      A hasty assumption, I have read more than 150 chapters and other than the first 20 or so chapters (which the author apologized for), the protagonist was just a side character in all the conflicts just like any other bystander (not 100% of course).

      The powerhouses are doing their things (mostly conspiracies and catastrophic battles) and the protagonist is just an unlucky extra in these events who is doing everything to run away to save himself, he is not a focal point of a conflict after the marriage, just helping in with aftermath and raising his fame, connections and wealth until he can be qualified to participate in the big shots disputes.

    Alright, so first thing first, this novel is not as bad as I thought it would be. I thought that the wife would be a character that would only show up once in hundreds of chapters or so to pad the number of the words before disappearing from the screen for a long time, rinse and repeat, turns out it is not like that. She actually has a presence in the story albeit a weak one, but it steadily grows as the story goes on. From a crippled, silent, and indifferent wife to a wife that actually cared for her surrounding albeit in her own way as she is the cold queen type (Not the toxic one, just an extremely quiet one.0

    The second thing, is the protagonist. At first, I thought he would be your average quickly OP protagonist who would barely face hardship because of his overpowered cheat, well he is not. The only cheat the protagonist have on him is the fact that he needs ten times the amount of cultivation quota than the average person and that causes him to have a strong soul that is quite handy in his situation such as strong comprehension ability and strong resistance against mental attack. Aside from that he really doesn't have any other "cheat". He is so weak right now as of chapter 150, just barely the 8th Stage of cultivation (aka the second lowest stage) but that did not limit his ability in any other cases. He knows he is weak as such he strives to eliminate the problem by studying medicine and array-making. His interaction with other characters is not bland, he is not the emotionless protagonist type and actually likes his family, unlike other novels' protagonists.

    All in all, this novel is actually quite enjoyable. If I were to rate it from 1 to 5 with the latter as the highest score, it would be 3.8.
