    The Story So Far
    At its heart is Liu Zheng (the protag), a humble courier whose routine city life mutates into a “Hell Game” folding layers of supernatural logic over modern reality. Each stage..or “instance”...forces him to survive grotesque environments while dissecting moral boundaries. The early “Bloody Restaurant” arc sets the tone: a tense, darkly comic miniature of service-industry hell where the rules are both literal and karmic. Readers praised it for its cinematic pacing and bleak wit. (From the chapter comments that i translated said so~ )


    1. Liu Zheng (now to be mentioned as the MC) was not a humble courier before Hell Game (now to be mentioned as HG).

    Strengths and Appeal
    What sets Hell Game apart is its inventive rulecraft. Each instance functions less as a battlefield and more as a riddle box built from logic, irony, and fear. Liu Zheng’s moral grayness, combined with the author’s flair for black humor, makes for a rare survival narrative...one that’s intellectually charged yet viscerally uncomfortable.

    Weak Points

Readers craving romance or emotional grounding will find none here...only grit, irony, and a gradually dehumanized protagonist. Extreme violence and psychological cruelty also make it unsuitable for the faint-hearted.

    16. The MC is known by some as The Succubus of metropolis (only his boss calls him that), though he has yet not done it.

    Comparisons and Themes
    Fans of My House of Horrors and Soul of Negary will feel at home here. Like those works, Hell Game merges metaphysical dread with human disillusionment. Its central themes....survival versus morality, the commodification of life, and the erosion of identity...form a chilling commentary on modern existence.

    Verdict
    By Chapter 648, Hell Game: Starting from the Metropolis has matured into a Cthulhu-meets-Kafka survival epic. It’s grotesque, bizarrely funny, and philosophically unsettling...a world where horror is logic, and logic itself is the punchline. For readers seeking creativity in the horror-game genre, this stands among the sharpest and strangest works on the Chinese web. meme_9

    Verdict
    Terrible, the writer shall be forbidden from ever again communing with the thousand faces and thousand voiced sage and they shall have their alcohol(novel) drinking right taken away.

    This is so because the A.I. got some things right and I wanna keep the parody going.

      I will apologise. I didn't knew it was wrong? I apologise cause i didn't intend to spread wrong information...last time it happend to me in another novel and a user helped me identify. Sorry, I tried to convert the languages using that....and yes as english is not my first. But if it's wrong then I will delete my review. Thank you once again.           I totally understand. It was my mistake. You see english is hard for me. Where I come from ...english is like 3rd or 4th prioritized language. And now imagine about the Novel that are chinese or japanese. Though i would like to state that yes, I did read the novel..yes till 600 chaps....but before you humble brother jump me, please listen. The novels that are in another language, I translate them to My mother tongue for me to understand better because English is hard to understand. And when u get there to translate all those chapters one by one to my language, some stuff gets turned over.

          And it also makes me emotionally drained. Now because of what you quoted down, I was deeply hurt (please don't jump me again...just honest thought 😞) ... because I translated every chapter, it took like a month or something for me (in my language). Now when you brother, wrote line by line, that everything I wrote was utter nonsense I was shocked. I was questioning myself of this. I didn't knew what to do and was in hysterics.               Screenshot and translate to my mother tongue, but if I get time I copy line by line and use Chatgpt. Now I have bought perplexity pro to translate but even that's showing some bugs, but I'm ok with that because of "Unlimited uses". I think its my mother tongue's issue, Because after translating the review written in my language to a review in English... shit happens :)

    Not my cup of tea. Felt a bit too forced as if the mc goes along with everyone planned for him. Usually isn’t a problem for me but here the mc lacks a bit of depth I see with other mcs making it seem more like plot rather than him choosing to do so
