Chapter 234: Once the ship is built, it will be their doomsday.

"There's actually a path!"

"A path leading to the opposite island!"

At dawn, the earliest risers spotted this clear thoroughway at a glance.

News spread from one to ten, and from ten to a hundred.

Soon, a large crowd gathered at the entrance of the residential complex.

"If you ask me, this is just the low tide."

"Who would have thought there'd be such a long 'sea-foraging highway' here, directly connecting to the island opposite."

"That island is much larger; the resources on it must be far more abundant."

The island being discussed by the crowd was precisely the one located east of the residential complex.

This island wasn't the largest in the vicinity, but it was certainly much bigger than the tiny islet they currently stood on.

The island was covered in trees, and one could even see seabirds taking off and landing.

The islet beneath their feet and the island opposite both lay along this straight isthmus line.

Further north of that island, about one or two kilometers away, was the largest island in this archipelago, one that even had small hills.

"This low tide has a time limit; it's just unclear whether it's a diurnal tide or a semi-diurnal tide here," murmured a resident who had lived by the sea.

After inquiries from those who didn't understand, they learned that tides differ depending on the terrain.

A semi-diurnal tide experiences two cycles of high and low tide in a day. Each cycle of high and low tide combined lasts about twelve hours.

A diurnal tide, however, experiences only one cycle in a day, with the combined high and low tide lasting around twenty-four hours.

But some speculated, "We might not even be on Earth anymore. Forget a twelve-hour low tide; a twenty-four-hour low tide is entirely possible."

"How long it will last is hard to say, but it's probably not a semi-diurnal tide. The tide hadn't receded yesterday evening; we only saw it recede this morning, indicating a longer tidal cycle."

Qin Ziwen was also somewhat surprised. After pondering for a moment, he made a decision. "First, assemble an elite team to go check out the opposite island and gather intelligence. Once we confirm the tidal cycle, we can proceed with large-scale exploration."

With the node in place, once safety is confirmed over there, the node can be opened directly.

He wasn't the only one with this idea.

Seeing this scene, Zou Jianghe quickly turned to ask Huang Tao, "How's the boat construction going?"

With the Alliance's development, and thanks to the first-mover advantage of the Carpenter's Hut, Huang Tao had established his position within the Alliance regarding carpentry.

Any cards related to or complementing this field had basically been acquired by Huang Tao through various means.

Thus, the shipbuilding task had also been assigned to Huang Tao by Zou Jianghe.

"One boat has already been built," Huang Tao said hesitantly. "But initially, we prepared a five-meter-long boat, intended for fishing and sailing near the island's coast. Sailing such a long distance might involve significant risk."

Zou Jianghe replied, "It's fine. Having a boat is better than having none. First, prepare a group who can swim. Don't make the group too large; let's go check out the situation on the other side first."

While everyone was discussing, some bold individuals had already left the islet and stepped onto the exposed mudflats.

Shells and starfish were scattered everywhere on the mudflats, and small fish were trapped in some of the puddles.

In the sky, a few puffins circled, occasionally swooping down to snatch silver fish from the puddles, strutting with an utterly arrogant gait.

Seeing more and more people heading down to the sea, many who were still observing couldn't hold back any longer.

As the main crowd moved down and the number of residents on the mudflats increased, Qin Ziwen thought for a moment and instructed Jia Liangcai to have people watch for the incoming tide. At the first sign of the tide rising, those on the mudflats were to return.

Afterwards, Qin Ziwen led his team, stepping across the mudflats to reach the opposite island.

Upon landing, they found the island to be roughly five to six times the size of their residential complex. A few coconut trees stood on the outer sandy beach, and the central area was a dense forest.

Within the central forest, the trees were densely packed with bird nests.

Sensing the approach of people, a swarm of puffins flew out from the nests all at once, crying out warily.

Animals on the island seemed somewhat scarce. Besides the puffins, some people discovered a few taipan snakes by the shore, along with some other nearshore aquatic creatures.

They didn't dare get close, having heard that this type of snake possesses extremely potent venom.

After circling the island and arriving at the northern beach, Qin Ziwen stopped.

His gaze fell upon another island to the north.

On the beach opposite that island, another group of people stood facing them from a distance.

"So they are indeed on that island."

Upon noticing Qin Ziwen's group, those people didn't greet them or wave. They simply stared. A few individuals from their group retreated, disappearing into the forest behind them.

Qin Ziwen frowned slightly and took out the binoculars he carried with him.

As the lens zoomed in.

The faces in the viewfinder gradually became clear.

He noticed that the expressions on these people's faces were indescribably cold. Some looked towards his group and licked their lips.

The weapons in their hands were a motley assortment, clearly showing signs of being homemade, though some appeared to have been processed or refined.

"So this is the other residential complex," Zou Jianghe said, hearing the commotion. He walked over and stood not far from Qin Ziwen.

...

"That's right. It seems that's the opposing side," said a tall young man on the beach, wearing a white shirt, with narrow, upturned eyes, and holding a long spear. He turned to look at the burly man behind him. "We discovered their complex was still on that isolated reef yesterday, and this morning they dare to get this close to us. If there wasn't a stretch of sea between us, I'd really want to charge over and finish them all off!"

Yang Long glanced at the somewhat crazily speaking young man in the white shirt, his brow furrowing almost imperceptibly. "Pu Jia, don't underestimate them. After all, they are opponents who, like us, have passed through two maps."

The corners of Pu Jia's lips lifted. "So what if they passed two maps? They were just lucky enough to be matched with us. Once our ships are ready, it will be their doomsday."

"In my opinion, competing with them on task points is the stupidest method. The best way is to charge straight over, kill all the men, and bring all the women back."

Hearing Pu Jia's words, the group of young and strong men and women following him, regardless of age, all let out ambiguous, knowing laughs.

Yang Long turned around, waved to the team members behind him, and then led them towards the other side of the island.

A team member following Yang Long whispered, "Brother Long, it feels like the people from Blood Script are all a bit... not normal."

Another team member nearby chuckled. "You need to 'feel' it? Isn't it obvious? I thought our urban village was already high-pressure enough, but the people from these office buildings are basically all like lunatics. I heard many of them inside have eaten..."

"Enough," Yang Long interrupted the team member. Some things should be said, some things shouldn't.

"First, cooperate with Blood Script to get the ships built. Then, we'll find a way to test the opponent's strength. I have a feeling this opponent isn't as simple as they seem." A shadow of gloom flashed through Yang Long's eyes.

Unlike the arrogance of the Blood Script group, Yang Long remembered one thing.

The geographical positioning for both sides this time was adjusted based on the point comparison from the previous map.

If his feeling wasn't wrong, their geographical position seemed to be slightly more advantageous.

Damn, I hate that Zou Jianghe, the MC is so stupid, it's way past time to kill that guy or at least make him submit.
