Chapter 296: Hidden Achievement: The Bloody Road

"No one left? Did we kill them all?" Cao Biansheng picked up the knife he had dropped earlier, looking somewhat bewildered.

During the battle just now, Du Yu had consciously let him take the kills, mostly injuring enemies without finishing them off.

"There are a few prisoners left. They didn't resist when we came up, just surrendered immediately," Qin Ziwu patted his shoulder, then stepped past him, his gaze falling on the dense crowd packed in the corridor behind them.

The group following behind could truly be described as having been fished out from a sea of blood.

Their armor was completely covered in blood.

They were murderous and fierce, their eyes savage.

After experiencing this bloody battle, Qin Ziwu could sense that the entire team had undergone some kind of metamorphosis.

This was different from using giant crossbows and hand crossbows for ranged attacks. This was genuine, close-quarters, hand-to-hand slaughter.

Hearing that there was no resistance, that they had simply surrendered, Cao Biansheng's brow furrowed almost imperceptibly. Would killing such people still count as kills?

"What should we do with these prisoners?" Cao Biansheng swept his gaze over the kneeling prisoners, his eyes flicking toward their necks.

"Kill them all, eliminate the root of the problem," Qin Ziwu said casually.

Hearing these words, the group of prisoners squatting on the ground trembled. Many of their bodies shook, their eyes brimming with bitterness.

"I think I'm about to break through. You keep at it." Qin Ziwu patted Cao Biansheng's shoulder. As his words fell, he closed his eyes, relaxed his body, and the twin swords in his hands unconsciously dropped, rolling twice before landing at the feet of two prisoners squatting nearby.

The two prisoners exchanged a glance and without hesitation grabbed for the hilts on the ground.

Since they weren't going to be allowed to live, they'd drag a couple down with them before they died! This person looked like he had some status; killing him would definitely be worth it!

The warm hilts gripped in their hands, they had just begun to show a hint of joy.

A voice filled with suppressed excitement and brutality sounded in their ears, "You grabbed the knives, didn't you? I saw it!!"

As the words fell, the sound of rushing wind came.

The head of the person on the left snapped off and fell to the ground with a crack, a column of blood spurting two meters high. The person on the right looked up, his face full of shock.

Before he could react, a foot slammed into his chest. Cao Biansheng charged forward, thrusting the blade into his heart.

Feeling that brand new power spontaneously arising within his body, Cao Biansheng was ecstatic. "Hahahaha, I did it, I did it!"

Not far away by the corridor, Qin Ziwen withdrew his gaze. He looked at Chitu beside him. In this battle, Chitu had also contributed significantly. With its robust physique, it had mostly charged at the forefront when breaking down doors.

Chitu's originally smooth skin was now covered in wounds everywhere, looking extremely fierce.

Du Yu, standing on the right, had his eyes closed, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, holding a long spear in his embrace.

Even with Du Yu's level of martial skill, after fighting his way up, his iron armor was also covered in scars, dense and numerous like carvings.

He had a wound on his face, the most serious one grazing his cheek and nearly injuring his eye.

"What are our casualties like?" Qin Ziwen summoned Wang Yun.

"Three dead, thirty-four seriously injured, minor injuries... basically everyone is injured. Two of the three fish-men died, one is seriously injured."

Hearing Wang Yun's report, Qin Ziwen fell silent. "The seriously injured are mostly external wounds, right? Spare no cost, use the Healing Spring to pour into them, we must bring them back."

"Yes."

"Aside from the seriously injured members, tally the three who died. See if they have any family left. The compensation work must be handled properly," Qin Ziwen emphasized.

"Yes," Wang Yun nodded silently.

Qin Ziwen closed his eyes and rubbed his temples.

Even with such a big advantage on their side, having made all sorts of preparations in advance, everyone armored, equipment superior, and superhumans charging at the front, they still suffered such heavy casualties.

On one hand, it was the advantage of terrain. On the other hand, it was also because the remaining Blood Script members inside the Red Cauldron Tower were sufficiently insane, fearless of death.

Wang Yun added, "Guild Leader, while cleaning up just now, someone saw a corpse in a room nearby. Completely naked, tied to the ground. Probably a suicide."

"How do you commit suicide when you're tied up?"

"Probably bit his tongue. The tongue root fell back, and combined with massive bleeding in the oral cavity and soft tissue blocking the trachea, it caused asphyxiation." Wang Yun sounded somewhat impressed. "Biting your tongue hurts a lot. To be able to bite through it, this was a tough person."

Qin Ziwen didn't pay attention to such minor matters. His emotions were still focused on the casualty numbers. "Hmm, leave the bodies and such for Yang Long and his people to clean up. Remember to collect the supplies in the building. Take anything of value. This battle can't have been fought for nothing."

Not long after Wang Yun left, Cao Biansheng walked over and bowed deeply. "Guild Leader, I broke through."

"Breaking through is good."

Seeing that the Guild Leader didn't ask about his abilities after breaking through, Cao Biansheng felt a bit uncomfortable, like a child who just got something good with nowhere to show it off.

He followed behind Qin Ziwen, wanting to say something, but noticed the Guild Leader's expression wasn't good.

Looking around, he noticed the atmosphere in the air was somewhat oppressive. Cao Biansheng suddenly realized something and felt ashamed.

He closed his mouth and obediently followed behind. Hesitating for a moment, Cao Biansheng asked quietly, "Guild Leader, what are the casualties like?"

"Three dead, thirty-four seriously injured."

Arriving downstairs, Qin Ziwen asked Yang Long about the arrangements for the seriously injured.

Yang Long quickly said, "Guild Leader Qin, they're on every floor. These injured can't be jostled, so I haven't moved them much. They're basically settled in place."

"Hmm," Qin Ziwen looked at the open space beside him. "Activate the Anchor Point."

Ripples appeared in the void. From within the rolling ripples, a thick black mist surged forth. From deep within the black mist, a ship's anchor broke through, growing from small to large, becoming clearer and clearer.

[Warning, an Anchor Point is attempting to lock onto the tower.] Yang Long heard Home's notification in his ear.

He stared blankly at the scene before him. So this was how that ship's anchor descended upon the urban village that day.

That day, when the Anchor Point locked onto the urban village, he wasn't in the courtyard. By the time he arrived, the Anchor Point was already locked.

The massive ship's anchor broke through the black mist, finally landing in reality.

"Boom—"

A dull, heavy sound reached the ears of everyone present.

A huge, black, translucent ship's anchor lay horizontally in the room. As its ripples spread, a bronze door was pushed open from a crack in space.

Cao Biansheng hurried upstairs to call people, bringing a group to go through the Anchor Point door to Home to fetch the Healing Spring.

Just as everyone was busy, a voice sounded in Qin Ziwen's ear.

[Detected that the Home Master has achieved the hidden achievement: Bloody Path (I)] (Expandable)

[Reward obtained: Function Card: Level 1 Anchor Link *1]

The Home little glowing ball materialized out of thin air, simultaneously displaying a light screen beside it. The text on the light screen was identical to the voice in his ear.

With just one glance, Qin Ziwen noticed that his Home little glowing ball seemed different from before.

Previously, his Home little glowing ball was pure white. Now, a very clear red pattern had appeared on the surface of the glowing ball.
