Enlightenment used to mean seclusion in a mist-wreathed cave. In Kunxu City, it means taking out a Mana Loan with 29.9 % karmic interest.

Spirit-root transplants come with payment plans, breathing techniques are locked behind paywalls, and your first meridian won’t open unless you swipe a “QiCard.”

That’s the brutal marketplace Zhang Yu wakes up to after his soul is shoved into the body of a penniless high-schooler—one already drowning in soul-devouring debt.

With only thirty days before the collectors start carving repayments from his flesh, Zhang Yu must monetize every heartbeat just to stay alive.

He livestreams back-alley sparring matches, peddles black-market talismans between classes, and negotiates mid-fight sponsorship deals to afford tomorrow’s cultivation pills.

Yet the higher he claws—from broke freshman to headline-making “High-School Saint”—the more he uncovers the engines grinding his classmates into golden dust: predatory fintech sects, exam-hall death matches, and an influencer economy that feeds on shattered dreams.

If you’ve ever felt the squeeze of tuition bills or the rush of a last-second power-up, Zhang Yu’s frantic hustle through monetized immortality will feel all too hilariously—and terrifyingly—familiar.

Original description:

Elder: “Do you seek revenge?”

Young Man: “I've been repeatedly humiliated by powerful cultivators, treated as trash by my Master. How could I not want revenge?”

The Elder patted the Young Man's head and sighed, “Good child, I shall impart cultivation to you."

The Young Man gasped, “Senior! How can this be?”

The Elder extended his hand: “Give me your phone.”

The Young Man watched the changes on his phone, shocked: “Senior! Where did this hundred years of cultivation come from?”

The Elder smiled faintly: “Good child, this is your reserve cultivation from the Heavenly Court. You can draw upon it instantly whenever needed, so you'll never be insulted again.”

The Young Man frowned: “Isn't this... a Mana Loan? I'm afraid”

Elder: “The Heavenly Court is a major platform. New users borrowing 100 years of cultivation get 30 days interest-free, and the daily interest is as low as half a day's cultivation—less than a full cycle of your meditation!”

Zhang Yu snorted coldly and closed the advertisement above. Collapse

    Do not recommend.

It's boring. The same hook of exploitation in every situation. The world building is near zero. If you don't enjoy school and tournament, just bail out.

Agreed, there is nothing interesting in this novel. At the start the dystopian cultivation world felt too f#cking crazy, it was like second coming of bad borne blood to me but soon it becomes boring to read.
I would argue that there is definitely much more better things to read in your library but the cultivation junkies love their cultivation, so if you like cultivation and cultivation with a bit of humour, it should be good for you

I love that the side characters have a reason to move forward, even more than the hero himself, some of them carry the fate of millions of people on their shoulders but still lose against the hero, showing the cruelty of reality and his creativity

Up to chapter 600 none, since mostly everyone is sterilized and they are extra extra extra focused on improving themselves so there’s no time for romance for anyone. Maybe in the future when the mc has more leisure he might find some romance with someone, but I think that will only be at the very end. Right now the mc just has a real brotherly friendship with a girl, but you can just imagine her as a bro since she acts like one. If anyone has romance with the mc it would be her but I’m happy with the bromance between them too

The story is absurd and I love it

It mixes the typical cultivation genre with a modern setting competitive school environment. The length they go for grades is ridiculous. The common sense in the world is just interesting to read about

There are not face slap, its more of students struggling to rank and get to a top uni (sect)

Beside that the character are great. I love the female lead. She an actual character and friend to the MC. Which is so rare in the cutlivation setting. Plus there are pretty developed minor character. One is even an interesting foil to the MC.

I highly recommend to read it or if you want to binge, give it a year or two to buffer more chapters. 123 isn't really enough monk
