Lord of Annihilation by C0nstance

i want to say that this is a very good novel but... to me its barely passable because its too generic .. be it the logic or mentality of the characters , the focus of the story or the descriptions that the author writes.. i like the MC.. i REALLY like him(MC is the only thing i like about the novel), but the author puts females'(while focuses on their feelings/emotions/relationship and expectations towards the MC) also why does the MC need to be fixed?(even the author goal is to fix him to an extend while writing the novel and im pissed because of that.) half the time i wanna slap someone because to me thats just manipulation/grooming .. (just because someone thinks they are helping/for the good of MC..etc. it doesnt mean that is a good thing for the person in question.. imagine experiencing soo much during 300 years only for teenagers to give you crap.. like the whole novel every character has some delusional feelings/expectation on the MC)

anyway i start skipping every time when the POV wasn't on lucius .. below chapter 100 everything was filled with melodrama (atleast thats how i see it) .. like i get it that its writen like that so readers can get attached to characters and stuff but to me... everything was either annoying/stupid(based on characters thought process/expectation or delusions) or melodrama ..

after chapter 100(end if volume one ).. it started to get better with less melodrama (there is still some when the POV changes to some other character than lucius and the focus is on humanity, but it much better .. for me atleast) and up to chapter 205 everything was GOOD .. i mean there were soo many good chapters where the POV was on the MC and they were soo engaging that i could barely stop reading.. but in chapter 205, MC got ruined because logically that chapter is unrealistic(out of character) for the MC .. anyway you can check my comment in chapter 205 .. ofc i still like lucius and enjoy the novel (when the POV is on him) but its not to the same extend(it barely reaches half)

for me when the POV is on lucius(MC) the novel is 4-5 stars(10/10) be it his goals/mentality/logic/understanding..etc. everything is SOO GOOD.. etc. but when the POV switches to some other character its like 1-2 star(2-3/10) and when the focus/descriptions are on humanity or some other thing (like characters expectations towards lucius or how delusional/foolish they can be) i barely get over it (mainly skip and skimp until it gets good again)

tho the novel gets dull/annoying to me as more as i read because of the focus/story.. MC best period was in the beginning of the novel (chapter 1-2-3..etc MC was like a computer running programs .. such a BADASS.. i liked him since then) but as the story goes.. MC gets changed (and not by choice).. either manipulated or forced to regain his emotion .. anyway ive talk about this when it happen(in the comments) so i wont mention it here.. just gonna say that during the story the MC changes towards a direction that i find generic and personally dont enjoy.. and the whole atmosphere that characters have towards the MC and MC turns a blind eye/ignores that is .. well i wont curse..

chapters 0-100= one long prologue.. too much melodrama and many POV switches so readers can find their favorite characters, its filled with (in my view) stupidity, annoyances, naivety, childishness.
chapters 101-200=when POV is on MC the chapters are golden, 10/10..one of the best.. when the POV is not(imo) it sucks .. main focus is on other characters and how humanity is doing..
chapters 201-300= .. idk how to say it without spoiling too much .. basically the author finally screws the MC (you can read my comments in those chapters) and MC has to save humanity ..
chapters 301-400= things became generic(in my view)like, after chapter 205 MC was ruined for me, ofc not immediately but after that chapter everything was going to a direction i didnt care.. so by the time i read chapter 300+ .. everything became generic/a chore to read.. ofc there were still good chapters but those were handful(rare)..

if i have to pick and choose from all the chapters .. i would say that this novel has overall 100 good chapters .. the rest 300+ chapters is garbage .. honestly i count believe that i read through 10-20 chapters that i DETEST only to get 1-2 good chapters .. ofc sometimes i get 10 good chapters in a row but then it follows up with POV switch and 20 chapters of some BS

P.S. the more i write about something .. the more i liked something about it .. because it got to me enough so i write that much about it.. overall ill rate this as 3 stars (if its not for the MC .. i would give it 1 star)

Author stopped updating so sad

I give this novel a 9/10. The only reason I didn't give this novel a 10/10 is bc of how the Author would always add little random characters rage moments at the end of chapters. Now let's get down to business:

•Mc is ruthless, emotionless, coldhearted, selfish and a sociopath. He doesn't have compassion for anyone and won't hesitate to kill anyone for the sake of his goals. Some readers may think Mc is a bastard that be doin the most and that he's nothing but a edge lord. I won't spoil it for you guys but later on in the story will explain why Mc is this way. Also Mc character development was really good to me, and if some of you think the author did a shit job for Mc character development then your comprehension is just too low to comprehend such a fantastic and unique development for a character. Mc will slowly gain emotions and there is a touch of romance as of so far that I've read in the novel. Mc is OP but not invincible and doesn't just receive some random bs power up like Goku but instead trains and cultivate to get where he is now. Mc struggles some times but bc he's a returner he uses his knowledge as a advantage to win difficult fights

The Antagonist seem to blame the MC for everything that goes wrong for them after the first few times, expect them to atleast try covering their ass first.

Kinda bugged me that everything seemed to revolve around the MC and they were just there to push the story forward.
