      There is indeed something similar in book 1, but this does not prevent me from watching the development of the characters and their interaction with great pleasure. Absolutely everything is good in book 2. There, enemies and rivals are constantly changing and creating dynamics. And the way they reveal the character of the bad guys is admirable. But the coolest thing is the main character. Book 1 deliberately does not emphasize his character. But as his character was shown from all sides in book 2... wow

    Admittedly, I haven't read a lot of novels, but I highly doubt that there will be one better than 4k Great Mage.
    The way that author portrays the world, people and their thoughts is extraordinary. When I was reading Season 2 I literally felt the wear of Lukas' soul, how tired he was and so on(don't want to spoil too much).

    In short: a great read. One of a kind. Although it really needs reader's time and understanding sometimes. I'd advise taking breaks in reading to let it sink in a bit.

    BE WARNED (translation caution, not work), this is one of those works where the translator thinks readers are idiots.

    "Maybe I should get rid of my student status" (TL: drop out) No shit?! Really? That was a possible interpretation for "get rid of my student status" wow?! how enlightening!

    "I was trying to get a feel first by using that magic..." (TL: kinda like testing your opponent before getting serious)
