Chapter 355: Countdown

"Gurgle, gurgle..."

Deep sea, Fish-man Tribe.

Since the young and strong fish-men returned to the tribe some time ago to take their families away, the tribe has seemed somewhat desolate.

The Fish-man Chieftain stepped into the ancestral temple. "Old Chieftain, you asked for me."

"I heard you plan to send more of our people out, even gamble the future of the Fish-man Tribe on it."

The Fish-man Chieftain nodded. "That's right."

He paused. "I've been to see it. It's good there. And Qin treats fish-men without discrimination. This is our hope to leave this world."

The Old Chieftain raised his head, his deep pupils filled with complexity. "You are playing with the fate of the tribe."

The Fish-man Chieftain's attitude was firm. "I trust my sense of smell. Qin is a trustworthy friend."

"Yes, he is a good man now. But you must know, humans have always been the most fickle. He is your friend today, but tomorrow, for profit, he can grind your bones and suck out your marrow." The Old Chieftain's tone was grave.

The Fish-man Chieftain paused for a moment, then slowly said, "I... still choose to believe him."

Seeing this, the Old Chieftain took a deep look at the Fish-man Chieftain, then finally smiled with understanding. "You are very much like me, especially in this stubbornness."

"Since this is your choice, it's useless for me to stop you. After all, you are now the chieftain of our tribe." Having said this, the Old Chieftain closed his eyes, leaned back, and lay on the chair.

"Will you come with me?" the Fish-man Chieftain inquired.

The Old Chieftain looked at the ceiling with his cloudy eyes. "The tribe is too old, and I am too old. I will stay and rot with the tribe. I no longer belong to this era. You are in the prime of your life. The era that belongs to you has only just begun."

...

"Guild Leader, the Fish-man Tribe is willing to leave with us." Mogu stood with his arms crossed, the Fish-man Chieftain following behind him.

"Welcome." Qin Ziwen stepped forward and extended his hand.

The Fish-man Chieftain extended his right hand. One large and one small hand clasped together.

The sea surface sparkled, ever since the heavy rain passed.

Several days in a row had been clear and sunny.

The island's development was proceeding smoothly. Resources on several surrounding islands were being heavily logged. Meanwhile, on the beaches, simple salt pans were being set up one after another. Under the scorching sun, baskets of moist coarse salt were collected, then processed into sea salt through high-temperature roasting.

Large quantities of salted fish were being cured and stored in the warehouse, serving as reserve food.

The residential complex entered a stable development lull period.

"Roar~" On the beach of one island, a massive black shadow, roughly as tall as the surrounding coconut trees, charged forward, each step leaving deep footprints in the sand.

In front of it, a terror bird was fleeing in panic.

The large and small figures fled one after the other, but the terror bird's speed was still a step too slow. Little Black One, starting later but arriving first, thrust its neck forward, bit the terror bird's spine, then flung it upward. The terror bird soared into the air and crashed heavily to the ground, its two long legs flailing in the air.

Little Black One planted a foot on its back, its two front claws hooking into the bird's body. The terror bird was scared witless. Having lived on the island for so long with almost no natural predators, it had never imagined it would one day encounter a Tarbosaurus.

"Gah! Gah!"

The terror bird's terrified cries were abruptly cut short.

Little Black One bit into its body, like a juicy meat pie bursting with filling.

Gulping it down whole, it swallowed the bird in two or three bites.

As its mouth opened and closed, hot breath carrying a strong scent of blood wafted from its maw.

Little Black One's face vividly displayed an expression of satisfied contentment.

This primitive hunt made it feel an unparalleled sense of pleasure.

"Let's go, to the north side of the island. There are saltwater crocodiles over there." Qin Ziwu shouted from behind.

Only after being called several times did Little Black One slowly turn around, wagging its tail, and follow behind Qin Ziwu.

Since the Fish-man Tribe fully joined Home, the residential complex's development entered a fast track.

Little Black One was transported by ship to the surrounding islands. On one hand, this was to help clear the islands of large beasts; on the other hand, it was to cultivate its hunting skills.

Under the guidance of the Mother Tarbosaurus in the Blood Sand Gladiator Arena, Little Black One and Little White Dragon's hunting skills had made significant progress. However, relying solely on training couldn't turn those skills into muscle memory.

Therefore, Qin Ziwen sent them to the islands for practical combat training. Little Black One was handed over to Qin Ziwu to lead, while on the other side, Qin Ziwen took Little White Dragon and Chitu on patrol hunts in the surrounding areas.

"Hisss!"

Little White Dragon glared fiercely at the over-two-meter-long sea lizard in front of it.

For Little White Dragon, who was less than half a meter tall, this sea lizard, which Little Black One could casually crush underfoot, was enough to become the greatest enemy of its life.

The sea lizard tilted its head, its vertical pupils fixed on the prey in front of it... and the human behind it.

Compared to this little white snack, it felt the human behind it was more threatening.

In recent days, the humans had been developing the island extensively.

The commotion from felling trees and catching seafood was immense, disturbing it, who lived in the shallow sea area.

After several days of observation, it concluded that humans were dangerous.

They had long sticks and a method to attack from a distance.

Seeing the sea lizard ignore it, Little White Dragon let out another fierce cry, then opened its mouth and spat out a stream of icy cold air.

The airflow turned into an icy mist in the air, but after flying a few dozen centimeters, it quickly dissolved in the surrounding air and dispersed rapidly.

By the time it blew onto the sea lizard's face, only a slight warm breeze remained. The lizard blinked its eyelids, then quickly darted out, fleeing rapidly toward the sea behind it.

"Neigh—"

A black shadow suddenly shot out from behind it. Chitu kicked the sea lizard in the face, sending it tumbling back to its original spot.

Then it blocked its retreat.

Losing its escape route, the sea lizard turned its head anxiously, looking at Little White Dragon charging from behind. It let out a warning sound from its throat. Seeing the other continue to approach, it finally couldn't suppress its aggression any longer and charged directly at its opponent.

Qin Ziwen stood with his arms crossed, watching Little White Dragon and the sea lizard fight back and forth. The two were truly well-matched adversaries, evenly skilled, unable to determine a clear winner for the time being.

Although Little White Dragon was born with innate talent, a natural-born Superhuman Tarbosaurus,

it had been born for less than a month. Fighting an adult sea lizard, it was crushed in terms of combat experience and was also inferior in size.

Its strength lay in its slightly superior physical attributes, plus its ability to control cold air currents, which to some extent affected the sea lizard's movements.

After about half an hour, Little White Dragon had many bite wounds on its body, its blood dyeing its form crimson. Opposite it, the sea lizard lay on the ground, covered in a thin layer of frost, as if just pulled from a freezer, its body stiff from the cold.

"Come and eat this." Qin Ziwen took out the Healing Spring and Sea Pear Fruit. One could accelerate wound healing, the other could treat toxins and prevent wound infection and inflammation.

Little White Dragon clambered up from the ground, trotted over to hug its master's leg, raised its head, and obediently opened its mouth.
