The legendary mana finally reached planet Earth, causing all living things to officially enter the path of evolution.

Animals turned into terrifying beasts, some plants gained self-awareness, and humans who managed to withstand the wave of mana awakened the ability to acquire skills by defeating powerful enemies.

The entire planet entered a new era where the old laws fell. The only law was the law of the jungle where the strongest devoured the weakest.

Bai Zemin, an apparently normal college student, turned out to be an unparalleled genius in the path of magic. This caught the attention of a beautiful demoness who would become his partner in this journey to the absolute top. Collapse

This is a copy of my review on webnovel: Spoilers ahead

I just wanna start by saying that I've been following this novel since chapter 30 and I've read all the available chapters at this point in time (260+).

This novel started out great tbh. The entire first arc in the university was, overall, solid, but the big problems this novel has start later on during the next arcs where the story goes from the best apocalyptic novel I'd read to an okay/average (maybe above average) one.
I'll mention the good points 1st which include the update stability which is good at 2 chaps per day and the character design because most important characters have interesting thoughts and personalities tho it could be better. The world background is also not bad, but at the same time it is also nothing to crazy.

Now, when it comes to the flaws of the novel there is one that REALLY is annoying among all of them and that is the way the author writes. What I mean by this is that the author loves writing filler chaps just to make his novel bigger and sometimes u have like 3/4 chaps of enemies being cocky and killing his subordinates just to then be oneshot. For example there was also this one time where for an entire week (2 chaps a day) we only got equipment crafting chaps, like what???? How fuking much do u wanna stretch it. These novel suffers from the same thing as Cultivation online which is having a really good story that is butchered by its author in an attempt to make it last longer and milk it more which is understandable but sad. The chapters are also very small, which was also something that only started happening later on.
There are other things people might consider bad that don't bother me much like the kingdom building tag, as long as it is done well, and the constant description of sexy females.
This novel also suffers from the chinese novel syndrome and copies some of its "qualities". Like for example, everything the Mc makes, be it his base, weapons or even his strength it is always superior to the others and they are always monsters while he is always a saint/right.
Another thing that really bothers me is how lazy the author is with the titles. There were 10 chaps in a row titled: 3 vs 300 something (I forgot tbh). Of these 10 only the last 2/3 even mentioned the fight. If u read this author just know that i like ur story and i'll keep reading it, but if these "concerns" of mine, and other people, get worse and others appear I might just drop it tbh. It was such a good story at 1st.

Final rant: What was the fuking point of introducing his family and showing how much he cares for them if it has been weeks and he hasn't even gone to look for them. Especially after he saw how women and even children are being raped or selling themselves for food he still doesn't go look for them. I know he's got other shit to do but in that case why introduce his family in the 1st place. I know for sure his sister is fine, but i hope either his mom or dad, or both, are dead to show him he should have gone looking for them as soon as he could. Tho I bet when he finds them they'll have been mistreated and he'll murder destroy an entire base.

btw if there's one thing that i like is his relationship with lili which is quite well done. I kinda want this to be a harem cuz I like binxue too but I'm conflicted xD.

So I'm at chapter 480.now, the latest released, and tbh the novel is basically the same. Same flaws and same good points. Tho the MC'S plot armor definitely got thicker which I dislike. Especially
. I like how the side characters have been developing and bing xue is quickly turning into my favourite, rip lili, and as such I really hope this is. A harem or else I'll be very disappointed.

So I liked this one till around chap 200 but it loses its main point. What I dislike about it is that the author is trying really hard to shove the idea of 《I can't go alone to save my parents because I am too weak 》When! When in the story is he 2 weak? He can't beat all the monsters but it's not like he can't run away from them. When I saw the main character being cold I thought that he would detach himself from the group at some point , I get the whole Idea of let's get the other people to safety thing but when he gets the leader job that gives him power with the number of people he has, well we all know where this is going. So why call it blood warlock with a succubus partner and not blood warlock kingdom building?

Yes the distance is quite big , probably a way for the author to make him grow from the jouerney .BUT he has superhuman spead , hell i think i could be faster then a bus going at normal spead if i was twice as fast as i am now and as of the chapter i have stoped reading he is 13 times faster 13! and he can move faster then a bus in a jungle cause of not geting stuck in stuff . (Note: I will or have posted this message across many of the top novels from Webnovel)

CatsAreOverrated's response to people trying to shame people who read and comment on sites such as Ranobes

If I am not mistaken two authors have already voiced out and complained about Ranobes specifically, more so a hoard of their sheepies cry out with out a brain, a good example would be Lioner( he posted a comment in Blood Warlock), attacking us readers and especially those who comment with criticism.
Therefore I will attack their notions used to attack and shame us readers. I will present three arguments, the first is how these sites do not hurt the author, the second is how it helps the author, and the third is why we readers may still criticize(As long as it is valid and not nonsense with no reason) the works of these authors, as many point to our criticisms as shameless and worthless.
    1. They say that we hurt the author in that we take away their source of income by reading in these pirated sites, they argue that because we do not read in Webnovel we are leaching of the author, draining the author of his or her's blood sweet and tears. To this I say nay. My first argument, pirated sites do not hurt authors, to go further, we have to first understand how they get payed in the first place. They get payed by coins, coins used to unlock chapters, or to get the privileged ones. To them, I propose the fact that those who do read here, do it because they do not wish to spend, if so then even if they do read in Webnovel, they would only use Fast Passes. They may use one, or like I have, used over 20, to get Fast Passes to be used to unlock chapters, Fast passes in which no way benefit the authors. Therefore since the demographic using these pirated sites will still not give coins to the author even if they use Webnovel, then therefore the author does not get harmed losing this demographic. ( This demographic mainly consist of People who live in love-income areas, third-world nations or rural areas in the more developed nations, Minors, Seniors, people with financial problems, there is something called the corona crisis ever heard of it, and people who will not spend because they are not financially secure yet. Though I do concede that there are many who do so just cuz I think my positive case on arg 2 will suffice.)
    2. In the shallow case that they say we steal views from the author, which is near worthless btw, then I propose that we readers here still better and help the author more than a tiny few views. How? simple, recommendations thru any form, any medium, any site. Those people who write recommendations are not people who spend hours a day farming Fast Passes, or spending thousands upon thousands to read, they are us, people who read from these sites, who are able to read quickly and continuously. We write recommendations, which may bring more people to the fold, people who may choose to use coins on Webnovel, people who may love it so much, they choose to maybe even buy privilege, allowing them to read further than we here have.(additional info: Privilege chapters do not and should not be posted on these sites, this furthermore proves my point on how if you really do want to read further than like it works as a gateway, the first few are hooks to keep you want to keep reading further propelling the chance of people giving Author coins)
    3. They Like to silence us, berate us for our criticism, however why should we be able to criticize if it is free? Isn't it shameless? How evil and uncaring! To them I ask, why do we criticize the works? Why? Do we have no time as to just want to smear there names? So again we need to understand, there are mainly two types of criticisms, the first is about recommending, it is about telling others what the novel is about, the good and the bad, the second is a form of just saying what you think off the top of your head, whether this be an applause of a criticism. To them I say we say the first type not as an attack to the author, but to spread the word to our neighbors, we tell them what we think, and if it suits them then go for it. Its to spark a conversation or at the very least to share your thoughts, however I do not think this is what most of the sheepies refer to as shameless, so I shall move along. The second type is more direct, just criticism straight to their face, maybe we say its sad or disappointing or stupid, now I ask the sheepies this WHY? Is it because we are lazy asses who do it just cuz? We do it because we care, because we want the novel to be better for us, for everyone, we do it because we may feel sad that our favorite book turned trash, or angry that the author betrayed us, we do it because we care and love the book as much as you do.
3b. The clearer and more concise version of arg 3. Though it will only tackle the first type of criticism mentioned above.
Criticisms is criticisms. There aren't some higher goal. People read something -> they got some thoughts -> they write some thought. When people read comment section most do expect all the different opinions, not plain ass licking. But WN have some funny thing where author can delete comments for no reason. They basically make comments their own temple for mindless prayers. The comment section is mainly not for author, it's for readers to exchange their opinions and find novels they like faster and easier. But ofc there should not be direct attacks against the personhood of the author, just the book, it's common sense.
"Find novels they like faster and easier" does not only benefit the readers but authors too. They will get more readers that love their type of novel, that just read comment and go ahead if it fits them.

This ends my rant, and if any sheepie wants to mindlessly berate me again, well my brothers and sisters will hopefully defend me in the comments section

*Props to Penguin who created arg 3b and also reminded me to give examples of the "target demographic" I was talking about in arg 1.

Help authors? Stop trying to justify your own actions and stop painting pirate sites as saints. Reading your comment made me want to vomit.
Recommend the work of the authors? To be honest, I doubt very much that you have recommended the novel to even 1 person just as I never have.
Why pretend so stupidly. You just make yourself look pathetic in the eyes of objective people.
The only reasonable thing you said in your whole stupid, false, and nonsensical babble was that we pirate readers will use fastpasses anyway without being able to give anything to the author since we have no money.
Everything else in your commentary is nothing but garbage.

So, good job in strawmaning me. Never once did I ever talk about the morality of the site itself, nor ever did I try to justify reading here, I mainly argued why it would still be in the interest of the authors(and all parties involves) that they let his or her novels float in pirated sites. And so you asked Help authors? well yes it does help authors and you never disproved that it wouldn't.
Lol, surrrrreee, I have recommended plenty of novels to over hundreds of people, though I did not recommend this novel in particular. However I assure you that at least one person has. Furthermore I do not even understand why you pose this question more than it being a totally stupid question you can find by, I dunno, checking my profile on Ranobes, it does not disprove the fact that people recommend books, and that author benefits from those recommendation.
Remember when I talk about criticism, I absolutely love when people like you prove me right. I make a logical well thought out argument on why sites like Ranobes benefit everyone, when the ohhh so great Justice warrior gives the equivalent of, "this novel sucks, because it no give me harem, and I want some pwease momma author." or more accurately "Author why you try to justify murder huh? why you make mc evil and kill him, why make police like saints huh? It made me want to vomit, I bet it is because you, a black man living in Waterloo-Cedar Falls, IA, wherever that is, never felt discrimination, same as me a white hetero male. You so pathetic not acknowledging that there is police discrimination, garbage novel"

*Waterloo-Cedar Falls, IA, rated as one of the most racist cities in the US.

To be honest, I doubt very much that you have recommended the novel to even 1 person just as I never have.

Do you know about appealing to self experience is not argument? But you can use extremely objective way - probability theory: let person recommendation chance be 20%, so by 100 peoples 20 will recommend, by 1000 is 200 etc, more people more total given recommendation. So if you wipe off all pirate sites you will have to increase advertising budget to keep past people count and make it increase same pace (paying for advertising budget increase will readers anyway).

You just make yourself look pathetic in the eyes of objective people.

So i already wrote smth about "objective" but i can append little more. There are some research from real scientists in the internet that talk about music and game industry doesn't hurt by pirating. Books industry relatively small but it's still same origin - some entertainment product with low cost price for one thing (song, game, etc) so it's subjugate to the same rules and exploiting same ppls to farm money and probably also doesn't get hurt by pirating ("probably" bcoz i don't know about any researches, not because i assume some damage).

And one last point - morality. As long as person know about product price and choose pirating - the person know about action's morality. But some sort of amorality don't reject potential pros for all sides. Pros is pros, cons is cons. They don't make disappear each other.
For example: I was start reading webnovels on pirate sites. If there weren't any of these sites i would never pay for so low quality content and still play games and read paper books. Moreover i recommend all of my reading friends some good things and several of them really start read webnovels.

P.S. Ranobes compare to WN real saints. Do you know about Wn stealing free translation from other sides and sell it without specifying the translation author or grab novels by the right from small translation commands and let novel dropped. It's monopolist already and doesn't deserve any kind of compassion (but pirates still pirates...).

Bruh. I get that you don't like pirate sites, but please, tone down on the insults.

I've give you advice, it's better to just ignore what you can't do anything about.

But the fact is-and I'm not supporting pirate sites and neither am I condemning them-thoee that will not pay, will not pay and that is never going to change. Because, you really don't expect, a teenager from iran,Congo or who knows where to buy coins rated in dollars do you?????

So that's the case, you need to stop judging people from your point of view.

And honestly. Are you telling pirate sites are all black like you're trying to paint them?

Everything is not black and white.

Also. I find no fault in telling someone what it is you don't like about their book.

They leave reviews, comments and the like of their own discretion. Can you tell me why you're attacking them for that???cause I can't understand it.

A book is bad, is good, is trash, is whatever, it's THEIR comment.

You don't like it, fine. But why do you have to ruin people's mood as call for justice because others aren't as rich as you are, or they don't think the novel is worth paying for like you do, or the current exchange rate is too much for them.

It's selfish, in ungrateful, it annoys you? True!

THATS HUMANS FOR YOU, DEAL WITH IT. Or better yet, just Ignore it man.

This whole banter is just meaningless.

Also, to those who keep up the dislikes, please can you tell me what you're doing, REGISTERED on this site in the first place???????

I'm almost certain this things gonna rained on with dislikes, thank you for your time.

Honestly, this argument does not make sense.
It's basically trying to justify theft.
      Just stop.
I read here because I don't want to pay.
I will not justify the fact that I am basically stealing. [Since i am doing it, I will admit to it. I will not pretend that what I'm doing is correct and twist it to make it seem like I am a saint, that's a big nonon in my book]
You don't just go steal something from a place and then justify it with something like 'oh I recommend it to others to popularize the story'
Should I recommend to my friend the best house to steal from?
      Of course not.
Moreover, even if the story does become more popular thanks to the free sites, it also loses a lot of readers.
      Why?
Who da f#ck would pay for something when they can read it for free?
There are some, but the vast majority would rather not pay
All in all, authors lose massively.
      Let's please stop this nonsense.
Be a man and stop trying to justify the fact that you are stealing and encouraging it.
      P.S
Authors earn nothing from views, and moreover, 'that small number of views that you are talking about, if you actually look at all pirated sites for the same novel and add them together, it amounts to over millions of views. That's not small
Just this novel alone has 2 million views. You call that small?

I understand where you're coming from as a fellow author but there are just some people who can't afford to purchase coins or farm fast passes on Webnovel. Qidan takes advantage of these kinds of individuals, and authors as well, according to some sources. It's a very disastrous experience for various readers, especially people from poorer areas who don't make much in terms of income. These individuals want to be able to read but can't afford it, and taking away that basic human right just feels wrong to me.

Yes, absolutely, you shouldn't be afraid to monetize your work, and having people purchase chapters to read more, that's even better. Always support the author is the main idea here. The problem we have with this comment is that it's attacking a whole bunch of individuals who read your story, and you're alienating people who may want to support you in future. Furthermore, you're putting up content on the internet, so expect it to be criticised. You're competing with thousands of other authors who also have to deal with this, and if they can, so can you.

Whenever I see one of ur comments it just makes me sad. The way u can't even talk with other people and accept what they've said. HOW MANY TIMES do we have to explain that reading her or on webnovel is the same cuz we wouldn't be paying either way and the author doesn't get paid through views.
And btw ur car example isn't the best cuz tbh even if u get something for free if it is faulty you have all the rights to complain or else i can just give anyone a bunch of shit or a broken device and they'll have to swallow it and smile as they accept it. Quite incorrect if u ask me.
Obviously if u get something expensive for free u won't complain if ur polite, but on everyday things or minor things u can complain and still be polite cuz again what's the point of a free gift if it's shit or broken.

Hey bro, there's a limit to how much you can shit talk. If you talking bout pirated websites not giving authors money for their novels, they didn't even remove the codes where it projects the author's main website, that's advertising to some extent, which not only helps the author of the novel who somebody is enjoying, it can also bring attention to their other novels depending on the quality of the novel based from. Pirated websites also have links where the author's patreon, if he/she ever haves one is placed, so that you can donate if you wanted to support the author. If you claim that pirated novels ruin the authors chance to earn money because people here are complaining while reading free chapters, well bless you, Webnovel is notorious for stealing novels from other websites without authorspermission and even have the galls to make it have locked chapters, so if you want to blame anybody, blame Webnovel for stealing other authors work just so that they can have a new book in their top ten list.

The concept of this history is solid, the basic mechanics and systems are well structured and you can follow quickly, the combat is a little above average wish is good if followed with a good story and there are multiples oportunities where you can glance an hype and epic finale of proportions.

BUT! everything is not shit and giggles, the history streetches or say the same thing diferent chp by changing the wording or using allegory, also i feel that the world building is not well put together because we are bombarded with this phrases "The laws of society are no longer valid", "But even he has limits to what he could do", "the era of peace and tranquility had long since ended", "he cant save his family alone" like a broken record, you should explain this by building your fantasy world no by trying mind control (the saddest part is that is working for some)

In my opinion story , world building, character development e.t.c is good. But the only problem is author needlessly tried to streach the story as much possible. I will rate the story 3 out of 5. Here is an example
    Spoiler-
Look at ch202 he just said same thing colorfully with different words- "that after 1 month he met the condition to evolve the skill which he thought was impossible before 1 month". This single sentence streached to entire chp. Bravo author nice trick you can actually make 1k chp worth of story to 2k chp. Brilliant idea.

Its something that happened to the MC in the past (way before the novel started) and the reason why he is cold, especially to women.

Nothing is described in details, more like mentioned a few times.

Yup, never described. It's just something that's needed to make the protagonist a cold person, which 'maybe' according to the author is a cool thing. When I thought that is trash, especially if it's mentioned several times how cold and indifferent the protagonist is...

Oh, this situation, like protagonist of the novel Moon Labyrinth?

There element 'cheating', but is not very explicitly highlighted. If that's the case, then damage to readers is not too serious. Ka ka ka.

But, thank you very much for explaining, Brother!

I almost threw this novel because netorare was stupid... ehh

            Nggak ada NTR.

Sudah dijelasin di atas: kalau netorare-nya itu nggak berdampak banyak, atau disorot secara eksplisit.

Seperti angin lalu, nggak ada substansi untuk plot. Jadi, aman-aman aja.

                Protagonis.

Kekasihnya (karakter sampingan) direnggut sama orang lain.

Kejadian itu pas sebelum dimulainya cerita utama. Cuma penulis menyenggol di beberapa narasi, nggak dijelaskan banyak.

Netorare-nya itu doang. Selebihnya aman, kok. Tenang.

Yeah tottaly with u i think the kingdom building ruins a lot of apocalypse novels like this one here
The mc can literally wipe armies if he become a little stronger (individual strength) but nah there must be kingdom building s#it.. if this novel take a route like everyone else is a returnee it would become much better and fun than organizing people or gaining trust or whatever related to kingdom building that's one of the reasons i didn't continue to read armipotent it became boring at sometims

As mentioned in the novel it's impossible to do everything on your own without wasting too much time. Also everyone else is a returnee is truly lacking in everything a good novels needs. The only good thing it had was the initial concept.

agreed. the initial concept was so good that it basically carried the entire novel. without it, the novel would have been mediocre at best.

At least in armipotent it was clear from the start that the mc wanted to build a kingdom of his own i thought after he gets out of school he will go to search for his family with his succubus partner..... but in the end its my opinion some people like Kingdom building and i ain't one of them

Bro, to be honest, I don't like the shit in here, I only stay to watch him succeed with Lilith and Bing Xue, nothing more, nothing less. I read hentai with plot, hentai without plot, and MTL, I don't see what could be worse than trashy MTL's

tbh everyone else is a returnee was one of the few novels i actually enjoyed and had fun reading
even though it lacked a few thigs it was super entertaining unlike this one that went bland after around 100 chapters
