Alcides actually got pushed back by a couple feet from the hit that Namea had did to him. The power and strength of a Nemean Lion is not something to underestimate after all. Even Alcides could barely believe that the player in front of him managed to overpower him for a few seconds. He was the one that got pushed back and not the other way around.
It is not just getting pushed back as there are claw marks seen on Alcides’ arm as if a wild massive feral cat beast scratched him. The gauntlets that Namea is wearing is definitely something that can deal more damage that it looks. It also has the ability to perform slash attacks despite seeing that the strike earlier was definitely a punch.
"Alcides, do you need our help?" Nomios asked.
"I am fine. Deal with the other monsters instead. They have become even more aggressive than before and are now flooding in. We cannot let them be for now. I can hold up this enemy on my own." Alcides stated as he knew that the most powerful enemy now is the player before him and not some demigod level monster.
The clash between Alcides and Namea started and no one would want to get near them because each of their attacks releases a powerful shockwave that kills any monster that is nearby. The battle between the two powerful players got even the monsters staying out of their way. Even the demigod level monsters do not want to meddle because of what Namea did to one that tried to.
One of the demigod level monsters tried to strike at Alcides as a way to help Namea but it got killed by the latter instead. Namea thought that the monster was an eyesore and not really much of a help which is why they got torn to shreds by her. Namea then looked back at the monsters behind her and glared at them to never intervene as she is now having fun.
The monsters already knew that stare and it was something all apex predators in the monster world has. It was the stare of a being that will tear anyone that gets in their way even if they are allies at the moment. Alcides found it funny because he now knows of the tendencies that this enemy player has. He could already sum up what she is and it is something that he has encountered more than once.
"A battle junkie. It seems that more and more powerful players have that kind of attitude. Is it that common because they love to fight and their love to fight translates to them being powerful?" Alcides muttered.
"Achoo. Why do I feel like someone is talking about me?" Adrian stated as he is currently watching what is unfolding on the foot of Olympus on a demon eye crystal.
"You look like you are starting to struggle in maintaining that kind of form. Your breathing has become raggedy and you could be seen having some involuntary twitching. It seems that you cannot control that form that much after all even if it is incredibly powerful." Alcides stated as he noticed that the intensity that Namea shown earlier has mellowed up a bit.
It is a given that Alcides also started to take the match more serious than before but even that should not be able to make Namea slow down. Even if a player is of a monster race, they still cannot overcome the most fundamental thing that a living being has and that is stamina. The Nemean Lion is known for its tough defenses and even partial immunity to magic but it is also a beast that needs to replenish energy a lot.
Alcides is not speaking nonsense when he said that Namea is not performing as well as before. Namea is also just like the other players and have also just obtained the demigod status a few weeks ago. She has yet to fully get used to using her newfound abilities even if she is a battle junkie. Being an Apostle of Typhon has severely limited her fighting capacity as she was sent more on missions to retrieve things than on actual fights.
"Tch! This is why I hate people like you. They are already strong but also have a sharp mind." Namea stated as her eyes changed to a crazier but controlled crazy look.
If Namea was an animal just thrashing about and using her pure physical prowess to overpower, the shift this time has made her into a predator that has acknowledged another predator. Alcides and Namea suddenly had this distinct air around them as if they are two apex predators fighting to win a new territory.
Alcides also became serious as well and tensed up since he knows that Namea is now more focused than ever. If there is one thing that Alcides know is that a battle junkie that has its serious switch flipped is something like a calamity. Namea did not wait for Alcides to even more as she already kicked everything off as she lunged in all fours.
Namea suddenly shifted to a quadruped form to increase her speed and then shift back to a humanoid form once she reached Alcides. Namea did not even restrict her strength as she proceeded to channel a lot of mana into her gauntlets. The attack is two times more powerful than the previous one that injured Diamachi earlier.
Namea thought that she will have the upper hand because Alcides could be seen slow in reacting. She will be able to punch Alcides’ side rib and this will result in him being incapacitated even if they have a powerful healer. Namea’s attacks inflict a debuff that reduces healing and increases internal injuries so she just needs one clear hit.
