Chapter 703: Amber

The Main God’s target was, without a doubt, this very world!

The ordinary people on Water Blue Star woke up to suddenly discover many strange things had appeared around them.

For instance, there were massive floating warships visible even from the ground, or strange individuals in outlandish attire, their faces radiating an air of "I'm the greatest in the world; natives, kneel and grovel!", and now, a surging sea of yellow light.

It was a dazzling radiance like yellow amber, a light that, in an instant, transformed the entire planet into a colossal piece of amber.

An amber the size of a planet.

Streams of resin-like light, moving at a reaction speed that surpassed all life on the surface, engulfed them.

All the "bugs" trapped within, with the exception of their minds, which continued to function, had almost entirely lost the ability to move their bodies.

This was an incredibly terrifying experience, one even more capable of shattering a person's will than paralysis.

And in this environment, the only ones who could remain active were those very Reincarnators, clad in their outlandish attire, as perceived by the ordinary inhabitants of Water Blue Star.

“This is the Main God’s might!” Many low-tier Reincarnators who had already landed on Water Blue Star were utterly awed by this power that had so completely enveloped the entire planet.

It was a divine miracle far beyond the grasp of mortals, the very source that had brought the entire planet to a standstill.

The amber-colored radiance, like a time capsule, brought everything to a halt.

“Is our resistance... truly meaningful?” Meanwhile, the high-tier Reincarnators had an entirely different mindset.

They were six-star (Six Tiers) existences at the apex of the Reincarnators, and their rebellious thoughts grew more fervent by the day. Often, instead of thinking about how to complete missions, they pondered how to escape the Main God’s control and rebel against that darned thing.

But after witnessing the Main God’s move today, a trace of despair couldn’t help but arise deep within their hearts.

The power to instantly freeze an entire planet was simply not something human strength could resist.

Including the Federation personnel who came this time, most were trembling with fear. The logistics staff remaining on Water Blue Star’s surface were even more thoroughly permeated by the amber-yellow light, rendering their entire bodies immobile.

After all, the Fusion Star Cannon Blazing Sun, capable of obliterating a star with a single shot, hadn’t had its power witnessed by anyone for nearly fifty years.

Only Xu Xuanling and a few Six Tiers captains could still remain calm amidst such a spectacular sight.

On Water Blue Star, at this moment, those who could still move, besides the Reincarnators under the Main God’s command, were the Holy Progenitors who were currently establishing a permanent military base.

The white light emanating from their bodies was continuously annihilating with the endless yellow radiance.

“The essence of their existence is being permanently altered.”

Piercing through layers of obstruction, Xu Xuanling saw that the yellow light seeping into the bodies of Water Blue Star’s inhabitants was subtly changing something.

“Imperishable Essence.”

Bai Mo added a few words, somewhat out of the blue.

...

“Try dropping an atomic bomb on the nearest city?”

The Holy Progenitors still remaining at the military base on Water Blue Star suddenly received a strange command from the System.

Looking up at the yellow sky overhead, then down at the continuous streams of yellowish-white mist emanating from their bodies, they pressed the buttons of the nuclear weapons on their person, amidst their inner panic.

After decades of development, humanity had, by this time, popularized the equipment of medium and small nuclear weapons among special forces soldiers. For example, the Federation’s main combat units, each platoon was equipped with individual nuclear weapons boasting a ten-kilometer range and a one-kilometer kill radius.

Purely in terms of destructive power, they were not at all weaker than the full-force outburst of a Fourth Tier superhuman.

“Boom!”

“Boom boom!”

“Boom boom boom!”

One small mushroom cloud after another rose as the bombardment of miniature nuclear bombs from the Land of White soon blew the New York City port into one massive crater after another.

Frantic high-energy rays and shockwaves shot out wildly in all directions, wantonly destroying everything in their path.

A single volley from merely a few dozen people took the lives of over a hundred thousand people within the city.

Xu Xuanling looked with confusion at everything happening on the surface.

She also had an avatar on Water Blue Star, and could clearly perceive that a strange force was invading; in no more than two or three days, this avatar would be scrapped.

Of course, what she was more curious about was that Bai Mo, who had always shown little interest in killing, would today actually order the Holy Progenitors to carry out a nuclear bombardment on a city.

Even by her conservative estimate, those few dozen individuals carrying individual nuclear weapons had caused the deaths of at least over a hundred thousand people.

The intense nuclear reactions immediately attracted all the Reincarnators who had landed on Water Blue Star.

They certainly hadn’t forgotten that their purpose in descending upon this world was to kill all the Main God’s enemies. These individuals, who could not only move under the Main God’s aura but also launch "mushrooms," were precisely the biggest targets for their line of work.

However, the power of the nuclear weapons made many weaker teams hesitate.

As those at the bottom of the Main God Temple’s food chain, they couldn’t afford to redeem high-tier defensive spirit talismans sufficient to resist nuclear explosions, or high-end deflection electromagnetic shields.

Taking a direct hit from a wave of saturation bombing, they probably wouldn’t even leave behind ashes.

...

“It’s starting.” Bai Mo seemed to have anticipated it.

Five minutes after the explosion, a miracle appeared.

As if time were flowing backward, the New York City port, which had been utterly destroyed, leaving only a heavily irradiated wasteland, suddenly became swept by a fierce wind, and countless specks of light danced together with swirling bricks and tiles.

The sky-filling dust completely sealed off the area around the port, preventing anyone from seeing what was happening inside.

And after the wind subsided and the air cleared, everything had surprisingly returned to how it was before the explosion!

The buildings near the port were neat and orderly, the goods on the port were also neat and orderly, and the workers on the port were likewise neat and orderly.

They were alive again!

Or rather, they had never died at all.

Only the empty miniature nuclear missile launchers scattered everywhere proved that the nuclear bombs had indeed been launched just now, and it wasn’t some illusion.

“Should we... do it again?”

Encountering such a strange event, even the well-experienced Holy Progenitors couldn’t help but feel a bit panicked.

Although among the Holy Progenitors, there was a considerable proportion of ghosts from the Soul Realm, this sight, like time reversing, had already surpassed spiritual phenomena in the usual sense.

“Initiate the second round of bombardment.”

The System quickly gave a reply.

Still able to hear the System’s voice, they immediately calmed down considerably.

The new generation of Holy Progenitors had mostly been with the System since birth; it was a part of their lives, and as long as the System was still there, nothing was a problem.

Another fifty miniature nuclear bombs were launched. With the help of guiding devices, they even landed in the exact same spots as last time.

The effects caused by the explosions were also no different.

The same destruction.

The same death.

Finally, the same restoration.

...

Everything happening on Water Blue Star had completely exceeded Xu Xuanling’s expectations; at this moment, perhaps only Bai Mo would believe things were still under control.

“What exactly is happening?” She couldn’t believe this was truly time flowing backward.
