After experiencing five years of an adventurer's life, Arcanist Sylar Spellsight now spends his days catching up on developments in Essence Studies and teasing apart the functions of arcane trinkets and artifacts discovered by him and his companions throughout their time travelling the realms of Resham. An unexpected accident during the study of his latest subject of intrigue, however, displaces him across the Planes beyond what any known spell is capable of achieving.

Now finding himself lost in a realm rich in previously-limited Transcendental Essences, however, does he truly even want to return back to his old world? If nothing else, plagiarising - ahem, learning new spell structures by observing the local mages should prove entertaining. Sure, he will face new dangers in this foreign world, but they wouldn't be anything a fancy bit of spellwork couldn't solve.

Confused though he may be by this ‘cultivation’ business that the local mages practise and their lack of appreciation for the finer details of Essence manipulation, he nonetheless discovers that perhaps there are hidden depths to both their arts that each side has yet to fully realise. Collapse

    I started reading it today after keeping the tab open for a long time. Reached chapter 11

    (I have many tabs... and I don't usually start until i finish or get bored of the ones I'm reading at present. The novels im reading were awaiting new chapters...)

    This novel has 22 chapters with a long enough wordcount that it would take about 3 - 4 hrs to complete the novel, while taking in all the details at a decent pace. I took about an hour and a half to finish 11 chapters thus my calculation.

    This novel incorporates elements of both the elemental system and the cultivation system(so far and to my knowledge). A high mid-tier mage finds himself in a new world which follows the system of cultivation. He is trying to find out the intricacies of their system, find a way to improve his abilities and in general just learn more. He is basically a scientist mage who is trying to deconstruct or in his words,
    "Reverse-engineer their system".

    All in all,I have enjoyed this book a lot, the premise is extremely likeable and as far as I have reached, it's worth a read for it is extremely interesting to see how he tried to figure out cultivation from a mage's perspective.

    I really wish that either the author restarts this[as unlikely as that is] or that someone else restarts it, cause I just love this concept 😢

    VERY VERY GOOD BOOK.
    but very very slow updates. my god this is slower than any novel i have ever read. the first chapter was written 2 years ago.
    22 chapters have been posted in total. sure, they have a decent word limit, but it is still very slow.
    we have only completed the introductions as of yet and the world building is done as well. this is the point where the story should be taking off with multiple chapters a day if this was on webnovel. but unfortunately, the author has gone on hiatus. sad :(
