Transmigrating to the Immortal World, Shen Ping has been cultivating as if he was walking on thin ice for more than twenty years, but he didn’t have cheats and had ordinary qualifications, so his cultivation progressed slowly.

When he finally decided to give up completely and become a loser to enjoy the world… Come on, chicks!

But…

Right after his night of satisfaction, he looked at his lovely wife who was curled up like a kitten in his arms.

Not even mediocre just sub-par. Even his cheat despite being conceptual interesting remains dull. The relationships the cheat seems tied to are even duller. What starts as a super slow boring story, become a fast, super repetitive boring story. Don't even get me started on the abhorrent translation. I explore the demonic dao of mtl quite often and I can say this was garbage. Not bad enough that an mtl daoist or even average reader wouldn't understand but just bad enough to turn an already mediocre read into an outright chore. Also, it doesn't seem at all like the pay off is worth it in the end based off the comments. 4/10 try at your own risk

Well, it’s not a bad novel. But….meh. It has too much of angts and walking on the shell. They can’t even go outside to dump their shit!
It starts slowly, very slow, but eventually fastens the pace. And his cheat is like what? He can’t even understand his own cheat, well that’s obvious but he doesn’t even try to dig deeper! He is too much of a scared little boy(40 yo).

    Very bad ending.
    Rushed ending

Sub-Par overall, be it characters, cultivation system, world building, plot.

    Battles are horrible.

My Dao Heart became firmer after reading this all the way till the end tho.

I think its a good journey, but the ending sucks so bad.

It's like explaining a very difficult question by stating facts and your opinions, but the final answer is a blank/nothing/no outcome.

I would have rated higher if not for the ending.

It was a good journey from the slow going weak MC to finally an MC who stood at the top of the world .

From the title, I thought it was gonna be some brain-dead story about the MC collecting wives and then forgetting about them. But it is not.

It is really interesting this one. If you want to experience the life of someone at the bottom tier, the ordinary low-level cultivator, this is not a bad choice. No OP mc, the pacing is not too fast, but still proceeding and the MC is getting stronger. No dragging the story. I've read too many junk novels that this is actually refreshing.

Still reading though, will have to wait and see.

Edit: I really like it. It tells the story of your regular guy. No destroying sects, no defying the heaven, no face slapping. Although he has a cheat, he is not OP. Even so, he is gradually getting stronger.

Edit 802: Totally recommend this novel. It has its flaws, but it's minor and can be overlooked. Usually, when a novel goes past 500 chapters, it gets boring and repetitive, but this is still good IMO. The arc I'm currently in is especially interesting which prompted me to write this edit.

The later part of the story is not bad, it's not good, just meh. The wives, well, they were still there, but not mentioned much, and weren't mentioned at all in the final arc. As usual, the ending of most Chinese stories is like this, meh at best, and abrupt at worst. No conclusion for many things. But this is still worth the read, I think, was interesting, more or less, at least it had an ending. The quality only drops at the really really late part.

The story seems taking the lowkey cautious development. The perspective taken from the mc and since he is on the bottom tier, all the story focused on his struggle.
I only managed to read 30+ before dropping. If you want a timid mc with slow progress in the beginning, alongside with some twists and turns filled with anxiety atmosphere, then try reading this. Of course it might get better later when mc getting stronger and have footing on the cultivation world.

as far as I've read yet (around ch. 400) it doesn't stop and have gotten more annoying. but the story itself is good so it's not unbearable

The concept of the system was very good and it would have been perfect if only there was a limit to the number of dao companion the system would support and to increase the limit he would have to increase his cultivation and even if he cultivated with others it would not receive system benifits.
Like for Qi refinement = 3/5 companions
Foundation establishment = 6/10companions and so on
