Being stuck in a game nobody leaves doesn’t sound half bad to Cain. He was a high school dropout with a drinking problem, living off disability due to his poor health, so it’s not like he had much to lose except a few faithful friends he didn’t talk to enough.

After a long night of drinking, Cain wakes up looking at what he believes to be the character creation screen of one of his beloved virtual reality games, but with no recollection of having purchased it. Choosing Random Character Creation, not knowing the choice would be irreversible sends him into this new world as a Puppet Master, a Summoning based class nobody else has heard of.

But as he soon realizes, this is no game, him and hundreds of others have been brought to another world with no instructions, no clear goals and no way home. It’s a second chance to live a good life, but what will Cain be able to make of it? Collapse

    There is nothing wrong with this novel except for the pacing and lack of urgency/agency. Too much slice of life, no problem is unsolvable, everything can be taken care of as if it were a saturday morning cartoon show.

    This utter lack of tension in addition to the extreme lenghts of the slice of life, power creep and shallow relationship development makes it increible boring. Not bad, but uninteresting.

    Up to Ch194.
    Great story in that things are always happening with plenty of variety, but huge fail when it comes to plot and character intelligence. The MC is pretty shit at everything, but plot armor and godlike overpoweredness carry him forward. And nobody learns from their mistakes even though they say they do.

    It approaches a level where I'm half convinced the author is a diabolical mastermind aiming to kill readers via excessive self forehead slapping

    Also, the author seems to be a closet female supremecist. Although there's no apparent power difference between the sexes, all the typical female benefits and more exist, including domestic violence blindness.

    The MC's 'girlfriend' also exhibits some typical behavior for stringing along a spare tire. If I knew them IRL I'd tell the MC she's probably got a main man and is just using him.

    WARNING BEFORE READING: These chapters are not complete compared to the WN ones, I don't know how it happened but I'm comparing the free WN chapters with these and multiple paragraphs are cut out with much needed detail. Once we go past the free chapters I can't tell if anyone has the full chapters.

    I've read the novel but I still don't understand what it's trying to tell. First of all, no one ever questioned why in the VRMMO world. Everyone gets stronger in a very normal way. Bad people are very rare because the administration is so tight they don't take any of them into cities or guilds. Normally I hate R-18 but this is I wish it was in the novel, the author never goes into that kind of stuff, but actually they did. He didn't tell much about Mc's personality and type, so I couldn't get into the novel. So it's a below-average novel written to kill time.
