Chapter 611: Demon God Medusa

Having once again cast the [Floral Guard] witchcraft, Janna did not immediately follow the Frost Guardian inside. Instead, she quickly began chanting a spell.

“I command you with my will—summon—Radiant Dream Butterfly–Artemis.”

Buzz—

Accompanied by a flash of light, the Radiant Dream Butterfly–Artemis, with her seven-colored butterfly wings, appeared at the center of the Contract Array.

“My dear master, it’s been a long time.”

Perhaps due to the surrounding environment being too cold, the Radiant Dream Butterfly flew straight onto Janna’s shoulder the moment she appeared in the Glacier Plane.

“Artemis, divine something for me.”

“Yes, Master.”

After saying that, Janna took out a Silver Surrel and gently tossed it into the air three times.

“What’s the divination result?”

“Master, the result this time is: No.”

Hearing the Radiant Dream Butterfly’s words, the slight frown on Janna’s brow relaxed a little.

“The temperature here is very low. You should go back first.”

“Yes, Master. If you need anything, please summon me at any time.”

Although the Radiant Dream Butterfly, as a creature of the Dream Realm, did not possess a true physical body, the near-substantial extreme cold of the Glacier Plane could still freeze her spiritual body.

Thus, after receiving Janna’s permission, the Radiant Dream Butterfly swiftly left the Glacier Plane and returned to the Dream Realm after completing the divination.

“The result is ‘No,’ which means I won’t encounter danger if I enter.”

Putting away the Silver Surrel, Janna looked again at the narrow, elongated ice tunnel before her. Her expression was no longer as tense as before.

Just now, when she tossed the coin, the question she had in mind for divination was: Will I encounter danger after entering the ice cave?

Sure enough, the final result given by the Radiant Dream Butterfly matched the response from her innate talent [Danger Perception], which had not given her any warning—there was no danger.

“Ines, continue leading the way.”

“Ee-ee.”

Sensing Janna’s lingering tension through their mental communication, the Frost Guardian Ines had been leading the way ahead, yet she stayed close to Janna at all times, not daring to stray too far.

Even though Ines herself knew that this place—regarded as “home” by her and Ice Sel—posed no danger, she still did not dare to be careless. Taking Janna’s will as absolute, she cautiously guarded her throughout.

Crack—crack—

The narrow passage was like a winding ice python. Even though it was spacious enough, Janna still felt a suffocating tightness in her chest as she moved forward.

With every step she took, faint cracking sounds of ice crystals breaking echoed beneath her feet, as if countless invisible teeth were gnawing at the soles of her shoes, sending chills down her spine.

“Ee-ee~”

After walking for about a hundred meters, Janna finally exited the ice tunnel under the guidance of the Frost Guardian Ines.

With Ines’s reminder beside her, the moment Janna stepped out, her field of vision suddenly expanded. A massive ice dome with a diameter exceeding a thousand meters loomed overhead, descending abruptly into view.

“Is this… where you live?”

“Ee-ee!”

Hearing Ines’s slightly excited response, disbelief appeared on Janna’s face.

Rather than calling this a hidden ice cave beneath the water, it would be more accurate to describe it as a vast ice valley.

Hundreds of icicles hung upside down from above, and the smooth ice walls continuously refracted faint blue glows. Yet beyond its immense size, what astonished Janna the most was the snowflakes drifting down inside the cave.

“Why… is there snow here?”

As if appearing out of nowhere, the fine snowflakes floated down from the top of the ice dome like summer willow fluff, gradually forming a thick layer of snow on the ground.

However, during the snowfall, Janna noticed something even more peculiar—the seemingly thick snow on the ground remained at a constant height, never increasing despite the continuous fall.

“What a strange place.”

Although she discovered many odd phenomena within this massive ice cavern, Janna had to admit that the location chosen by the Frost Guardian Ines was indeed suitable for storing the Flesh Meteor.

Boom—

With a dull sound, a Flesh Meteor temporarily stored in the White Tower Ring was taken out by Janna and placed onto the snowy ground.

“After I mark the coordinates here, I’ll transport the rest of the Flesh Meteors in batches.”

Due to the limited capacity of the White Tower Ring, Janna could only transport one Flesh Meteor at a time.

Of course, once she marked the coordinates here using the Spirit Traverse talent, she would no longer need to go through the trouble of traveling from the water surface to underwater repeatedly.

With that in mind, Janna immediately activated her talent.

“Spirit Traverse—”

A starlike glimmer flashed through Janna’s pupils. At the moment the talent was activated, it was as if time itself froze. The falling snowflakes in the icy world suddenly became motionless in her perception, leaving only a vast elliptical ice surface composed entirely of blue crystals.

“Hiss—”

Originally searching for a stable coordinate through her Soul Vision, Janna suddenly lifted her head—and what she saw made her mind go blank.

A pitch-black stone statue, as large as a mountain, appeared embedded within the dome above.

At that very moment, her mind emptied, and she involuntarily drew sharp breaths.

“This is… Demon God Medusa!?”

As her vision gradually focused, Janna finally saw the true appearance of the black statue hidden within the frozen dome—a towering Medusa statue as grand as a mountain.

The head of the serpent-haired demon appeared within the ice in a downward-looking posture. Each strand of snake hair was as thick as an ancient thousand-year-old tree, and the dark scales shimmered with a deep, black luster under the refraction of the ice crystals.

Moreover, Medusa’s face was not as twisted and hideous as described in legends. Though her eyes were tightly closed, her stunningly beautiful face carried an almost divine solemnity…

“According to legend, Demon God Medusa had already fallen during the God War, and her demonic body was said to have been buried within the abyss…”

[Gorgon–Medusa], a dark deity exiled by the Abyssal World, bore titles such as [Abyss of Petrification], [Mother of a Thousand Heads], and [Eternal Gazer]. It was said that at her peak, her power even surpassed that of the Outer Gods.

Yet even such a powerful existence could not escape the fate of falling in that great war…
