DO NOT READ THIS BOOK ❗❗❗ The author has VERY dark overview on life and World, The MC's life is FULL of Tragedies unlike other books where after tragedy MC levels up in this shitty book MC levels up just to face worst Tragedy AND it keeps REPEATING till the last chapter, the entire time you will read this book you will be in BAD MOOD, and the last 300 chapters are just WORST, and the very last few chapters are waaaay tooo much sad to stomach, but if you're masochist like me then 🙄🙄

Top 5 WORST novels I've read on this site and I'll explain why. (TLDR AT THE END)

Pacing: As said in my previous review the pacing is all over the place and stupid. It has solid world building in the 1st few chapters before introducing the power structure. I was VERY intrigued by the power structure and the fights are decently described; however, as opposed to intelligently alternating between action scenes and accumulating power the author will literally 200 CHAPTERS of political drama with NOTHING ELSE going on. Bruh... what kind of story pacing is this?.. Even in stories like Reverend Insanity the "slower parts" always felt like they had a purpose and would benefit MC's combat strength in some ways. In this novel bro will be having warfare using newspaper headlines for 50 chapters straight.

Purpose: What does MC want? Like seriously because it either changes so much or there's no clear goal that it almost becomes nonsensical, he wants to become a lawyer, than a hunter, than a... Answer Not Found. He just wanders from place to which I'll touch on later.

MC Personality: Possibly the biggest contention for this novel is how "cruel & evil" this MC was but OH MY GOD, I was tugging at my eyelids at the author for the ex-machinas and situations the MC was written into and the way he behaved. In terms of his actions it's as everyone was saying he's a pretty chill dude up till around chapter 500 (ramps up around 450 or so) and then he starts just wantonly murking mofos. I didn't mind this cuz I love me a good Evil MC but then there's something that around chapter ABSOLUTELY BLEW MY MIND and not for good reasons (spoiler from around chapter 500 involving the main love interest) All in all, after love interest MC devolves from a cold and calculating mc who's ruthless when it suits him to a hotheaded impulsive simp who throws hands at anyone who insults his fair maiden like the good little white knight he is.

Author Has Dementia: There's something in storytelling called Schrodinger's Gun (I think it's called) if you show a gun in a scene, ya gotta use it the next one. This author has SOOOOO MANY plot point that are never brought up or used again it's actually impressive, not limited to but including

Everyone betrays him for no reason...: I don't even know if I should mark this as a spoiler, but maybe a more appropriate title should people who SHOULDN'T betray him, betray him. This is actually so fukin retarded I'm actually shitting out my nostrils while typing this but I'll just say in spoilers: If you read the spoilers it's clear this author literally had the end goal in mind and didn't care how the fuk he got there he just wanted the MC to suffer but there's only much benefit of the doubt you can give before you think the author needs to be slapdiked across the chin and knocked unconscious from it.

Random racism: Bro's not beating the allegations, Great Republic of China yadayada, and describing a Japanese person as "Dirty invader with single eyelids and needs surgery to even be attractive". Then again that could also apply to Korean potentially but those 3 countries are always beefing with each other so I dunno.

This book is cool in concept, interesting power system and all that yet... this author is just... dumb. There's no vision except how he wanted it to end, he himself even ADMITTED it on the very final chapter if you wanna skip to there to prove my point.

TLDR: Book Bad. MC Simp. Pacing Horrible. Plot holes Galore. Ending Forced.

REVIEW: I've read up to Chapter 323 and can confidently say the author has ZERO sense of pacing. While the beginning chapters gives the readers a sense of intrigue into the power system before finally exploring it at around CHAPTER 70, the issue is that the interesting actions scenes and struggles for powers are spliced in between political games and mind games rather than ACTUALLY BEING A HUNTER. There can literally be great action and high stakes outside the walls followed up by 50-70 chapters of just straight yapping. The world building and the power system is definitely intriguing BUTT the pacing is tragically slow and a chore to slop through.

I liked this novel personally. However the translation is way beyond shit, i think after 500 or smthng, the chapters are like mtl.

This novel is for those who desperately looking for an evil and cold mc.
He is really a dark king. This novel is beyond dark, packed with unlimited betrayal and backstabbing that you won't even expect.
Those who simply like anti-hero mc, this novel ain't for them also.
After reading this I had to take a small break to rehabilitate.

P.S.
Please don't read if you don't have that much experience in novel world and mtl world too.
This novel will be liked by those who read almost all novels and exploring the mtl world.
And among them not all can digest this book also.

This novel starts off well and develops in a really interesting way for 600 chapters, it is dark and gritty where the MC goes through suffering and actually works hard to solve his problems and grow in the society he lives in. He has meaningful relationships with the people he meets along the way, some of which have a dark turn, which adds great complexity for the story. One of my favourite novels for the first 500 or so chapters. Great world building, great story progression , great characters as a whole.

Unfortunately after 550 chapters the translation quality takes a massive hit and It would maybe be manageable if the translation hadn't also taken a bit but I'm unfortunately dropping it now as the MC has gotten so unlikable from a once clever, ambitious and good (ish) protagonist. Rating 9/10 for the first 500 chaps, 3/10 after that :(.

I gave up around chapter 790...I couldn't keep up with the translation, at time the story makes sense and then it doesn't..damn, I liked this novel that's why I kept to it..but, my brain is starting to hurt...does it get better ?

This is a really good story, kind of dark and edgy sometimes, and I'm just back here because I just realized the entirety is now fully translated. Glad I won't have to leave on a cliffhanger because I can't bear the mtl.
