ones, so… it is what it is. We are sorry. ☜
