Chapter 456: Meggie – I taught her well (2/3) (SCRAPPED) |
Emma puffed her cheeks and crossed her arms.
Perry quickly took a step back, shaking his head.
Meggie laughed and turned back around towards campus. "Come on you two. We're still early, but I've got a feeling it'll be less drama if we head out now instead of later."
Emma nodded. "Right..."
Perry sighed and adjusted his bag. "That's true..."
Meggie walked towards campus. As she did though, she glanced at Perry and said, "Do you really wanna follow us around, Perry?" She came to a stop as they reached the courtyard in front of the main building and said, "This is mostly a girl thing. If you're around..."
She paused and took a closer look at Perry.
A cute smile. A slightly pudgy face that was sure to be handsome in a few years. And while not too tall, a little taller than the average girl at the academy, making it so they'd have to look up at him, if only just a bit.
Compared to Dad, Meggie thought Perry was just a cheap knock-off. But by normal standards, he was probably pretty handsome and cute... which meant that he was definitely attractive to most of the girls in this academy.
Wait.
Meggie frowned and said, "Actually, no. You're not allowed to be around."
Perry blinked. "Wait, why?"
Meggie quickly started shoving him to the side and said, "You head off first. If you're around, things will definitely just escalate."
Perry glanced back. "But Emma-"
Emma interrupted and said, "No, Meggie's right, Perry."
Meggie stopped pushing Perry and glanced at Emma.
Emma took a deep breath and gave Perry a determined look. "I'll resolve this. So... just wait for me, okay?"
Perry looked at Emma for a while. Then he sighed and said, "Okay, Emma. Then..." He looked at Meggie and said, "I'm counting on you, Meggie."
Meggie rolled her eyes and said, "Yeah, yeah. Just head off already, pretty boy before I smack your irritatingly cute face."
Perry blinked. Then he laughed and said, "You're... definitely something else, Meggie..."
"And definitely not interested in you. Now get." Meggie gave him a soft kick on the rear.
Perry chuckled and started walking. "Fine, fine... I'll see you two later." After that, he waved and headed off.
Meggie smiled and then glanced at Emma. "You coming?"
Emma nodded and moved to Meggie's side, a bright smile on her face. "Let's... let's do this, Meggie."
Meggie paused and then took a step back, reaching out to maneuver Emma directly in front of her.
Emma blushed and said, "W-What are you doing, Meggie? I-I mean, I don't mind you touching me, b-but..."
Meggie laughed and poked Emma's cheek. "Stop saying cute things that'll get misunderstood. And..." She looked serious and said, "If you're in front of me, it'll be easier to protect you if they try something."
Emma paused and then looked confused. "...It is?"
"Yeah- And speak of the devil." Meggie frowned when she saw a group of girls walk out from the main building. She clicked her tongue and said, "Dad's always right about these things, huh? Perps and creeps always return to the scene of the crime and wait for their victims..."
It was still early in the morning, so not many students were around. But the small crowd of students that were around immediately parted for the girls walking out from the school building.
Leading that group was a queen bee type of girl with dyed crimson hair and blue contacts, along with a crisp school uniform and skirt.
It was the same girl who had been up in Meggie's face before... though Meggie noticed that she had changed her getup a bit. Was she trying to play into the 'proper' type of school girl?
'Well, that doesn't change her ugly soul at all...'
Not that Meggie bothered to see if her soul was actually ugly. She could, but that'd be a waste of effort considering Meggie didn't even want to waste a breath on that poor excuse for a human being.
The girl with dyed red hair stepped forward and tossed her hair to the side like a villainess and laughed. After that, she crossed her arms and looked down on Emma, saying, "Well, well. Look what crawled out of the trash."
Meggie slowly exhaled.
'No, Meggie. No smacking people. Remember what Dad said. People here... especially people my age are very squishy. Can't do that... Don't do that. Let Emma handle it."
Emma flinched a bit. But she pursed her lips and stood strong, not saying a word.
'Good job, Emma! Ignore them! They're not worth your breath!'
Meggie silently applauded Emma and got ready to keep moving with her. But then she noticed a familiar face in the back of those girls. 'Hm?'
A cute girl with dirty blonde twin-tails. Eyes that were actually blue, unlike the queen bee girl in the front. And although she wore the school uniform, she also wore a cute and fashionable pink ribbon on her blouse, along with a white jade pendant.
'Tsuki?'
