Chapter 267: Starry Sky Tower, Reshaping the Body
After advancing, Su Nan upgraded the Inscribed Gem once more.
Now, the maximum number of Inscribed Gems that could be synthesized had increased to eighty-five. Their power was comparable to that of a Spell Turret Type II, capable of instantly killing a Level One Wizard and severely injuring a Level Two Vaporization Wizard with a single shot.
Dragons were all experts in appraisal, so Guang Yao Long naturally recognized the value of this Inscribed Gem.
"Not bad, Gemstone," Guang Yao Long said, reluctantly withdrawing his gaze. "I’ll trade this Gemstone for the second Pure Soul Flower."
To his surprise, Su Nan shook his head and replied, "One Inscribed Gem for two Pure Soul Flowers."
Guang Yao Long was taken aback and frowned. "No way, I can only trade one. If you don’t find it worthwhile, then forget it."
Su Nan smiled slightly as he put away the Inscribed Gem and the Tentacle Puppet.
"My apologies."
With that, he turned and headed for the door.
Just as the three reached the door, Guang Yao Long’s voice suddenly called out from behind them.
"Wait!"
Su Nan paused and turned back to look at Guang Yao Long.
The latter rolled his eyes and said irritably, "Two it is, then."
The corners of Su Nan's mouth curled up slightly.
He had simply wanted to test the waters, but unexpectedly, he succeeded.
It seemed the Inscribed Gem had an unusually strong appeal to Guang Yao Long.
Thinking about it, it made sense. A Tentacle Puppet could be exchanged for one Pure Soul Flower, and the value of an Inscribed Gem was greater than that of a Tentacle Puppet. Given the allure that Magic Gems had for Dragons, his success was logical.
For Su Nan, the cost of an Inscribed Gem was far less than that of a Tentacle Puppet. Trading an Inscribed Gem for a Pure Soul Flower was undoubtedly more beneficial.
If he had known the Inscribed Gem was this attractive, he should have presented it at the beginning and traded directly for two Pure Soul Flowers.
He wasn't worried that Guang Yao Long would figure out how to manufacture the Inscribed Gem.
The compatibility between Gemstone and Rune Engraving was an unsolvable problem. Except for someone like the Magic Cube, who possessed a Golden Finger, there was simply no way to resolve it.
Even if Guang Yao Long spent thousands of years researching it, they couldn't expect to achieve any results.
Guang Yao Long reached into the void, tearing open a Space Rift. Within it, they felt around before pulling out two silver-gray flowers.
The two then completed their trade.
With the Inscribed Gem in hand, Guang Yao Long's mood immediately improved, their eyes sparkling as they smiled and asked Su Nan, "Do you have any extra Inscribed Gems?"
Su Nan raised an eyebrow, smiling but not quite laughing. "I do have some, and I'm willing to trade, but I'm not sure if you have what I desire."
Guang Yao Long waved a hand dismissively. "I have all kinds of treasures here; just tell me what you want!"
"Do you have the design schematics for the Supreme Golem?"
"That’s a secret of the major Wizard Factions; how could I possibly have it?"
"What about the design schematics for the Elemental Furnace?"
"That's even more precious than the Supreme Golem."
"Then how about the design schematics for War Creation?"
Guang Yao Long fell silent.
The items Su Nan mentioned were all secrets of the major Wizard Factions, and no matter how powerful the Radiance Pavilion was, it was impossible for them to obtain such knowledge.
"Don't you want some Wizard Tools, Potions, or perhaps some rare Materials?"
Su Nan thought for a moment, then sighed and replied, "Alright, then I'll just trade for some Materials."
This display of reluctance, as if saying, "I'm not really willing, but since you want it so much, I suppose I’ll trade," caused Guang Yao Long to pause, their lips twitching several times.
However, they were in a seller's market and could only pretend not to notice.
Wizard Tools and Potions were unnecessary for Su Nan, as they could synthesize those themselves.
After careful selection, Su Nan ultimately used twenty-three Inscribed Gems to trade for a large quantity of rare Materials from Guang Yao Long.
The cost of each upgraded Inscribed Gem was less than twenty-three thousand Gold Coins, making the total cost for the twenty-three only slightly over five hundred twenty thousand Gold Coins, equivalent to the cost of a single Tentacle Puppet.
The total value of the Materials received in exchange was estimated to be well over forty million!
This trade was simply too good to be true!
Su Nan secretly decided that if he ever found himself short on materials in the future, he might as well go to Radiance Pavilion to "stock up."
However, things were valued for their rarity. Once too many Inscribed Gems began trading with Guang Yao Long, their appeal would likely diminish dramatically. He needed to carefully manage the supply.
After the transaction was completed, Guang Yao Long, eager to admire his Inscribed Gem, waved the three of them out of the shop, then closed the door and hung a "closed" sign.
Su Nan shook his head with a chuckle, not taking offense. The more than forty million materials alone meant today was already a tremendous success.
Snapping out of his delight, Su Nan turned to Tanna and asked, "Do the Hall of Truth and House of All Things sell blueprints for the Supreme Golem, War Creation, and Elemental Furnace?"
Tanna shook his head with a wry smile. "No."
Just as Guang Yao Long had said, those three items were secrets of the Wizard Faction, and no one would sell them.
After a moment of hesitation, Tanna added, "There definitely aren’t any for War Creation and Elemental Furnace, but there might be some for the Supreme Golem Design in one place."
Su Nan's expression changed slightly. "Starry Sky Tower?"
Tanna was momentarily surprised but quickly understood. From their previous conversation, it was evident that Su Nan had some knowledge of the City of All Things, and he surely knew about its most famous site, the Starry Sky Tower.
Lize, having never heard of the place, asked curiously, "What is the Starry Sky Tower?"
Tanna explained, "The Starry Sky Tower is a place for Wizards to exchange information, seek teammates to explore Planes together, or hire help. Essentially, it’s a venue where Wizards post and accept tasks and buy and sell information."
Lize understood, exclaiming in amazement. It sounded very similar to Starlight Academy's Task Hall, but with the added ability to buy and sell information.
“Most of the missions in Starry Sky Tower are posted by outside Wizards. All Things Assembly's missions only make up a very small portion, but many of the rewards are generous, so many Wizards from the Wizard Faction often come here to earn extra money."
"But you can typically find only Level 3 Wizards at the Starry Sky Tower at most. After all, the True Spirit Wizards have all gone to the Realm of Truth, and they rarely come to the Starry Sky Tower."
"Lize asked, 'So you're saying that the rewards for those missions include Supreme Golem blueprints?'
Tanna shook his head. 'No, while the mission rewards are generous, they don't include a treasure like the Supreme Golem Design. I'm talking about the Duels Arena.'
'Duels Arena?'
'That's correct. The upper levels of the Starry Sky Tower have special arenas for cultivators to battle. The original intention was to provide a place for cultivators to privately resolve conflicts through combat, preventing public fights. However, some cultivators began using these arenas to initiate Duels, wagering spirit stones, pills, and rare materials, which gradually sparked a trend of Duels in the Arena.'
'As it has developed, Duels have become a major feature of the upper levels of the Starry Sky Tower. You can often see many valuable items there. I even saw someone use a Supreme Golem Design as a wager for a Duel before.'
Lize understood.
It was evident that cultivators who participated in the Duels Arena challenges had to pay a price.
Those who set up Duels were after the challenger's 'challenge fee', while the challengers sought the wager of the duel.
Both sides were in it for their gains.
It was clear that cultivators, who valued practicality above all else, would never participate in any Duels otherwise. That kind of empty fame held no value for them.
'That's indeed a good idea,' Su Nan agreed, nodding. 'Then I'll trouble you to keep an eye out. If you find someone using the Supreme Golem Design as a wager in the Duels Arena, let me know immediately.'
'No problem,' Tanna responded, patting his chest.
This was a small matter for him.
'Are you planning to stay in the City of All Things for a while?' Lize asked Su Nan.
Su Nan nodded. 'Now that we have the Pure Soul Flower, I’ll find a place to help you with your body tempering. While you're adjusting to your new form, we can wait for news about the Supreme Golem Design.'
This arrangement was reasonable, and Lize had no objections. The thought of being able to temper her body soon excited her.
The City of All Things was abundant with different types of workshops. With Tanna's help, Su Nan quickly found a magic workshop that specialized in such tasks and rented a laboratory."
After that, Tanna bid farewell to the two and hurried toward the Starry Sky Tower.
Su Nan, on the other hand, took Lize to the laboratory and commenced the body reshaping surgery.
Compared to collecting materials, the process of reshaping the body was much simpler.
After all, reshaping a physical body was no different from creating a magic item. After hundreds of years of practice, Su Nan's magic item creation skills had already reached level 6.
When it came to the Level 3 Wizard profession, few could match his attainments.
Even without the ability of Cube Synthesis, he could truly be called a master of magic item creation.
Two days later, Su Nan had perfectly molded the body.
The next step was the fusion of the soul.
Su Nan placed the Codex container, where Lize resided, flat on the abdomen of the body. He then took out the essence liquid refined from the Pure Soul Flower and poured it onto the Codex.
The silver liquid slowly flowed down the surface of the Codex, landing on the snow-white, smooth skin, gradually seeping into it.
At the same time, a faint silver light enveloped the body.
The once lifeless body began to emanate a fresh aura of life from within.
In Su Nan's spirit perception, a more solid and heavier soul aura was also born deep within the body, and its intensity continuously increased.
First Level Wizard Apprentice, Second Level Wizard Apprentice, Third Level Wizard Apprentice, Level 1 Gaseous Wizard...
The soul aura only stopped increasing when it reached the Second Stage Crystallization Wizard level.
After that, everything fell into silence.
Su Nan waited patiently; this was the crucial moment for the fusion of the soul with the body. All the necessary steps had been completed, and now, all he could do was wait.
Under the bright light of the magic stone lamp, the perfect female body lay quietly on the workbench.
Beneath the snow-white skin, the faint outlines of smooth, flowing muscle lines were visible. The proportions of the slender limbs were almost flawless, and the exquisite, near-unreal facial features and rosy cheeks were breathtakingly beautiful.
As time passed, after more than two hours, Lize on the workbench suddenly opened her eyes.
She narrowed her eyes, adjusting to the light of the Magic Stone Lamp. Slowly, she sat up and extended a pale hand in front of her face, repeatedly clenching and unclenching her fist. Then, she looked down to examine her body.
After several minutes of this, she sighed and said, "Indeed, a body with warmth is much more comfortable. I feel absolutely fantastic right now."
"That's good. Congratulations on successfully Reshaping the Body," Su Nan said, handing over the prepared clothing.
"Thank you."
Lize smiled sweetly at him, a rare and bright smile gracing her face. She took the clothes and began to dress in front of him without hesitation.
"The fusion of your Soul with your physical body is perfect, but your body still needs time to adapt. During this process, your Physique will gradually strengthen until it matches the power of your Spiritual Energy. In the meantime, it's best not to cultivate, experiment, or engage in combat."
"I understand," Lize replied, nodding solemnly.
She had waited over a thousand years; naturally, she wouldn't mind waiting a few more months.
This time would be perfect for wandering around the City of All Things and relaxing.
As the excitement and joy from Reshaping the Body began to subside, Lize sincerely thanked Su Nan once more.
Su Nan chuckled, brushing off her gratitude. "No need for thanks. Don't forget our deal. From now on, you'll be working like a dog for me."
Lize rolled her eyes slightly and replied, "Yes, yes, Master Controller."
She couldn't help but laugh after saying that.
The primary goal of her trip to the City of All Things—Reshaping the Body—was accomplished.
As for the Supreme Golem Design, Su Nan maintained an indifferent attitude; if it was available, great, but if not, it wasn't the end of the world.
In the worst-case scenario, he would simply spend a bit more money to synthesize a higher-level Golem instead.
With a relaxed mindset, the two spent the rest of their time exploring the City of All Things, broadening their horizons and learning a great deal of new information.
It wasn't until more than two months later, when Lize had largely adapted to her new physical body, that Tanna brought good news.
Someone in Starry Sky Tower had offered a Supreme Golem Design as a stake in an Arena Duel bet!
When he heard this, Su Nan's first reaction was, "What a coincidence!"
How could someone happen to pull out the Supreme Golem Design as a wager at this exact moment?
Initially, he hadn't held much hope for it.
Of course, it could genuinely be a coincidence, but Su Nan was more inclined to believe someone was orchestrating events behind the scenes.
As for who that might be...
Taking a deep look at Tanna before him, Su Nan simply said, "Let's go to the Starry Sky Tower."
Feeling a sudden thump in his chest under Su Nan's gaze, Tanna quickly lowered his head and led the way.
Passing through the Teleportation Array, the group soon arrived at their destination.
What came into view was a towering white pagoda, reaching straight into the sky like a spear.
Due to the building obscuring their view, they could only see the upper portion of the tower.
Even so, the palpable majestic grandeur that assailed them was undeniable!
