An ordinary young man on earth, Xia Feng, traveled to a world of sword and magic, and took the body of Lucien Evans, another ordinary young man. Seemingly this was a world of traditional western fantasy, yet he discovered the astonishing similarities between the earth and this world, and between science and the so-called arcane magic…

«Knowledge is power»? Soul, magic, quantum, Theory of Relativity, cognitive world, music and real world……

What was the true nature of that world? Collapse

    1) Would love to have prequel of this novel where plot and story take place during time of Age of mythology, Rise & fall of magic empire.

    2) Increase in power & MC level is inconsistent. At first it will be slow during his time in Alto. But he will increase level in middle sorcerer ranks very fast.

    3) There are some Grammatical & Spelling mistake in later arcs. Like change of gender of characters by using wrong pronouns. But it's readable.

    4) It would have been nice if side stories containing past or early situation or life of any character was mentioned in middle of story like character reminiscing his/her past. I think this will give us more immersive experience related to whole plot.

    5) There are times when MC wins a battle due to artifacts that he possessed. And sometimes It leads us to believe that MC is over relience on items rather than his own strength and power.

    6) Some people will find that MC is taking research and passing it off as his own I.e. ideas and theories of scientists in his previous life. But if this resources is helping him grow then why shouldn't he use it to get stronger?

    7) While reading it can be seen that this novel is base or foundation for LOTM. So I quite enjoyed it. Although there will be some forced plots it can be overlooked since it's author first novel and he had already done best.

So Overall I recommend to read this novel, but read it before LOTM is you can. If not I still recommended to read.

I really love this novel. I hate that people keep comparing this to LOTM and diminishing/belittling this novel because it was made before LOTM. I know some of them mean good but it still doesn’t change the fact that the novel doesn’t look appealing if it’s belittled compared to another work, especially since some people have different tastes. Anyway, this is a masterpiece to me. The ending is very perfect and I love that there is a side story 20+ years in the future (sadly the mc isn’t in it even though he is constantly mentioned). Some science stuff may be hard to understand but you don’t really need to understand it all to be able to understand what’s happening. 9.5/10 (this is one of my first novels and I only just reread it, still love it)

i think that's one of the reason why didn't continue reading lotm, it reminds me of wmw with other mage novels. feels overhype and very visible negative reviews calling other mage novels a ripoff even if they exist way before, i didn't like wmw as much. i guess after that i didn't trust much these hype novels

tho i read both lotm and throne before lotm become so popular, and both are good tbh but i only now realize they are from the same author swim

Simply this is Cuttlefish's experimental novel, not so bad like 3.2/5

If you haven't read LOTM, I wouldn't suggest to read this one, aside from the spoilers on comment section, world building has similarities.
It can greatly decrees your first impression of reading LOTM

LOTM fans have to be the worst. Stop yapping. "Experiment" LOTM basically copied Throne of Magical Arcana. I read this before LOTM and i still prefer this over LOTM. No one should listen to what this tool says

    Just finished the novel.
I didn't expect the novel to be this good. It has one of the most unique power system.
    Great Character development.
    Great World Building.
    9/10.
    Give it a try.

    P.S :
This novel actually made me listen to classical musics and read science books.

      I disagree.
After around chapter 300 or so, the story gets much more interesting as the main players are actively present in the novel.

I'd say it's not forced. As Lucien's power grows, The More he interacts with important characters. Also, The Highest Council also knows he has tremendous potential, and thus favors him.

Also, we're talking about Cuttlefish here. Even though it's his previous novel, the story is well thought-out.

Also, the 'forced world change' you talked about, actually happened because of the intervention of Lucien.

Well, that's it. If you believe I'm wrong, you can point out. It's my perception after
finishing the novel after all. So, maybe I'm wrong.

          Peace.

I finished the novel (apart from the side stories). What an amazing journey it was. As someone who did A Level Physics it was so interesting having all that knowledge come back to me(it’s been a few years). So much research must have been done by cuttlefish. I really recommend this book. Hardly any filler. Lucien and side characters are great. World building is great. Wish there was a few more chapters of the main storyline. Overall 9/10.

Btw, I had stopped reading this novel long back (didnt drop it, just ended up stopping cuz of exams and then never got back), since around an year back(?). Can someone tell me where I am? I think I was reading smth like Lucien being given a mission to go to some mountains for smth, he had just completed his demonstration for some "how the world started" thing, exploded quite a few heads and got that ring award. So which chapter is that?

If you're asking about the part in which Lucien begins his mission to the Dark Mountain Range,
      It starts from chapter 256.

This is definitely a good read but oh my God is the mc frustrating. Every battle he wins is like it's by luck as every encounter happens to be with powerful adversaries. The items he uses have amazing descriptions but when it comes to their usage surprisingly the enemy always has a way to resist them which further grows my frustrations. I like competent enemies but not to the point that every battle against them is a major battle for life and death, I would like Lucien to sometimes have an edge against powerful foes. Lucien is somehow strong against the weak but utterly weak against the strong, it's like he has bad luck as a trait or something. I know every plan doesn't always work out as planned but seriously just once let it happen just for the sense satisfaction it provides sigh .
Damn I've been ranting a lot sorry senior martial brothers this junior is just having a mental demon. pressure
