Hardworking Protagonist: Yes, Interesting Side Cast: Yes, World Building: Yes, Overpowered Protagonist: Yes, Transmigration: Yes.

Atticus faced the worst day of his life: his heart was shattered, and he was suddenly killed in his home, only to wake up in a magical realm as the heir to one of the most powerful families in the human domain.

Fueled by determination, he vowed to grow stronger and exact his vengeance on whoever killed and brought him to this world, no matter the cost.

***

A/N
1. There's no harem.
2. The MC cares only about himself and his family. He doesn't mind crossing the line if it means he can keep himself and his family safe.
3. He has an extremely vengeful personality. Regardless of the reason or what you're going through, he doesn't care. What matters is that you hurt him, and that's all he needs.
4. There will be no 'hiding of strength.' He'll be cautious about what he shows, but he won't lose if he can help it.
5. The MC works hard for his strength; don't be fooled by the system tag.
6. Lastly, if you have any semblance of liking for this novel, give me your everything, hahaha. Just kidding, please give me power stones and drop reviews. Thank you! Collapse

this is an amazing novel, with op mc, smart af, and great world-building. the pace has decreased recently but is still full of potential. What's important in a novel is that the character doesn't contradict himself, and thus far he or the plot hasn't done so, and that makes the storyline logical.

I dropped this novel becuz of a reason I forgot, so I checked and thought maybe I had overreacted. I dropped when he awakened his bloodline, re-read that and then I remember that this shit is so f#cking lame.

The Novel started out decent. It had potential. Good characters, nice world building and decent plot. But Academy arc has been such a downer. Dropping it.

Just so people are aware, there seem to be a LOT of people who have barely commented before on anything who seem to be OBSESSED with this novel and who seem to take criticisms of it personally and downvote and insult you to hell for it. If you do decide to read this novel, then unless you enjoy it I'd probably avoid commenting on the chapters.

Not sure which genres/types of novels you prefer, so will just give a variety. There will definetly be some I've forgotten to add, but there should hopefully be enough here that at least one interests you. All of these are here on Ranobes - Idk why the links to them all aren't working correctly, but just search the exact name I put here and you'll find them all.

First some that i've either finished reading or paused to stockpile:
The Legendary Mechanic (Complete at 1463.)
Mother of Learning (Complete at 106.)
Kill the Hero (Complete at 275.)
The Game at Carousel: A Horror Movie LitRPG (Ongoing at Arc 2 Chap 60. I paused to stockpile at end of Arc 1)

        Ones i'm currently reading:
Can a Scholar Be Called a Villain (Ongoing at Book 2 Chapter 15.)
Ascending the Heavens as an Evil God (Ongoing at 583.)
Ascension Through Skills (Ongoing at 199.)
Creating Heavenly Laws (Ongoing at 134.)
        Disaster Strikes (Ongoing at 65.)
Following a Hundred Years of Cultivation, I'm dying Before I Got Cheats (Ongoing at 602. Currently at 419.)

Some really good one's I read a lot of, paused to stockpile and then never went back yet (but would definetly still reccomend and plan to go back eventually):
Top Tier Providence, Secretly Cultivate for a Thousnd Years (Complete at 1192. I paused at 878.)
Birth of the Demonic Sword (Complete at 2364. I paused at 1685.)
My Longevity Simulation (VERY good, but translation has been dropped. I paused to stockpile at 290 and the translation got to 332 before being dropped.)
My Descendant Begged Me To Help Him Just After I Became A God (Ongoing at 542. I paused at 328.)
I Was Mistaken as a Monstrous Genius Actor (Ongoing at 203. I paused at 136.)

Dropped at Chapter 95. It started off very well, with the MC being consistent and fairly smart at piecing things together.

Sadly, lately, the author has decided to completely change the MCs core beliefs/values to make him more like a typical, normal MC that helps everyone. The main reason being that the author needed a reason for the MC to care about this random girl in the camp that, according to his previously established character, he wouldn't have cared about at all.

Initially we are told/shown that he only cares about those he considers family, doesn't give a shit about anyone else and makes sure to get revenge on anyone who wrongs him no matter what. Nothing new or unique, but it was refreshing to see that he actually stuck to those characteristics. Especially the one about not caring about others who he doesn't consider family. But of course, this doesn't last. MC isn't even sure why, but he interferes with this random girl who is competitive with him solely because he she is a kid (as is he) who is being forced to train extremely hard by her father. Then, later, he decides to save his whole class as well, with only a millisecond of hesitation. He then, supposedly due to wanting to repay an instructor, decides to leave with a bunch of students, despite just saying that he wouldn't help everyone and that he was going to leave with just his small group.

It's clear that the author is just going to come up with excuses or reasons for the MC to act like a normal, generic character, rather than sticking to his original flawed character traits.

To be clear. I'm not saying that these choices are wrong by any means. Just that it's a shame how his initial personality was ignored and changed to make him act more generic and nice. I definetly have a bias towards smart, ruthless and villainous MCs currently, since I've gotten bored of the typical goody, helpful MCs. If you are fine with those types of MCs though, I'm sure you will enjoy this novel. MC is (was) fairly smart, has extremely high talent but is also extremely hardworking and can control all the elements.

Sadly there doesn't seem to be many that have this theme and stick to it all the way. Here are a few of different genres where MC is fairly consistent in his treatment of close friends/family and doesn't just help people randomly unless there is an incentive/reward.

These will all be available here on Ranobes. Novel name in bold, followed by a short description related to how MC acts/cares about others. Then will mention where I'm personally up to and where the translation is at.

Can a Scholar Be Called a Villain
MC is a proper villain and goes around hunting Protagonists. He has no qualms betraying anyone if it benefits him, is smart and ruthless.
Currently caught up with translation - Volume 1 is complete (133 chaps) and there is the first Chap of Volume 2.

        My Longevity Simulation
MC has the ability to basically turn his lived life into a Illusion/Simulation and restart from set Anchors. Think of it like a Rougelike. He restarts from the start [or a set checkpoint] whilst retaining all his memories alongside a specific bonus he can choose. Because he can do this, he is able to change how he interacts with others - in one life he may be close friends with someone, in another he could be enemies. MC isn't ruthless, a Villain or extremely talented, but he is smart and makes good use of his cheat. The author is VERY Good at calling back to things as well as foreshadowing. Highly reccomend.
Currently caught up with translation - up to Chapter 214.

        Ascension Through Skills
MC is going through multiple floors of a labyrinth as a regressor. He is in the "Solo" difficulty, so hes the only challenger in his instance but there is a forum to chat with other people from different difficulties as well as other Solo difficulty people. He sometimes gets summoned back to earth alongside everyone else to do a challenge or defend against some monster waves, where he can interact with others again. The main bulk is MC and a Ghost friend going through floors though. He has 2 friends from Solo mode who he helps give advice and train, but doesnt really care much about others. He is fine helping improve things for everyone in the long run, but doesnt want to be the one managing them all. Hes not evil or ruthless, but is very determined at getting stronger.
Currently caught up with translation - up to Chapter 143.

        Birth of the Demonic Sword
MC only cares about a few people, and is fine being ruthless to anyone else. The main good point of this was that the MC didnt suddenly get stronger out of nowhere to fit the situation he was in. He needed to have sufficient time and resources to get stronger, so if that meant he made an enemy out of someone massively stronger than him, he had to think properly about how to handle the situation, which involved hiding and slowly improving himself if necessary. MC was definetly ruthless and demonic and only cared about those close to him.
Its pretty good, but its been a while since i read it so my memory may be off. I left it to stockpile a while back, but its since been completed. Will go back to it eventually.
Got to chapter 1685 - Novel is complete at 2364 chaps.

Hopefully this helps you, or anyone else reading this. Ive tried to include a variety of different genre and styles of MCs.

"Family" thing doesn't matter at all. It was said so in Chapter 49:
Atticus was focused primarily on himself and his family. He considered trustworthy friends as part of his family.

Although he had always maintained an indifference personality towards others, it doesn't mean he'll blatantly treat them coldly without any reason.

But his relationship with Aurora was non-existent, far from enough to warrant involvement in her affairs. While one might argue all the Ravensteins were technically his family, Atticus sees them all as strangers. He had never met any of them before, simply sharing the same blood wasn't enough to warrant being called his family.

It's clear the the author wanted to have her in the story and so broke MCs core values for it.

Here he LITERALLY states that their relationship is non-existent, and it remains that way. It only changes because MC himself goes against his previously established character and chooses to interfere with her life. And it's not even in a gradual way or with proper reasoning. He himself doesn't even know why he's doing it. It's solely because the Author wanted her in the story going forward but decided to shoehorn her in fast instead of allowing her and MC to change from strangers to acquaintances to friends.

The girl he rescued is his cousin. The students he rescued at the academy are also his cousins. However, he leaves his cousins who oppose him to die without hesitation. So he's still cruel and doesn't sacrifice himself for others.

        Literally Chapter 49:

He had never met any of them before, simply sharing the same blood wasn't enough to warrant being called his family.

Key part being him saying he wouldn't involve himself in the affairs of people he had a non-existent relationship with.

Again, just to be clear, it's a good thing he chose to save her and his cousins. But it doesn't fit his character and the "change" in his ideals was just randomly made to serve the purpose of having Aurora be a part of the novel rather than him properly coming to terms with his emotions and feelings being more normal and generic, rather than this flawed and selfish one.
