Book 3: Chapter 131 (2)

Leon glanced left and right—none of his three enforcers showed any intent to retort.

Though he himself disdained trading trash talk, this was a crucial battle, and a couple of words were still in order.

“No need to worry about dividing up the kills.”

Leon stepped forward, spreading his right hand, lightning gathering in his palm, “I’ll take on all three of you alone. Constantine and the others will handle the dangerous species and fusion beasts.”

Gini raised an eyebrow, “Pretty cocky, Leon. Do you even know that on the dragon-slaying battlefield, our brothers’ record is no worse than yours?”

Leon let out a cold huff, bending slightly into an attack stance,

“We’ll talk about that after a couple of moves.”

With that, Leon wasted no more words with the Dagger Trio, channeling lightning magic, his form flickering as he charged forward.

In a life-or-death battle, a single breath could claim a life, so there was no need for a “one-two-three, go” signal.

Leon’s ambush was highly effective—the Dagger Trio didn’t react in time.

By the time his form materialized, he was already at Gini’s side.

Instantly, a sharp bird’s cry rang in Gini’s ear—

Boom!—

A clean, decisive strike sent the Dagger’s leader flying over ten meters.

This Thousand Birds move was the signal to start the battle. King Kant, on the land boat, wiped the cold sweat from his brow and shouted,

“Go! All of you, go! Kill this traitor!”

“Roar!—”

The dangerous species and fusion beasts surged forward.

As Leon had just said, these were left to the three enforcers he’d brought.

Claudia’s beautiful eyes swept over the grotesque, ferocious monsters, a slight smirk on her lips,

“He kept the three tough ones for himself and left us with these grunts. Roswitha.”

“Hm?”

“Your husband’s so stingy.”

“…”

Roswitha gave a helpless smile, also assuming an attack stance, “Senior, in battle, there’s no such thing as stingy or not. Every enemy must be faced with full effort.”

“Oh, that’s some solid resolve. No wonder you two are a couple.”

With that, Claudia stopped teasing, raising her hand to summon dragon flames, blasting the surrounding dangerous species into the air.

Roswitha seized the moment, following up with a fireball, syncing with Claudia for their first wave of flawless teamwork.

“Not bad. Keep it up.”

The two worked together to clear the grunts, their moves methodical, even graceful and composed.

But Constantine’s side was noticeably more… *lively*.

Already harboring hatred for the Empire, plus the fusion monsters reminding him of his tortured days in the Empire’s labs,

Constantine didn’t hold back.

A few massive dragon flames nearly leveled half the district.

Thankfully, the Lionheart Society had evacuated the crowd, preventing casualties.

“Hmph, a bunch of trash.”

Constantine flicked his right hand, shaking off the lingering dragon flames, then charged at a larger fusion beast.

As expected, small fries couldn’t satisfy the Crimson Flame Dragon King—only the big ones would do!

This battle, tied to the Empire’s fate, erupted in an instant.

Leon tangled with the Dagger Trio.

Even against three, he didn’t lose an inch.

The Gini brothers’ fists were like wind, swift as lightning, a storm of punches raining down on Leon.

But Leon dodged every attack, no matter how fast their fists, never taking a single hit.

The four fought from the Upper District border to two blocks away.

Leon fought while retreating.

“Hey, revolutionary hero, been fighting for ages and haven’t seen you fight back?” the one-armed third brother, Gimei, taunted while attacking.

Leon crossed his arms in front of him, steadily blocking Gimei’s heavy punch, then said,

“Been fighting for ages, and I haven’t seen you use your other hand. What, don’t want to?”

When it came to *heart-stabbing* skills, these three combined couldn’t match a single finger of Leon’s.

Not to mention, General Leon had been the leader of the Dragon-Slaying Corps, so his verbal sparring was naturally top-notch.

Plus, all these years in the Silver Dragon Sanctuary, battling wits with that Mother Dragon, he’d long since transformed, a far cry from his past self.

Beating Leon in a war of words was even harder than beating him in a fight.

Gimei, predictably, *went red-hot* in a flash, his punches turning chaotic,

“You bastard! I’ll rip both your arms off!”

“Gimei, wait! Don’t charge in alone!”

But it was too late. The one-armed hothead dashed to Leon’s side, raising his right leg toward Leon’s waist.

And this was exactly the moment Leon had been waiting for!

In the instant Gimei broke away from the other two, Leon created some distance.

This shifted the battle from “one versus three” to “Leon versus Gimei alone.”

Leon had deliberately left an opening at his waist to bait Gimei.

As Gimei kicked, Leon hooked his arm, slamming his elbow hard into Gimei’s shin.

Crack!—

The sound of breaking bone, followed by Gimei’s wail.

Leon pressed his advantage, grabbing Gimei’s ankle, spinning in place, and hurling him away.

Boom!—

Gimei shot like a cannonball into a low building, the structure collapsing, burying him in rubble and debris.

“Gimei!!”

Seeing their youngest brother injured, the second brother, Gitai, grew slightly agitated.

“Worry about yourself first.”

Like a whisper from the Grim Reaper, Gitai’s brief distraction was all it took for Leon to flash to his side.
