Han Cai had a very good life, as he was born into a wealthy merchant family. He had access to anything he wanted, and he was always safe, protected by guards at all times. His family was one of the wealthiest in the town, and no one dared to offend them.

All of this was going to change. Han Cai's father was taking him to the Sky Soaring sect, where he would begin his life as a cultivator.

His past life was filled with regret and loneliness, and he was grateful for the opportunity to start anew in the world.

But honestly, he knew he was a Scoundrel in his past life and will be one in this life too.
He looked at his system panel

This one is quite interesting. The chapters are so short, you won't even have time to notice how bad it is.

I'm grinding my teeth here. Updates are like daily, but the chapters are too short.

Very good so far, the traditional opening stereotypes, an old otaku dies then reincarnates, off to a sect at a young age, work hard to learn how to cultivate, then a demonstration/tournament to get to the inner sect. The MCs cheat can swallow spirit stones to help him upgrade his cultivation. MC begins to do missions, and rather than become callous like MCs in the genre, becomes a little mentally unstable. Curiously, the author tries to explain it by not only the MCs stats - having difficulty adjusting to higher perception and fear, but also the killings he's witnessed.

MC has the potential to become very OP, he's already strong. But he has a cautious personality, and hates travel. He isn't afraid of killiing, but when he fights, it is only with overwhelming instant force. He gives the other person no chance at all. He is extremely careful and secretive, both how he protects his family - he's smart enough to know the sect's enemies will target the families of core disciples, and then hides them even from his own sect. Enslaves his own master and sect leader. Did I mention he's a little crazy with his perception and how he's handling fear?

The author has taken the time to build a picture of a world, so beautiful (MC likes to take time to smell the roses), and also so brutal. Lovely writing, lovely book.

People who love MC playing on easy mode with no challenge can read this novel.
    1. MC's System is broken, if he breathes air or touch grass *cough* I mean spirit stones, he gets points. He converts those points to cultivation levels, skills and other system rewards. Absolutely no f#cking challenge.
    2. Nothing redeeming about this MC or his system. MC was about to get out of one elder faction and accept missions to earn spirit stones and living, but guess what, got cajoled into joining another elder factions with all the perks. Would have been happy for that guy in real life, but in novels, nah, too bland for my tastes and i have never liked novels where system's risk to reward ratio are too lopsided, just to make MC OP in a hurry.

    Rating: 1/5.

It's not a book about a system, and honestly, the author majorly nerfed his a bit with the marked increase in all system costs.

It's a book about a kid who grew up and stayed a nerd in his house his whole life. Then gets reincarned into a brutal world - he's seeing all sorts of crime and violence all around him. He's terrified.

Every last one of the MCs actions has been a reaction to fear. He didn't want to leave his hut, so he made himself look worth investing in to the sect. He gets forced into missions, and he develops a stealth "gameplay" like some oblivion instant death stealth archer. He only trusts his system, and enslaved everyone closest to him with a soul contract. I'm really looking forward to how this book develops. If the author keeps up with what he's doing now, this book could be one of the greats.

It's entertaining, but the chapters are too short, and there are several grammatical errors throughout because there isn't a proofreader(?).

The system can literally do anything if you have enough points, and the points required for his cultivation suddenly skyrocketed to billions (he gets billions fairly easy), which is weird because a coke can is about 150 points, so requesting technology from our era shouldn't be too expensive, but the MC is completely oblivious of this (He could literally solve world hunger without much effort).

Even if the author wishes to focus solely on cultivation, I have the impression that it does not try to explore the endless possibilities of such a system.

Also, the MC isn't really a scoundrel, he acts like a regular guy.

The chapter length can only be described as pitifully short and can barely be used to kill time, it really doesn't seem to be anything special as well.... not that it'd matter with how short each chapter is.
