Chapter 450: Our Hyunsung (2)

“The Guild Master of the Blue Guild?”

Uh…”

The two stood there with their mouths open, and even though they didn’t say anything, they looked as if they were asking what Kim Hyun-Sung was doing here. I wanted to ask the same question.

I could have never imagined that he would walk around the city by himself.

‘Damn. He’s such a righteous guy.’

It was highly likely that he couldn’t stand the sight of two men forcing a lone woman to go with them.

“Hello, Guild Master of the Blue Guild. I think there’s a misunderstanding here. We’re the Friendship Clan from Lindel and—”

“She doesn’t like what you’re doing. I don’t know what’s going on, but I suggest you stop here,” Kim Hyun-Sung interrupted.

“Miss Ki-Yeon, please say something…” Lee Chul-Woo asked.

He was asking me for help, but I had already cut off all ties with the Friendship Clan.

When my hands were finally free, I quickly moved over next to Kim Hyun-Sung.

I felt like trash, but I was done with the Friendship Clan

“Thank you for the help, Guild Master of the Blue Guild,” I said.

My attitude changed quickly as well.

“Miss Ki-Yeon!” Lee Chul-Woo called out.

“The expedition was fun, but this is the end, Mr. Chul-Woo. Please consider how rude your action was just now. As soon as I take care of the items we had obtained, I’ll send you the money immediately. I think it’s best if we contact each other after we have calmed down a bit,” I suggested.

“That’s…”

“The next time we meet, I hope we’ll meet with a smile,” I added.

As soon as I finished talking, they revealed gloomy looks. I felt kind of bad for Lee Chul-Woo, who looked as if he was about to cry, but my business with them was already finished. I was done checking everything I had to check, and I had already figured out the overall level of the current adventurers and their lifestyles.

It was a cold-hearted move on my side. Lee Chul-Woo was staring at me, but he quietly bowed upon noticing that Kim Hyun-Sung was looking at him.

“...I’m sorry, Miss Ki-Yeon. I wasn’t trying to hurt you… I think it’s best if we meet again after we have calmed down, as you suggested. I really enjoyed the expedition, and I really hope we can see each other again. I’ll wait at the inn we stayed at yesterday, so you can send the auction money there. Well then…” he requested.

“Take care. I won’t see you out,” I told him.

He looked as if he had lost everything, and Kim Tae-Geon also bowed toward me without saying anything before following Lee Chul-Woo. Gook Minji reacted the same way.

The fun was officially over.

I glanced at Kim Hyun-Sung, but he wasn’t looking at me.

‘He hasn’t noticed yet?’

I could have directly revealed my identity by removing my disguise somewhere and running back to him. However, this wasn’t so bad either. I was curious about his thoughts, after all. I wanted to know what he had been doing as well.

I considered the possibility of him finding out my identity in the middle of it, but…

‘He’s dense and slow on the uptake.’

I was sure that he wouldn’t figure it out unless I gave him hints. He wasn’t like Park Deok-Gu at all.

‘I think if Deok-Gu were the regressor, he would have stopped the threat or whatever the world was about to face in just three years.’

Of course, I was just joking, but the fact that I even thought about it spoke wonders.

Anyway, Kim Hyun-Sung was staring at me indifferently. He nodded once and continued walking.

‘He’s leaving just like that?’

I felt desperate.

“Guild master of the Blue Guild!’ I yelled.

Thankfully, he turned around.

“Yes?” Kim Hyun-Sung replied.

“Thank you. I was actually in a complicated situation just now,” I said.

“I just did what was right. Goodbye,” he said.

“Wait!’ I yelled again.

“Yes?”

“I’d like to buy you tea to express my gratitude. Do you have time?” I asked.

“You don’t need to do that,” he replied.

‘You slow-witted dumbass!’

I could finally understand why the women around him seemed frustrated every day. He was actually even worse than slow-witted. I was sure that Park Yeon-Joo, Jo Hye-Jin, Charlotte, and Kim Ye-Ri would be tormented by him forever.

I could finally understand how much they had been struggling since forever. I was sure that even if they gave Kim Hyun-Sung a massive hint about their feelings, he would still not notice it.

I had no other excuse to stop him. My smile was about to disappear, but I noticed Kim Hyun-Sung inspecting me.

‘What’s with him?’

“You guys look alike,” he commented.

“Excuse me?” I asked. My heart sank, but I exclaimed in joy inwardly when I heard his following words.

“It’s nothing. This must be fate, so how about we have a cup—no, how about we get something to eat?” he suggested.

‘I almost had a heart attack thinking that he recognized me. I guess it’s not that hard for him to notice that we look alike?’

I could consider myself lucky. The fact that he recognized my uncanny resemblance to Light Ki-Young meant that he was fond of Light Ki-Young.

Kim Hyun-Sung taking the initiative to offer dinner was rare. He was actually wary of eating with other people. It had been a long time since we arrived on this continent, so he had gotten a bit more relaxed lately.

However, when we first met, he wasn’t like this at all.

He didn’t even want to sit with other people, so I couldn’t help but feel happy to see his development. There were probably many reasons behind his change, but the truth was that he had become a bit more accommodating to others.

If he was making that offer simply because I resembled Light Ki-Young, then it meant that he was still really fond of me.

With that being said, I decided to shove my worries to the back of my mind as I replied, “Sure, let’s do that. It’s my honor to dine with the Guild Master of the Blue Guild.”

“...”

Kim Hyun-Sung blushed at that. For some reason, I wanted to tease him even more.

“Are you asking me out on a date?” I asked.

“N-No, it’s nothing like that. It’s just…” He stammered. It was kind of amusing because he wasn’t really the type of person to panic. Of course, his panic only lasted briefly.

After collecting his breath, he looked at me quietly and said, “I’m usually not like this, and I’m not really the type to invite others to eat with me or ask them for their time, but…”

“Yes?”

“I wanted to do it today,” he added.

‘Hyun-Sung, you’re such a playboy…’

His words weren’t anything special, but he was so handsome that I became sure that any words from his mouth were capable of shaking the heart of any woman out there. If someone else were here rather than me, then they would certainly join Kim Hyun-Sung’s harem.

“What a coincidence. I feel the same,” I told him.

“That really is a coincidence. Let’s get going,” he suggested.

“Are you… out here by yourself?” I asked.

“That’s right,” he replied.

“What about the other guild members…” I asked.

“I’m sure they’re still working out there. I came out because it has been a while since I got some fresh air, but I ended up here,” he replied.

“You must be frustrated,” I commented.

“Excuse me?”

“People usually go out for fresh air when they feel frustrated while working. That’s all I was saying, but looking at your face, it seems like there’s actually something bothering you. Did I hit the mark? Hehe,” I giggled.

“There’s… something that has been bothering me a bit. Anyway, you sound like you’re skilled at reading faces.” he pointed out.

“That’s not the case, but you seem like the type who wears his heart on his sleeves…” I said.

“Really?” he asked.

“Yup. You look indifferent, but I can tell the slight difference somehow,” I replied.

“I have never heard of that before,” he said.

“Really? That’s kind of surprising. I feel like you should have been hearing that often from the people around you…” I told him.

Haha,” Kim Hyun-Sung laughed awkwardly.

I could remember that his walking speed was faster than this, so when I saw how he was watching my walking speed, I couldn’t help but be convinced that he wasn’t as dense and slow-witted as I thought.

I was sure that the women who liked him liked this side of him a lot.

‘Shit, Hyun-Sung. You’re so cool. Don’t go overboard, man. You’re going to make me fall for you.’

I liked the fact that our conversation was going smoother than I had expected. He was trying his best in our conversation, even though his oratory stat was rare-ranked. The way he reacted and smiled at me whenever I said something made things a lot easier for me.

The blind date happened all of a sudden, but I didn’t feel out of place or uncomfortable. It felt like I was talking to him as usual, so I was able to talk to him about different topics, and I was sure that it was the same for him.

Our conversation kept going even after we had entered a restaurant.

The way he pulled out the chair for me was really unlike him.

“Have a seat,” Kim Hyun-Sung said.

“This is kind of embarrassing… You must be used to being with women,” I said.

“Not really. I’m not used to being around women at all,” he said.

“You don’t have to hide it. It’d be strange if there aren’t any women around the Guild Master of the Blue Guild. Otherwise, could I interpret your actions just now as you trying to impress me?” I asked.

...” Kim Hyun-Sung didn’t know what to say.

“I’m joking. I know you’re not that type of person,” I told him.

“What do you mean?” he asked.

“You’re famous. I can already tell just by your achievements in Lindel. Ah! Can I order wine?” I asked.

“Of course. I’m the one who invited you, after all,” he replied.

“Then, I’ll order whatever I want,” I said.

“Sure.”

I had been wanting to eat something expensive because the only tasty food I had eaten so far was sausage from that restaurant-cum-pub.

‘The atmosphere feels nice.’

From now on, I had to be careful about our conversation. I had to carefully take the lead because I wanted to know what he thought of me.

The atmosphere was nice, but there was no way that would be enough for him to talk about what had been bothering him recently or why he was acting strange lately.

Our lovely regressor wasn’t that talkative, so there was no way he would tell his problems to a woman he had just met.

Actually, it was rare for him to talk about his own issues. Therefore, there was a huge chance that he would draw a line in the type of topics we could talk about with each other.

‘Should I just seduce him?’

That was out of the question…

Kim Hyun-Sung had a harem, so there was a low chance that he would respond positively to a seduction.

It might be better if I kept my distance from him. After all, there were times when people would talk about their worries to strangers rather than to people they were close to for some reason. He liked me as well, so it could work.

I could tell him my worries first, then I would urge him to tell me his worries.

This was the best method…

I wanted to get straight to the point, but it would only make him wary of me. The first step of the plan was to enjoy the atmosphere, and the next step would be to poke around.

“Did you just come out from the museum?” Kim Hyun-Sung asked.

“Yes. It was a really nice place. I liked the fact that they offer Adventurer insurance since the worst-case scenario could be averted. Of course, they’re aware that the museum is dangerous, but with insurance, they wouldn’t be that worried about going into battle,” I replied.

We started off by talking about a topic familiar to us both.

“I’ve actually seen you from afar before. Back then, I thought you were handsome. Up close, I can see that you’re very attractive. You hear that often, right?” I asked.

“I don’t. Just once in a while,” he replied.

Hehe,” I giggled.

I didn’t forget to make a few jokes and tease him.

We ended up talking for hours on end. I was worried that he was getting bored, but it didn’t seem to be the case. His face looked a bit flushed, so I couldn’t help but think that he was getting drunk.

The distance between our chairs started to get closer and closer as he slowly put his guard down.

The problem was…

‘Aren’t we sitting a bit too close now? Shit.’

The atmosphere had become so good to point that I had to think about slightly widening the distance between us.
