Chapter 279: Abomination of God

“The various Wizard Factions have held discussions and decided to split the Head of the Poisonous Undead Monarch equally.”

On the second day after arriving in the mountain forest, Cyril brought Su Nan new information.

“Split it equally?”

Su Nan's eyes flickered slightly.

This outcome was within expectations.

The body of a Divine Being was already fundamentally different from that of ordinary creatures; there was no concept of vital points or essential organs.

The head, throat, and heart held no more significance than any other part of its body.

A head was no more valuable than a similarly sized piece of its limbs.

So, an equal division of the Head of the Poisonous Undead Monarch was not surprising.

It seemed that with so many participating Wizard Factions, none felt confident enough to claim it all for themselves, leading to this agreement for an equal split.

“How many God Corpse Fragments are still unaccounted for?” Su Nan asked again. “I assume you’ve compared the numbers of God Corpse Fragments we currently have?”

Cyril glanced at Su Nan in surprise and couldn’t help but sigh, “Sometimes, I really suspect you’re a veteran Wizard who’s lived for five or six thousand years, with such a thorough understanding of the dynamics of each Wizard Faction.”

“That's right. We did exchange information. Now, all that’s left is the head. As long as we secure it, we'll have gathered all the Divine Corpse Fragments of the Poisonous Undead Monarch.”

Lize, who had been standing nearby, suddenly asked curiously, “Which Wizard Faction gathered the most God Corpse Fragments?”

Cyril spread his hands and replied, “The Star Spirit Clock Tower. Their efficiency in matters relating to the Divine Being is always astonishingly high.”

After a few casual remarks, Cyril steered the conversation back on track.

“Tomorrow, each Wizard Faction will send out a portion of their personnel to assist in dealing with the Divine Being in the mountain forest.”

“Lord Ronning has ordered that subordinate organizations do not need to participate in this battle. You can prepare for evacuation. Once we locate the Head of the Poisonous Undead Monarch and secure our share, this struggle will come to an end. Then you can leave the Earth Crystal Plane.”

After conveying the message, Cyril did not linger. He hurried back to the Wisdom Codex base to prepare for the upcoming battle.

“It’s finally coming to an end,” Lize breathed a sigh of relief.

She was participating in the command of the Plane War for the first time and was the most powerful commander after Su Nan, so the pressure she felt in her heart was considerable.

Although the battle for supremacy had only lasted just over six months, it felt to her like an eternity.

"Is it ending?"

Su Nan's eyes flickered slightly.

He was increasingly convinced that the spark for the Wizard Civil War was likely the Poisonous Undead Monarch's Head.

This operation might not go as smoothly as Cyril and the others had imagined.

"What's wrong?"

Seeing Su Nan’s pensive expression, Lize asked with concern.

Su Nan shook his head and replied, "Have all the troops board the Wizard Tower, Star Fortress, and Magic Ship, and be prepared to evacuate at any time."

After more than half a year of fighting, Star Alliance's Golem Legion had suffered significant losses, their numbers drastically reduced. However, with the twelve Wizard Towers 'contributed' by Black Suo Tower, even without the Magic Cube, Star Alliance's Wizard Tower and War Creation could easily transport all the troops.

Lize glanced at Su Nan, suspicion flickering in her eyes, but she chose not to question him. She nodded in agreement before turning to carry out the orders.

The next day, at noon, a group of wizards gathered at the entrance of the mountain forest.

Knowing they were facing a Divine Being, the various Wizard Factions sent at least Second Level Wizards.

At the forefront stood a dozen or so True Spirit Descendants, mostly the leaders of the different Wizard Factions.

The scattered Spiritual Power of hundreds of elite wizards intertwined, forming a powerful mental field that enveloped the mountain forest. Even from a distance, one could feel a palpable sense of oppression.

Su Nan observed from afar as the hundreds of wizards, led by the True Spirit Descendants, flew into the forest.

Not long after, violent Energy Particle Fluctuations erupted within the forest.

According to Cyril, over sixty Divine Beings lurked in the forest, making it arguably the largest group of Divine Beings they had encountered thus far.

Among them were many that had reached the second tier, and even two or three that had achieved the third tier.

However, in the face of the powerful formation that gathered the high-end combat power of numerous Wizard Factions, the Divine Beings were still no match.

Su Nan could clearly sense the fluctuations of Divine energy in the mountains rapidly decreasing.

About half an hour later, the Energy Particle Fluctuations in the mountains completely ceased, indicating that the battle had ended.

All that remained was to enter the cave and obtain the head of the Poisonous Undead Monarch for the operation to be a complete success.

"Now, it's time to discover the secrets hidden inside the cave."

A glimmer of light flashed in Su Nan's eyes.

At the same time, the team from the Wizard Alliance had arrived at the cave entrance.

Feeling the powerful Divine energy emanating from within, the True Spirit Descendants, led by Ronning and Bowen, exchanged excited glances.

Ronning and Bowen shared a brief look and stepped into the cave together.

Both were among the best of the younger generation of True Spirit Descendants and were naturally regarded as the leading figures of their respective factions for this operation.

To prevent any treachery from the other side, the final step had to be taken by both of them in unison.

The other Wizards remained outside to wait.

The cave was not large, spanning only about two or three hundred square meters. Its walls were uneven, covered with sharp protrusions, and the ground was marked with numerous animal footprints, evidently left by Divine beings from outside.

As soon as they entered, Ronning and Bowen's eyes were drawn to something deep within the cave.

It was a massive head with bluish-green skin and a hideous, grotesque face. The bald surface was dotted with numerous wart-like growths, their surfaces taut and thin, with faint green pus visible within.

Two sharp fangs protruded from its upper lip, gleaming with a faint chill.

Even though it was merely the severed head of a fallen God, standing before it evoked an indescribable pressure upon the powerful Ronning and Bowen.

An intangible thought intruded into the depths of their Sea of Consciousness, manifesting as blurry prayers and hymns that echoed relentlessly, attempting to twist their wills.

Bo Ben snorted coldly, focusing his Spiritual Power and instantly dispelling the thought from his mind.

At the same time, Ronning's gaze was only momentarily unfocused before quickly returning to clarity.

"Even a dead God possesses such formidable power. I truly wonder how terrifying a living God would be," he mused, sighing.

Bo Ben glanced at him sideways and scoffed, "Just a God. Haven't enough Gods died by the hands of Wizards? One day, I will personally slay a God and bring their corpse back to the Laboratory as a material."

Ronning smiled faintly and replied, "Ambitious indeed. Then we'll trouble you to seal this Poisonous Undead Monarch's Head."

Bo Ben grimaced but did not refuse. With a thought, the skin on his shoulder cracked, and pale bone spikes emerged, rapidly transforming into a massive skeletal claw that reached for the GodHead on the ground.

In that instant, the previously still Poisonous Undead Monarch suddenly opened its eyes, its gray-green pupils staring coldly at the approaching skeletal claw. The next moment, dense toxic gas erupted outwards!

As the skeletal claw came into contact with the toxic gas, it hissed as if doused in sulfuric acid, rapidly corroding and dissolving, with the effects spreading upwards.

Bo Ben's expression changed drastically, and he decisively severed the skeletal claw.

"What's going on?" he asked.

Ronning's expression also shifted as his eyes were fixed on the Poison Mist. A faint blue glow appeared in his pupils, and the previously dense and blurry Poison Mist in his vision suddenly became clear, revealing the inner situation.

He saw that the Poisonous Undead Monarch's Head was rapidly melting like butter meeting heat, transforming into a repulsive glob the size of a meatball in the blink of an eye, quickly expanding to about two meters in height.

Shh!

The meatball suddenly split open, and a grotesque figure emerged.

"Roar!"

A prehistoric, beast-like roar echoed within the cave, shaking the walls and causing dirt and rocks to fall.

The monster that emerged from the meatball stood about two meters tall, appearing as a robust humanoid with thick, dark green skin. Its demon-like face resembled a skull with a protruding jaw. Its body was covered in bulging muscles, its posture slightly hunched, and its claws were shaped like sharp blades.

"Divine Being?" Bo Ben frowned.

“No, that’s not right!” Ronning's expression grew grave. “That Divine Being is a creature transformed by divine infection; it’s impossible for it to originate from a God’s corpse!”

Upon hearing Ronning’s reminder, Bo Ben seemed to recall something, and their complexion immediately darkened.

“A… Abomination of God?”

“Most likely.”

Abominations of God are an extremely terrifying type of creature—a fact known to everyone in the world of Wizards.

The origins of Abominations of God are no longer traceable. Some say they were living weapons created during the wars of the Gods in the Archaic Era, while others believe they resulted from failed experiments with divine power.

After years of research, Wizards have determined that the most reliable source of Abominations of God occurs when a God’s corpse undergoes a transformation under specific, anomalous conditions.

The strength of an Abomination of God born in this manner depends on the original physical strength of the God that served as the progenitor, as well as the integrity of the corpse.

The strongest of these beings can possess strength comparable to that of a God, or even surpass it.

The weaker ones still hold power close to that of a True Spirit Wizard.

Because Abominations of God radiate extremely potent energy, they can infect any weaker beings that approach, transforming them into monsters driven solely by destruction and chaos. Consequently, the appearance of an Abomination of God often leads to the collapse and ruin of a world—or even an entire Plane.

In dealing with such existences, the Multiverse has reached a singular consensus: total annihilation is the only solution!

Ronning and Bo Ben had never expected to encounter such a rare occurrence as the birth of an Abomination of God here.

“The emergence of an Abomination of God not only requires a God’s corpse as its progenitor but also demands a massive source of energy nearby for it to absorb!” Ronning’s gaze darted around the cave.

His meaning was clear: there must be some source of energy present within this cavern.

However, the two companions didn’t need to wonder for long.

As the Abomination of God, which resembled a formidable humanoid creature, took a step forward, the cave wall behind it suddenly collapsed, revealing a hollow space beneath.

Inside the cavity, a multicolored light, as if the most dazzling and brilliant hues of the world had converged, hovered in mid-air, slowly rotating like a vortex.

A strange fluctuation instantly enveloped the entire cave.

The Energy Particles in the air became incredibly active in an instant.

Although Ronning and Bo Ben were not consciously absorbing the Energy Particles, they could clearly feel them frantically drilling into their bodies at that moment.

Suddenly, a realization dawned upon both of them.

In just a breath or two, their comprehension of the Law, which had been stagnant for so long, took a giant leap forward!

Seeing this, they quickly understood. Their faces reflected a mix of ecstasy and shock as they blurted out almost simultaneously,

“Law Source Vein!”

“Roar!”

Responding to them was an earth-shattering roar.

Ronning and Bo Ben finally snapped out of their joy, realizing that this was not the time for celebration.

As the Abomination of God charged toward them, their eyes sharpened, and they did not hesitate to unleash their Innate Abilities.

Whoosh!

The sound of surging waves echoed through the cave.

Countless sea-blue ripples appeared out of thin air, surging forward like powerful waves.

The moment the ripples struck, the Abomination of God felt as though it had plunged into the Deep Sea, its movements momentarily slowed by the pressure from all directions.

Seizing this opportunity, Bo Ben jabbed his right hand—with fingers together—forcefully into the palm of his left hand. After a muffled thud, an egg-sized wound appeared there.

Immediately, a blackish-gray liquid gushed out of the wound, frantically escaping.

Though the wound was small, it created the illusion of a dam bursting, with torrents of water surging forth.

Rushing sound!

In the blink of an eye, a blackish-gray torrent formed, roaring toward the Abomination of God, aiming to engulf and drown it!

It was the Innate Ability known as 'Dark Water,' ranked among the top ten of the Gloomy Throne.

“Roar!”

In response, the Abomination of God roared, dense, ghastly green mist pouring from its pores, enveloping its body and forming a layer of translucent mist armor.

As the armor formed, its movements, which had been slowed, regained their lightning speed, and it crashed head-on into the surging Dark Water!

"The Dark Water, capable of corroding and assimilating all living things, shattered upon impact with the Abomination of God, its fragments scattering in all directions.

The Abomination of God, however, remained unscathed, save for a slight thinning of the mist enveloping its form.

Witnessing this, both Ronning and Bowen were gripped by utter horror.

Despite having studied the information on the Abomination of God, it was only in this encounter that they truly grasped just how terrifying this creature, feared and loathed by countless races, really was.

Those below the True Spirit Wizard level would likely stand no chance against the Abomination of God!

Exchanging a glance, they turned and dashed out of the cave without a moment's hesitation.

Outside, the Wizards, noticing the disturbance from the roar, were considering whether to enter when Ronning and Bowen shot out like arrows, their expressions filled with panic.

"Quick, get out of here!"

"Leave this place!"

Both Ronning and Bowen shouted orders to their respective Deep Blue Alliance and Gloomy Throne companions.

Though puzzled, the members of the two Wizard factions obeyed the command and immediately retreated.

The other Wizards were only momentarily stunned when a ferocious figure charged out of the cave.

In the next instant, a torrential Ghastly Green Poison Mist rapidly spread outward, engulfing everything in its path."
