Chapter 683: An Occasional Favor

After a thorough repair, the Heavenly Lord's silicone surface was finally restored to pristine condition.

Donning his dashing warrior's outfit once more, a three-foot sword sheathed at his waist, his skin was flushed with health. A charming, mischievous smile played on his lips, instantly conjuring "tycoon romance" fantasies in the minds of young women.

He emerged from the Gao Family Village Women's Vocational School, impossibly handsome, and had only walked a few steps when a young student approached, extending a small cylindrical object to him. "Heavenly Lord, there's something I'd like you to examine."

"What is this?" Li Daoxuan asked, curious.

The student's face glowed with excitement. "This is a concealed weapon suggested by the Saintess, called the Storm of Pear Blossoms Needle. I was very interested, and through designing and improving the spring mechanism, I finally managed to create it."

Li Daoxuan was stunned.

The Storm of Pear Blossoms Needle hadn't been Gao Yiye's original idea, of course. Li Daoxuan had casually mentioned it when he was 'exploring the world' hand-in-hand with Gao Yiye, telling her a few snippets of martial arts tales from his future era.

He hadn't expected Gao Yiye to run to the vocational school and tell the students here about it.

This was truly fascinating.

Li Daoxuan took the small cylinder and examined it, turning it over in his hands.

"Here, there's a latch. When you want to use it, first load the fine needles in through this opening. Pulling the latch back sets the spring," the student explained. "Then, press here..."

Li Daoxuan followed the instructions, pressed, and with a crisp snap of the spring, a cluster of fine needles burst from the top of the small cylinder, flying several meters.

Li Daoxuan was overjoyed. "Your invention is quite impressive!"

The student gave a shy smile. "It shouldn't be counted as my invention, but rather the Saintess's."

"No, no, no! It's absolutely your invention," Li Daoxuan chuckled. "Gao Yiye only offered the concept; it's you who transformed that concept into reality, and that's the most challenging part. Anyone can imagine flying in the sky, but the person who actually builds a manned aircraft is the truly brilliant one."

Having received such high praise, the student was utterly delighted.

"Later, I'll have San Shier give you a 'Scientific Creativity Incentive Award'," Li Daoxuan added.

The student beamed. "Thank you, Heavenly Lord!"

"I'll take this Storm of Pear Blossoms Needle to play with," Li Daoxuan said.

The student stammered, "Oh? This is just a rough experimental model, Heavenly Lord. Please wait while I make a more beautiful one..."

"Bring me the new one when it's ready; I'll use this experimental model for now," Li Daoxuan said cheerfully, tucking the small cylinder into his belt. His mood index soared by 999.

His flintlock rifle marksmanship was atrocious; when playing 'Beachhead Landing 1632,' he couldn't hit a single bandit, essentially just tracing their outlines with his shots. As for his swordsmanship, it was even more dreadful, forcing him into suicidal exchanges with enemies.

But with the Storm of Pear Blossoms Needle, things would be different!

My combat power has skyrocketed!

Li Daoxuan happily continued strolling forward. Just as he reached the edge of Gao Family Village's commercial district, he heard a woman's shout: "Everyone, hurry to the Heavenly Lord Fabric Manor for clothes! The latest Heavenly Lord-inspired warrior's outfits, the newest Heavenly Lord styles are here!"

Li Daoxuan mused, "Oh, really?"

He quickly hurried over to join the commotion. At the entrance of the Heavenly Lord Fabric Manor, large groups of young people were queuing up to buy clothes, eagerly snatching up the very outfit Li Daoxuan was wearing—the one reminiscent of the dashing attire worn by the beloved hero Yang Kang from the 1983 'Legend of the Condor Heroes' during his fateful encounter with Mu Nianci at the martial arts competition.

Previously, the Daoist robes worn by the Heavenly Lord's statue were considered clothing for immortals, something ordinary people dared not imitate.

However, news had spread that the Heavenly Lord was seen casually wearing a warrior's outfit. These were clothes that mortals could wear, and with the Heavenly Lord himself wearing one, the advertising effect within Gao Family Village was absolutely unbeatable.

The women of Gao Family Village seized the business opportunity, sewing tirelessly through the night, resulting in long queues forming throughout the Gao Family commercial district.

A young man, having snatched an outfit, dashed into a changing room, then burst out of the fabric shop, laughing excitedly. "Hahaha, these clothes are so handsome! So, so handsome!"

No sooner had he spoken than he saw the real Heavenly Lord, standing before him in the identical outfit, smiling. "Hey, Gao Sanwa, what are you up to here?"

The young man was indeed Gao Sanwa. "Ah, the Heavenly Lord! I... I was just..."

Li Daoxuan smiled. "Quite dashing, indeed. Very nice."

With that comment, he signaled that he didn't mind having someone wear the same outfit as him. The Heavenly Lord was always approachable and deeply beloved, and the surrounding crowd burst into cheers.

Even more people rushed to grab clothes!

Chun Hong, the manager of the fabric shop, was beaming so widely her face seemed to bloom.

Li Daoxuan glanced at the bustling, joyful Gao Family commercial district, then thought of the misery he had witnessed not long ago in Wenshui County, Henan. A sigh escaped him: "Everything about this era is wonderful, but its territory is simply too vast. To save such an immense country, the task is heavy and the road is long."

Just as he was pondering this, a convoy appeared in the distance. The goods on the carts were wrapped very securely, and militiamen escorted them. It looked as though the convoy was coming from the Gao Family Village Ordnance Bureau.

Li Daoxuan immediately realized this was a transport team for military products.

He went closer to inquire and, sure enough, this convoy was transporting paper cartridges for Chassepot Rifles, preparing to deliver one hundred thousand rounds to Qichuan Ferry, to then be distributed to places like Xiaolangdi and Wenshui County.

The longer Gao Family Village's front lines became, the heavier the responsibility of the transport teams would be in the future.

Li Daoxuan couldn't help but wonder to himself: "How do other transmigrators manage to conquer 9.6 million square kilometers in mere minutes? Do their flintlock soldiers not need ammunition transported?"

Well, they must have used cheat powers.

I suppose I can occasionally use a cheat power to help my people too.

Li Daoxuan opened his mouth and laughed. "I'm in a good mood today, so I'll help you transport a section of the journey."

The transport team: "???"

As he spoke, a colossal golden hand abruptly extended from the sky.

The Gao Family villagers immediately cheered: "Wow! It's been so long since we've seen the Heavenly Lord's great hand!"

The gigantic hand settled flat on the ground, unmoving.

Then, the Heavenly Lord was the first to climb onto the palm of the colossal golden hand and sit down, beckoning to the transport team. "Bring all the ammunition onto my hand."

The transport team members suddenly understood. They quickly moved the ammunition, cart after cart, onto the colossal golden hand, arranging it across its surface...

The transport soldiers all climbed aboard as well, sitting in rows on the colossal golden hand, their faces alight with excitement.

Once everyone was securely seated, the colossal golden hand slowly ascended into the sky, beginning to move southeast.

It slowly accelerated, then picked up speed, moving faster and faster.

The wind began to intensify.

Another colossal golden hand descended from the sky, cupping over everyone to shield them from the wind. Then, the speed of the hand increased further, swooshing past. In the blink of an eye, Qichuan Ferry was reached.

The colossal golden hand reached the river, scooped up a large ship, and, holding it, continued to move southeast. In a matter of moments, Sanmenxia was reached.

This was the limit of Li Daoxuan's field of view.

Only then did he gently set down the ship and the transport soldiers by the river. "Alright, I'll take you this far today."

The transport soldiers exclaimed, "Wow! We'll be able to boast about today's experience for a lifetime!"
