This novel is a solid “meh.” The plot is trying to speedrun and the story skips all details like we’re spamming next on anything that can be skipped.

We have the standard generic Japanese MC with the unwavering morals yet the passive bland personality of a bottle of bleach. The blandness extends to the worldbuilding as well. There is barely any nuance or uniqueness, the kingdom he takes revenge on is called “the kingdom” and the king who betrayed him is called “the king.” The small country he invades is called “the small country.” The empire of the humans is called “the empire.” You can’t get any lazier than that.

He gets some strong subordinates, mostly with annoying personalities who also end up doing nothing because the MC solves everything with his OP powers because morals or something. At least they get names. The rest of his forces are just generic fantasy races, the demons, the orcs, the kobolds, the skeletons, the ghouls and so on and so forth. Anyone who supports the MC is unwavering in their loyalty as soon as they join his side. His enemies are strictly hostile.

There just isn’t any spark of interest here. I’ll read whole arcs of utter garbage to see where a character I liked shows up, but there aren’t any amazing characters. They lack style, meticulousness, growth, interests, and anything else to get attached to. They just have generic “skills and knowledge” that allows them to do things. The world is as flat as board. His own domain doesn’t have a real name. Generic fortress filled with soldiers and nobles died. Yay. How utterly uninteresting. OP MC fantasies aren’t good if they only use it so sweep up generic enemies nobody cares about. The story itself is literally just a straight line at this point. Die Wrongful death -> absorb undead power to become unstoppable -> revenge on kingdom -> get subordinate to do stuff -> MC do everything anyways -> face empire.

Translation overall is ok if nothing else. Just know that every chapter name spoils everything because it is a summary of the whole chapter. Not that I really see the plot deviating in any way. Better off reading the manga, at least you have something to look at.
