Chapter 182: The Restrictions of Wizard, Future Plans
A Wizard, even a newly promoted one, could kill a Level Three Wizard Apprentice as easily as crushing an ant.
Casually obliterating more than a dozen Level Three Wizard Apprentices did not give Su Nan the slightest sense of accomplishment.
After all, a Wizard and a Level Three Wizard Apprentice were fundamentally different beings, existing at different levels.
Such an outcome was only natural.
However, some discoveries during the battle caused Su Nan to frown slightly.
Shaking his head, Su Nan temporarily suppressed his doubts, reached out, and collected the Space Ring from the deceased members of the Truth Council group. He then turned to the four people from Ke Yi.
"Are you all alright?" Su Nan asked.
Scepter, Traveler, and Rose shook their heads subconsciously, only to suddenly snap back to reality, their faces a complex mixture of shock, confusion, and disbelief.
"Su Nan, you... you've advanced to Wizard?"
The answer was, of course, expected.
"That's right," Su Nan admitted plainly.
Scepter glanced at the shattered top of the Star Tower and hesitated. "Then, inside the Star Tower..."
Su Nan replied calmly, "Everything inside has been taken by me. The Star Tower is now just an empty shell."
With his advancement to Wizard, there was no one on the Starlight Continent that Su Nan feared.
The power of a Wizard was sufficient to sweep across the Starlight Continent. With such strength, he found no need to conceal anything.
As expected, upon hearing this, Scepter wanted to say something but ultimately remained silent.
In the face of Su Nan, who had already become a Wizard, they could no longer muster the confidence to speak to him as equals.
"Let's go back."
Su Nan waved his hand casually, and a Small Golem Legion materialized out of thin air, heavily surrounding the Star Tower.
Although he had emptied all the resources from the Star Tower, the tower itself was composed of valuable materials.
Su Nan still planned to keep it and dismantle it later. The materials would be used to construct a Wizard Tower, so he naturally wouldn’t allow anyone else to touch it.
During his absence, the Golem Legion would guard the Star Tower.
Just in case, Su Nan not only left behind a Secret Puppet but also destroyed the Elemental Pool within the Star Tower.
This ensured that the Star Tower, having lost its energy source, could no longer escape into the Dimensional Space and had no choice but to remain in the Material World.
It wasn't until Su Nan and the others had moved far away that the onlookers gradually emerged from their hiding places. They gazed at the Golem Legion surrounding the Star Tower and looked at each other helplessly.
"What do we do now?"
"What else can we do? Let’s just leave. Do you think you can defeat so many Golems? I’m just warning you, there's a Mithril Golem among them!"
"Even if we could win, what then? Do you want to be hunted down by that one? Didn’t you see how those Level Three Wizard Apprentices were crushed like ants?"
"I didn't expect someone to actually advance to the Wizard realm."
"From now on, the Starlight Continent is likely going to change."
The crowd wore complex expressions as they recalled the scene they had just witnessed, a sense of having witnessed history stirring in their hearts.
After flying a short distance, Scepter, Rose, and Traveler successively took their leave.
In the presence of Su Nan, the three felt immense pressure and did not dare to linger any longer.
Su Nan didn't mind; he manipulated the Liquid Metal to envelop himself and Ke Yi, shaping it into a shuttle, and shot towards Flash City like lightning.
What had taken them four days to travel was now completed in just half a day under Su Nan's full effort.
After parting ways with Ke Yi in Flash City, Su Nan returned to Base Number 1, passed through the Spatial Channel, and made his way back to Long Lin.
Upon returning to the control center at the top of Dragon Bone Tower, he immediately summoned Butler Number 1 to check the operation logs of Long Lin for the past two years.
Before leaving, Su Nan had anticipated the possibility of not returning for a long time and had made prior arrangements; consequently, Long Lin had experienced no problems, and everything was running smoothly.
However, a significant number of miscellaneous tasks had accumulated and required his immediate attention.
Additionally, there were likely many issues at the Star Alliance that needed his decisions after two years of accumulation.
But these were not urgent.
Su Nan had other matters that required immediate verification.
Standing next to the Elemental Pool, Su Nan executed several spells and manipulated the Energy Particles for a while, ultimately confirming his suspicions.
“As expected, the density of Energy Particles is the greatest constraint on a Wizard.”
Su Nan's expression was somewhat complex.
He had noticed this during his attack on the Truth Council; the intensity of Energy Particles he could mobilize was far lower than his control limit.
If the intensity of Energy Particles he could control was 100, then the intensity he could mobilize was only 20 at most.
This also meant that the power of the Spell he cast, as well as his control over Energy Particles, was only about 20% of his normal capacity!
The reduction in power was secondary; the key issue was that the subtle strengthening of the flesh by Energy Particles, along with the growth and recovery speed of Spiritual Power, would be greatly affected.
Su Nan now truly understood the adverse effects of energy deficiency.
Previously, when he was still an Apprentice Wizard, he didn't feel it too much because his power had not yet approached the upper limit of the Starlight Continent’s Energy Particles density.
However, after advancing to Wizard, his power level suddenly broke through that limit, and he truly experienced what it meant to be energy-deficient.
In this environment, not only would a Wizard's strength be significantly weakened, but cultivation would also be greatly impeded.
Moreover, the sensory experience was quite uncomfortable.
When he first advanced to Wizard, he was near the Elemental Pool, so he didn't feel it as much. But after leaving the Star Tower, he felt as if a normal person had suddenly arrived in a place with thin air.
“No wonder the Wizards of a thousand years ago left the Starlight Continent; this place is truly unfit for Wizards.”
Su Nan sighed.
He lacked the ability to travel between planes at that moment, so he had no choice but to remain in the Starlight Continent.
“And the Plane Barrier recovery that the auxiliary intelligent life of the Star Tower spoke of… Perhaps there are still secrets I don't know about the events from a thousand years ago.”
In his previous life, when Su Nan entered the game, it was already version 2.0, "Wizard Returns." He didn’t know much about the earlier version 1.0 and the transitional storyline that followed; he had only vaguely seen some information and heard whispers here and there.
He had originally thought that the Starlight Continent was merely a simple Elemental Desert, but it now seemed to be much more complex.
“There seem to be some books in the Star Tower that mention this topic; I need to find the time to read them.”
Su Nan let out a long breath and began to contemplate his next steps.
First, there’s the matter of cultivation.
The growth and refinement of gaseous Spiritual Power is exceptionally slow, with an increase of even a single percentage point taking years to achieve. Moreover, the current energy in the Starlight Continent is scarce. Without external assistance, maintaining the current level, let alone improving it, is considered a good outcome.
"God Blood Amber has virtually no effect on me now."
"Transcendental Potion too; I need to synthesize a higher-level potion."
Combining Elemental Pool, potions, and Divine Energy should be enough to counteract the effects of energy scarcity. After that, I need to find alternative methods to accelerate the growth of my Spiritual Power.
Secondly, there’s the matter of Wizard Artifacts.
This isn’t difficult for Su Nan. If it weren't for the limitations of his Spiritual Power, he would have synthesized a Wizard Artifact back when he was still an Other: Wizard Apprentice. However, Su Nan doesn't plan on casually synthesizing any old Wizard Artifact.
While other Wizards have no choice, he has a Synthesis Cube, which provides him with many options. It’s best to synthesize a Wizard Artifact that aligns with his fighting style and system, as this will produce a greater effect than the sum of its parts. This matter also requires careful consideration.
Then there are the experiments.
Now that he has advanced to Wizard, he can pursue many experiments that were previously impossible due to the limitations of Spiritual Power. These include the improvement of the Secret Puppet and Bloodline Mark, as well as higher-level Rune Inscription compared to Magic Tattoo, and so on.
Finally, there’s the Wizard Tower.
As one of the greatest alchemical creations in the history of Wizard civilizations, the Wizard Tower is renowned throughout the Multiverse. Countless planar civilizations have succumbed to the bombardment of the Wizard Tower’s cannons, and its reputation has spread across countless planes.
There is a saying circulating in the Multiverse: What is more terrifying than a Wizard? A Wizard with a Wizard Tower! Every Wizard hopes to possess their own Wizard Tower.
However, building a Wizard Tower is not simple. A qualified Wizard Tower must have a stable magic energy supply, a Mystical Locking Protective Energy Field, an Ultra Long Range Strike Device, a built-in Golem Legion, and a Tower Spirit construct commander, among other requirements.
The resources required to construct even the most basic Wizard Tower are valued in the tens of millions of Gold Coins.
Even a formal wizard rarely possesses enough Gold Coins to afford it.
Consequently, many First Level Wizards do not have their own Wizard Towers.
Among Second Level Wizards, only a select few can afford to build one.
Broadly speaking, Wizard Towers can be divided into two types: those that can fly and those that cannot.
The Wizard Towers that cannot fly mainly refer to those built on Leyline Nodes.
This type of Wizard Tower is often bound to the Leyline Node, fixed in place and unable to detach, let alone take to the skies.
In the eyes of many wizards, this type of Wizard Tower fails to deserve its name.
Unless they are short on funds and have a compelling reason to build a Wizard Tower, very few wizards would choose to construct one on a Leyline Node.
The vast majority of wizards opt to create "flying" Wizard Towers.
In the classification system of Wizard civilization, Wizard Towers are divided into Small, Medium, and Large, from the lowest to the highest scale.
The larger the Wizard Tower, the more expensive it is to construct.
Su Nan does not dare to dream of a Medium or Large Wizard Tower at this moment.
Even if he dismantled the entire Starlight Continent, he would still not be able to gather enough resources to build a Medium Wizard Tower.
His goal is a Small Wizard Tower.
Do not underestimate it just because it's small; its size far surpasses the Star Tower.
"Building a Wizard Tower requires a vast amount of resources. Given the current state of the Starlight Continent, constructing even one for a wizard is incredibly challenging."
"Dismantling the Star Tower would provide some resources, but the deficit remains enormous."
"Gathering the remaining resources relies on the current Star Alliance, which is impossible."
A flicker of determination crossed Su Nan's eyes as he devised a plan.
Before constructing a Wizard Tower, the first step is to unify the Starlight Continent!
Only in this way can he integrate the manpower and resources of the entire continent and concentrate all efforts on building the Wizard Tower.
Unifying the surface world is not overly difficult; most of it can be entrusted to the Starry Sky Empire. He just needs to focus on resolving matters with other Wizard Apprentices.
"As for the Underworld, it will be handled by the Star Alliance.
Additionally, he needs to locate the Black Forest and Falling Star City.
These two Wizard Inheritances likely hold a significant amount of resources, and acquiring them should alleviate much of the resource pressure he faces.
It just so happens that the clue to the Black Forest is in the hands of Spider City, so he might as well start there, taking the first step towards the Star Alliance's unification of the Underworld.
After contemplating for a moment, Su Nan devised a plan for the future.
Next, he needed to consider the matter of the Dark Throne.
After taking down the Star Tower, he had undoubtedly formed a grudge with the Dark Throne. The Dark Throne was not a benevolent organization known for its tolerance, and once they returned to the Starlight Continent, they would surely seek revenge. Thus, he had to prepare in advance.
"I remember the official start time for version 2.0 is around the Starlight Calendar 2000."
"However, in the decade leading up to that, various Wizard Powers had already begun sending people to the Starlight Continent to gather information and establish outposts, preparing for the arrival of their main forces."
Su Nan vaguely recalled that among the first batch of Wizard Powers that sent outposts to the Starlight Continent was the Dark Throne.
He remembered this because the Wizards of the Dark Throne had caused significant bloodshed in the Starlight Continent, plunging the Players at the time into over a decade of darkness.
It wasn't until the various Wizard Powers established a presence in the Starlight Continent that the influence of the Dark Throne was curtailed, and the situation for the Players improved somewhat.
Eventually, as the Players grew stronger, they united to counterattack the Dark Throne.
"Now it's the Starlight Calendar 1269; there are still seven hundred years until the first batch of Wizards enters the Starlight Continent."
Su Nan pondered quietly.
Such a long time was ample opportunity for him to turn the Starlight Continent into his own domain and construct a Wizard Tower.
By the time the followers of the Dark Throne entered the Starlight Continent, he might even be able to surprise them.
Although he had previously offended a notoriously fierce Wizard Power from the Multiverse before the elemental revival began, Su Nan was not overly concerned. The Multiverse was home to more than just the Dark Throne.
Within a short time, many options had already emerged in Su Nan's mind.
Deep Blue Alliance, Star Spirit Clock Tower, and Wisdom Codex.
While there weren't many powers capable of contending with the Dark Throne, a few could certainly rival it, enough to count on one hand.
Surely, no Wizard Power would turn away a genius capable of advancing to the Wizard stage in just thirty years, especially in a resource-scarce environment like the Elemental Desert.
As for lifespan, there was even less to be concerned about.
A Wizard who has undergone a sublimation of their life level enjoys a lifespan far exceeding that of ordinary humans.
A first-level Vaporization Wizard already boasts a lifespan of seven to eight hundred years, and by integrating some longevity Bloodline or undergoing physical modifications, living for a thousand years wouldn’t pose a problem.
