Chapter 271: Asmodeus

I opened the door and walked in. The voice of Lilith talking with someone could be heard coming from my room. Assuming from their tone, the temperament of that conversation wasn't going well, but that wasn't what concerned me.

Considering no one knows about Lilith except me, the question that struck me at that moment was about the identity of the person she was conversing with.

I rushed towards my bedroom and noticed that the door was wide open. As I was in front of the door, I noticed the figure of Lilith having a heated conversation with a dude whose back was turned towards me so I couldn't see his face.

He appeared to be as tall as me, but what caught my eye was that he was wearing the same uniform as me.

What the fuck?

I walked in and their conversation came to an abrupt halt as Lilith's eyes shifted towards me, but there was nothing in those plain crimson orbs. The guy also turned to face and our eyes met, which left me in a state of confusion as I couldn't comprehend what was happening at that moment.

It was Seryoku.

What is he doing here?

No, what business does Lilith have with him?

What the heck?

"Ora, Saishi… fancy seeing you here." He said in his usual cheerful tone, but something was different about him. He wasn't the airhead I've talked with at school.

Who was he?

"It's my home, you dimwit!" I replied, a bit startled, which led to Lilith narrowing her eyes at us as she asked, "You… two know each other?"

Seryoku has this cunning smile on his face while only widened at Lilith's question. His eyes shifted at her and he asked in a sarcastic tone, "Hmm? Lilith doesn't know what her little puppet is doing behind her back?"

"Stop that! Know your place." Lilith said in a cold tone, and I could tell that she was quite serious. Seryoku walked closer to her while laughing, "Quite rich coming from you, Ms. Lower General Fourth."

From their conversation, I could assume that they knew each other pretty well. But there was a strange tension in the air. Lilith seemed to be way too cautious, and as for Seryoku, I was at a loss regarding him.

"Lower what?"

"Hoho? It seems…" My question made his eyes shift towards me as he chuckled, but Lilith cut him off with much hostility in her voice, "Shut the fuck up! You don't wanna do this right now!"

"I sure do." He said in a cold tone. The cheerful tone in his voice was nowhere to be heard as both of them kept staring at each other in silence.

The silence between them was heavier than any of the words they were uttering.

"Wait… what is happening?" I asked in plain confusion, and glanced at Seryoku, "How do you know her?"

"Saishi, you naïve little human." He burst out in laughter and glanced at Lilith, who was standing with an indifferent look in her eyes.

He called me a Human?

So he was from hell, after all.

"Saishi… I told you someone was messing with me. It was this nuisance." Lilith said in her concerned voice

"How rude of you to call me a nuisance even after everything we've been through together."

"We? What do you mean by we?" Lilith was sure pissed off, but Seryoku wasn't having any of it as he commented, "Ooof, why so cranky? Will you chill out? Are you at that time of the month or what?"

"I swear you want me to murder you."

"Jokes on you, I'm into that." Seryoku laughed as I again tried to ask him, "Seryoku? What is this dude?"

"Ahh… sorry for ignoring your question." He laughed in the usual tone that I've noticed in school and added while pointing towards her and said, "I'm her friend, you can say."

"Pretty much guessed so by your interaction." I nodded and Lilith narrowed her eyes at Seryoku, "Saishi… I can explain all this mess."

"Yes, explain how you're using him for your own needs."

"You don't know when to shut…" I heard Lilith's voice trail off, followed by the sound of tinnitus ringing in my ear. I staggered back and held my ears, as it made me feel uneasy from inside.

"Heh… you talk a lot." I heard his cold voice, and looked at him through my half-open eyes. His left hand was held tight by Lilith, as it appeared like he was going for her heart.

"You want to settle this now, huh?!" Lilith asked in her shaking voice.

Seryoku moved back and before I could understand what's happening, I heard another loud noise and noticed Lilith defending herself against his attacks.

They were exchanging attacks at such speed that my human eyes couldn't comprehend what was happening. All I could see was the plain expression on both of their faces, even under such circumstances.

What in the devil?

(A/N: Saishi making puns ;)

After what felt like a mere second of fierce battle, there was sudden silence in the room as I noticed Seryoku holding Lilith by her head and bruised body hanging lifeless from his hands while staring towards me with her unshut eyes.

"Do I?" He asked with a huge grin on his face as I called out to her with concern in my voice, "Lilith!"

She was getting overwhelmed by him?

"That's right Saishi, I like this look on your face." His voice stirred a strange sense of terror in my body, and I couldn't dare to look into his eyes. Those words resonate in my mind.

"Who the fuck are you?"

"I go by many names, but you can call me…" He threw Lilith on the floor and glanced at me. There was a crimson glow in his eyes as I glanced at Lilith's body, hitting the floor with a noise.

I wanted to walk back, but it felt like my feet were frozen in fear. He was slowly walking towards me while smiling and he spoke out his name, "Asmodeus."
