This is the story of a psychologist who runs around a Xianxia world, psychologically messing with everyone he meets. It's utterly twisted.

Stereotypical to the core. If you like the genre then you will probably like this.

Disregarding the genre and looking at it as a standalone book/novel, gotta say it is pretty shit.

Characterization just doesn’t f#cking exist, characters are given maybe four sentences of depth but that shit is disregarded the very next paragraph.
Story is repetitive to all hell, it consists of the exact same 5-7 plot points repeated ad nauseam.
World background is not gone over whatsoever, we are given the names of locations, sects, land formations, etc… once or twice the chapter of. After that it’s a dice roll, with double sixes being the only time any descriptor is used.
The writer tries to make the mc “smart” but smart by comparison doesn’t mean shit when what they’re compared to are the intellectual and emotional equivalents to bags of f#cking rocks.

Let’s not even go over the mild bigotry strung throughout every interaction involving any possible group you could discriminate against. Nor will we go over the brushing it off as “welp, that is how the world should be”, that occurs damn near every time.

And I could go on but god is it a genuine migraine to read things like this.

I know! It’s that darned Epic of Gilgamesh every. Single. Time. hokage
There’s only so many times I can stomach the Hero’s Journey puke
And there’s a reason why direct pronouns are often made to give way to direct object nouns in novels, this author should’ve taken it a step further and mansplained to us at every turn, how dare they not 17

/s, go read something else then. Why’re you here if you hate this genre so much? constraint

The “Translator’s Synopsis” just shows that the translator doesn’t speak english or if they do they don’t speak it well. Hopefully it doesn’t show in the translation but it probably will.

finally a kinda good novel. It is a 6+/10 on my scale. I dropped it after 250 chapters tough because the it is tiring to read with it long setups and the power progression is obscure

MC transmigrates and learns some cultivation from his parents for 10 years chilling. Then the novel starts and the stream of problems never relents. I dont like that the reader doesnt have a good grasp of the extent of MC's abilities

I'm at chapter 100 right now and I'm enjoying it so far. This is a well-known cultivation BASE for all of us, but with some interesting differences.

+ judging by the status, this is a completed novel, which means you can safely immerse yourself in the study of MTL.

So, I went to Qidian to read the actual synopsis of the novel, which is currently this:

Perhaps on a cold winter's night, you hear someone singing softly from beyond a wall.

A Daoist in feathered robes with a heart like the white clouds,
One zither, one sword, one painting.
Light snow, a red stove, and yellow-bud wine,
Reading the Purple Tenuity Grotto-Heaven Scripture by night.

The lingering notes drift like the music of the heavens.

You follow the sound through the snow and suddenly spot a faint, distant light.

After walking for another quarter of an hour, you enter a bamboo forest where the view suddenly opens up, and a wave of warmth washes over you.

There, you see a white crane dancing gracefully while a dragon-maiden in a red dress plays the zither and sings in harmony.

    Startled, you rub your eyes.

When you focus again, you find yourself standing outside your own home, the grass and trees on the street bleak and desolate.

Everyone in the world speaks of immortals, but little do they know, perhaps they are right beside you.

This doesn't tell anything about the story, so kudos to the translator for that synopsis.
