Chapter 444: New Function, Co-Sensing
The few individuals knelt in unison, leaving Zhan Seng and the envoy utterly bewildered. Neither of them knew who the Heavenly Lord was, nor what they were bowing to with such fervor.
Zhan Seng kept one hand resting on his staff, his gaze wary as he eyed the clay sculpture before him.
The Clay Sculpture Heavenly Lord wasn't particularly large, just a touch taller than a man. It had been carried along by the Gao Family Village Shanxi Expeditionary Force to boost morale.
Zhan Seng had seen it before, on previous visits to this very room, but he'd paid it no mind. He never expected the thing to speak! It was enough to scare a monk half to death.
The envoy, on the other hand, was even more terrified, unable to utter a single word.
Li Daoxuan, delighted to find his voice, continued, "Envoy, what you said earlier was excellent. Everyone here is fighting against the tyranny of the imperial court for the sake of the common people, so naturally, we shouldn't be fighting among ourselves. Such infighting only causes grief to friends and joy to enemies. On behalf of Xing Honglang, I accept your terms. From this day forward, Xing Honglang shall also be considered part of the rebel army."
These words left everyone in the room dumbfounded.
Xing Honglang and her comrades knew the Heavenly Lord utterly detested lawless marauders. Hadn't he waged a great battle against Bai Yuzhu, one of Wang Jiayin's subordinates, at Qichuan Ferry not long ago? Yet now, he was willing to join them? It was utterly baffling!
But strange as it was, none of them even considered voicing an objection. Obedience was key. A deity's actions always held profound meaning; mortals should reflect deeply rather than rushing to question the divine.
The only person in the room who was happy was the envoy. He'd grasped the situation: this clay figure was the most important entity here, even more so than Xing Honglang. Its words were undoubtedly trustworthy. His mission was accomplished! Heh heh, he'd be handsomely rewarded upon his return.
But then...
This clay figure felt terrifying. He needed to escape, and fast.
The envoy quickly clasped his hands in a respectful bow. "Then I shall take my leave first."
He turned and ran, terrified that if he lingered, the clay figure might consume him.
Just as he reached the doorway, he heard the clay figure say, "You cursed me in your thoughts earlier, didn't you?"
At that question, the envoy's feet froze... He trembled all over with fright! How did this clay figure know? Good heavens! Was it a demon? One that could read minds?
Li Daoxuan said, "Don't worry, I won't be angry... if you take a face-plant right now."
The moment he finished speaking, the envoy quickly threw himself to the ground with full force, face-planting spectacularly. He scrambled back up, looking utterly miserable. "Is... is this acceptable?"
"Yes, you may leave now!"
Only then did the envoy breathe a sigh of relief, scrambling away in utter disarray.
Li Daoxuan's attention finally shifted to the remaining people in the room. His 'little people' were still in a state of worship, while only the middle-aged monk remained wary.
Li Daoxuan paid no mind to the monk and addressed his villagers, "Alright, no need for such ceremony. Everyone, please sit down and speak comfortably."
The crowd quickly took their seats, their faces filled with reverence as they looked at him.
This was the first time they could converse directly with the Heavenly Lord. Previously, communication had always been through the Saintess, or through the Heavenly Lord displaying a large piece of paper, or even when his giant golden hand descended from the sky...
The level of interaction had been extremely limited!
But this time, the Heavenly Lord was right before them, speaking directly. It filled their entire beings with an inexplicable excitement, a surge of adrenaline, and a feeling of invincibility coursing through their hearts.

Li Daoxuan said, "You must be wondering why I would have you join Wang Jiayin's rebel army."
Only then did everyone come to their senses. Yes, why indeed?
Li Daoxuan smiled, and with that smile, the clay mouth split apart, cracks spiderwebbing across the clay form with a crunching sound. Half of its face broke open, startling everyone.
"A heavenly secret! Heaven's secrets must not be divulged," Li Daoxuan declared. "You no longer need to concern yourselves with Wang Jiayin and Bu Zhan Ni. If you stabilize them for a short time and prevent them from attacking, they will never attack again."
Everyone quickly responded, "As you command!"
"Everyone must remember," Li Daoxuan continued, "Our purpose, from beginning to end, is singular: to ensure all the common people live good lives. Anyone who acts against this core principle, no matter who they are, is our enemy..."
As he spoke, he noticed that the clay form could no longer hold up.
With each opening and closing of its mouth as he spoke, mud and sand sloughed off the clay figure. Its structural integrity failed, and with a crash, half of its muddy face collapsed.
Li Daoxuan felt the surroundings blur instantly, transforming into a dark, starry sky. Countless streams of light and fragmented images flickered, receded, and vanished around him at high speed, before everything abruptly snapped back to normal. He was back in his own body, sitting on the second floor of his large villa, beside the diorama box.
That brief moment of entering the box felt like a dream, both real and illusory.
"Holy hell! This new function of the diorama box is pretty fun."
Li Daoxuan hurriedly searched the menu outside the diorama box. He looked left, then right, and finally found it: below the 'East, South, West, North, Center' buttons, there was now an additional button labeled "Co-sensing."
From that recent event, Li Daoxuan could confirm one thing: "Co-sensing" only required a medium; his own field of view didn't need to extend to that location. And that medium was his statues.
Any place with a statue, theoretically, should allow co-sensing, right?
He might as well try it out if the thought occurred to him.
Li Daoxuan reached out and tapped the "Co-sensing" button. The instant he pressed it, he remembered: "Oh, I haven't specified which statue to co-sense with yet!"
In that split second, the first image that flashed through his mind was the colossal golden statue in Chengcheng County...
The thought flickered, and *bam*, it was done.
He felt himself plummeting again into dark cosmic space, countless stars and streaks of light hurtling past him. Then, the blurry scenery around him sharpened, and in a flash, his vision cleared.
What a commanding overhead view!
It felt like Ultraman standing in Tokyo; all the surrounding buildings barely reached his waist.
He swiveled his gaze and found himself seated behind the City God Temple in Chengcheng County. His body was a colossal stone, coated with a layer of gold dust that made him glitter so intensely he could blind anyone with even the keenest vision.
He felt an urge to move his limbs, but Li Daoxuan refrained from acting rashly. Earlier, when he'd spoken a few words in Shanxi, the clay form had collapsed from the strain. He didn't want to damage this enormous golden statue as well.
After all, this was a wonder built by thousands of his 'little people,' who had poured countless hours of effort into its creation.
While building such wonders might 'mislead the nation' in the process, destroying them after they were finished would be an utter waste.
He remained perfectly still, seated with a majestic and solemn demeanor.
Suddenly, he noticed a small figure directly below him, chattering away. He shifted his gaze downwards and clearly saw: it was Liang Shixian.
