Chapter 274: Star Spirit Clock Tower and the Savage Spirit
“Is this the corpse fragment of the Poisonous Undead Monarch?”
Su Nan's gaze deepened as he observed the swamp below.
The greenish-blue water was incredibly viscous, constantly bubbling and emitting green smoke. It covered an area of about a hundred square meters, standing out starkly against the surrounding sandy terrain.
In the very center of the swamp floated a thumb-sized piece of grayish-white flesh.
Even from a distance, Su Nan could sense the intense energy particle fluctuations emanating from the flesh.
Surrounding the swamp lay more than twenty corpses of Divine Beings, alongside the remains of thousands of puppets.
This small piece of God Corpse Fragment had transformed into the remnants of dozens of Divine Beings.
The power and infectiousness of the divine were evident.
Su Nan reached out, using Mage Hand to grasp the grayish-white flesh, attempting to lift it out of the swamp.
"The corros
"But when he returned to the Wizard Tower, he discovered that Cyril had arrived.
"It seems your progress has been quite smooth, finding God Corpse Fragments so quickly," Cyril said.
His gaze fell upon the silver liquid sphere floating beside Su Nan, and his eyes lit up slightly.
With his spiritual power, he could naturally sense the dense divine energy within.
"Perfect, I brought a tool specifically for containing God Corpse Fragments."
Cyril flicked his hand, sending a ring floating slowly toward Su Nan.
Su Nan reached out and took it, carefully examining it for a few moments.
The ring had an ancient design, its surface covered with intricate and dense patterns, exuding a subtle sense of tranquility.
"This is a God Binding Ring created by the Star Spirit Clock Tower, capable of suppressing the leakage of divinity and divine power," Cyril explained.
Su Nan immediately understood.
Among the various Wizard Factions, the Star Spirit Clock Tower was undoubtedly the most enthusiastic about god-slaying.
Nearly three points of the gods that Wizards had eliminated to date were attributed to the efforts of the Star Spirit Clock Tower.
It was said that the founder of the Star Spirit Clock Tower vowed to hunt gods after his hometown plane was destroyed by one, leading to the creation of the faction with a primary purpose of god-slaying.
Most of the existing spells, magical items, and puppets designed to target gods in the Wizarding World were invented by Wizards from the Star Spirit Clock Tower.
As Su Nan placed the grayish-white chunk of flesh into the God Binding Ring, the pervasive erosive energy that filled the surroundings instantly vanished.
He retracted the liquid metal and nodded toward Cyril. "Thank you."
"You're welcome."
Cyril hesitated for a moment but ultimately decided against trying to persuade Su Nan to hand over the God Corpse Fragments to the Wisdom Codex first.
Judging by Su Nan's demeanor, he clearly did not intend to do so; it seemed he wanted to keep the God Corpse Fragments to study them himself.
In fact, nearly every subordinate organization would make the same choice.
After all, opportunities to study a god's corpse were rare.
"How is your progress going?" Su Nan asked, interrupting Cyril's thoughts.
Cyril smiled and replied, "
"Things have gone fairly smoothly; we've already seen some results. After all, the size of the army that the main headquarters sent to the Earth Crystal Plane this time is not small, and on top of that, we have a True Spirit Descendant leading them."
"True Spirit Descendant? Who is that?"
"Ronin Ward."
"What’s his connection to Darus Ward?"
Cyril looked at Su Nan with surprise. He hadn’t expected him to actually know about Lord Darus.
Among the many Great Scholars of the Wisdom Codex, Darus was considered one of the most low-key and least known. Many subsidiary organizations weren’t even aware of his existence. Cyril hadn’t expected Su Nan to be so informed.
"Ronin is Lord Darus's son," Cyril said, a hint of envy creeping into his voice. "He advanced to Tier 3 Crystallization Wizard a hundred years ago and is recognized by the Wisdom Codex as one of the most promising geniuses on the path to becoming a True Spirit Wizard."
Su Nan's eyes flickered, and he asked, "Which other Wizard Factions are also led by True Spirit Descendants?"
Cyril chuckled and replied, "There are many: the Deep Blue Alliance, Star Spirit Clock Tower, Gloomy Throne, Bloodline Jungle... All the large Wizard Factions are led by True Spirit Descendants. In addition, the Pale Mask, Sea King Whale, Thousand-Headed Bird, and Rainbow Light City, among others, follow the same pattern."
At this point, Cyril glanced at Su Nan with a strange expression and hesitantly asked, "I heard you killed Black Suo Tower's Makaro in the City of All Things— is that true?"
Su Nan admitted candidly, "That's correct."
It truly was.
Cyril clicked his tongue in wonder but wasn’t overly surprised. He had witnessed firsthand the terrifying power of Su Nan’s third Innate Ability combined with his Alchemy Imprint. Although Makaro was also a renowned expert among Tier 3 Wizards, he stood no chance against such a powerful attack.
What puzzled him, however, was how Makaro hadn’t managed to escape.
"Then you'd better be careful. Black Suo Tower always holds grudges. You killed one of their promising Tier 3 Wizards, and they definitely won’t let it go."
"Normally, it wouldn't be a problem. They wouldn’t dare to act openly, but on the Earth Crystal Plane, they lack such scruples. I suspect they’ll most likely target the Star Alliance."
Su Nan said calmly, “Thanks for the reminder. I'll be careful.”
Seeing that Su Nan seemed to have a plan, Cyril chose not to say much more. After exchanging a few more words, he took his leave.
However, after flying a short distance, he couldn’t help but glance back at the busy Golem Legion in the distance, a hint of doubt flashing in his eyes.
Wasn’t the number of Star Alliance’s troops a bit too high?
After a moment of contemplation, Cyril shook his head, pushed aside his doubts, and moved on.
Once Cyril was gone, Su Nan turned to Lize and instructed him, “Find the encampments of the other Wizard Factions and send out the Red-eyed Crow to monitor their movements, especially the Black Wizard Forces.”
Lize nodded in agreement and then asked, “Did Cyril bring any news?” Su Nan didn’t hold back and recounted the situation regarding Black Suo Tower.
Upon hearing this, Lize nodded slightly to indicate his understanding but didn’t seem overly concerned.
At any other time, Black Suo Tower’s strength would certainly surpass that of the Star Alliance, but the situation was very different now.
Within the Earth Crystal Plane, aside from those few Large Wizard Factions, the Star Alliance really didn’t have to worry about anyone else.
After giving his instructions, Su Nan went to the laboratory, activated the Magic Array for isolation, and then took out the God Corpse Fragments to begin his study.
In the Wizarding World, a god’s corpse was an extremely valuable and versatile material.
Extracting divinity to cultivate Divine Beings was a common practice, not to mention its use in creating potions, magical items, and puppets.
For instance, the Divine Golem.
The Divine Golem was a type of Flesh Golem.
It is important to note that Flesh Golems were originally one of the lowest-ranked golems. However, the creator of the Divine Golem took a different approach, using god corpses as the base and merging numerous rare materials to refine the Divine Golem.
The Divine Golem not only possessed an indestructible body and immunity to all spells below the sixth ring, but it could also utilize some divine power, earning it the title of the strongest war weapon below a True Spirit Wizard.
Even when facing a True Spirit Wizard, it had the power to fight back.
If a Divine Golem were created using a mid-grade or high-grade divine power god corpse, it could even confront a True Spirit Wizard directly.
"It could be said that the Divine Golem is one of Puppet's greatest masterpieces. Only a legendary construct like the Arcane Construct can rival the Divine Golem. Beyond this, there have been Wizards who attempted to fuse with Divine Corpse fragments to modify their bodies, but due to the high level of contamination from the divine forces, there have not been many practical research outcomes thus far.
After spending three days thoroughly studying the God Corpse Fragments, Su Nan organized the experimental data and then unhesitatingly drained all the divine energy from the fragments. Although he had plenty of divine energy, he adhered to the principle of not letting anything go to waste.
As it turned out, the Wisdom Codex did not stipulate that the God Corpse Fragments handed over must still contain divine energy.
Time passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye, more than a month had gone by since they entered the Earth Crystal Plane. Thanks to the tireless search efforts of the Star Alliance army, five more pieces of God Corpse Fragments were discovered in addition to the first piece, each about the size of a palm.
However, after that, the pace of their search slowed significantly. This was mainly because, as the search area expanded, the chances of encountering other Wizard Factions increased. In recent days, the Star Alliance army had encountered other Wizard Faction search teams in the wilderness three times already. Each time, both sides exercised restraint, passing each other without incident and avoiding any conflicts.
Yet Su Nan was acutely aware that this was only temporary. Once the majority of the God Corpse Fragments were found and there were fewer pieces remaining, the various Wizard Factions would inevitably resort to force to compete for them. At that point, true chaos would ensue.
Having just finished his cultivation, Su Nan opened his eyes and received a message from Lize, prompting him to go to the Council Hall. Lize and the others were already gathered in the hall, staring intently at a light screen suspended in the air. Upon seeing Su Nan, Lize said, “You’ve come at just the right time. The red-eyed crow detected that the Deep Blue Alliance and the Savage Spirit have started a war. I sent a Wizard over there, and he relayed the battlefield images. I think it's crucial for us to observe the war strengths of the major Wizard Factions.”
Su Nan raised an eyebrow in surprise, not expecting the Deep Blue Alliance and Savage Spirit to clash so soon.
It seemed they had both discovered large God Corpse Fragments simultaneously and, unwilling to back down, had erupted into battle.
Arriving before the Light Screen, Su Nan focused his gaze.
The view was clear, offering a slanted perspective from high above that encompassed most of the battlefield.
Across the expansive field, millions of beings were engaged in chaotic melee, including Human Knights, Golem Puppets, and a variety of other strange and bizarre creatures.
Some of these creatures were Alchemic Creatures from within the Wizard Laboratory, some were members of the Indigenous Races of the Subordinate Plane, and others were Slave Soldier Legions from the Slave Market.
Many bizarre and ferocious beasts roamed the battlefield, including prehistoric giants with sharp fangs and claws.
Su Nan even spotted a giant bird, its body wreathed in hundreds of thin black wisps of smoke and covered in metallic feathers, locked in a stalemate with a Dragon.
"An ancient exotic beast nurtured by Savage Spirit, is it?" Su Nan mused, his eyes flickering slightly.
Savage Spirit was well-known for their expertise in cultivating exotic beasts. This creature resembled the Thousand-Headed Bird, but in reality, the two were vastly different.
Not only were Savage Spirit’s skills in nurturing exotic beasts far superior to those relating to the Thousand-Headed Bird, but their methods were also much more aggressive.
Hunting ancient exotic beasts was commonplace for them, and they often attacked other Wizards just to snatch away their prized creatures.
Additionally, Savage Spirit had repeatedly tried to fuse various beings, including humans, with exotic beasts in an attempt to create new entities.
Many Wizards had been captured by Savage Spirit and used as expendable materials for their fusion experiments.
Such an aggressive style naturally bred resentment among other Wizards, leading to the classification of Savage Spirit as a Black Wizard Force.
Compared to their actions, Su Nan's previous biological modification experiments seemed like mere child's play.
Pushing those thoughts aside, he continued to observe the unfolding scene.
"Thousands of races clashed in a brutal battle on the field, a spectacle worthy of the Great War of Myriad Races!
In this Plane Battlefield, Knights and Great Knights were little more than cannon fodder, with only Legendary Knights qualifying as the main force.
On the battlefield, the combatants on both sides possessed impressively high Legion power levels.
A significant portion consisted of legendary combatants, and there were also quite a few at the Wizard level.
From the visuals alone—including Wizards, Puppets, and various powerful creatures—the number of Wizard-level combatants was estimated to be no fewer than three thousand.
"The entire Star Alliance's Wizard-level combat power combined barely exceeds a thousand."
"And what we see on the battlefield is just a small fraction of the total strength of the Deep Blue Alliance and the Savage Spirit. The background of the Large Wizard Faction is indeed very profound, and the Star Alliance still has a long way to go to catch up to them."
Su Nan sighed inwardly, his gaze shifting to the sky above the battlefield.
There, densely packed War Creations and Wizard Towers floated. Their numbers were far fewer than those on the ground, but the intensity of the fighting was no less fierce.
One side deployed hundreds of towering, majestic pagodas, their entire bodies a sea-blue color. Though somewhat smaller than Small Wizard Towers, they were still considered behemoths.
Mobile Spires!
The renowned War Creations of the Deep Blue Alliance Multiverse!"
