Chapter 451: The Eyes

Still that clear, cold voice, devoid of any emotion, echoed endlessly like a ghost through the communication network.

As soon as the individuals proposed their self-detonation plan, Bai Mo, through the Heavenly Net, had already captured this message targeting him.

The newly formed Void Unit had too little intelligence on their enemies. They simply didn't understand that by now, even without directly mentioning his name, a mere reference could draw his attention.

Of course, this ability had its limits; beyond five hundred kilometers, the sensation would become quite blurry. However, every living entity equipped with the Destiny System was, in essence, his eye, serving as an extension of Bai Mo's perception.

Being in the same battlefield, and as one of the main combat forces, the Void Units were naturally not beyond this range from the mutated beast legions.

As the observation of the first-generation modified bodies was nearly complete, he decided to prematurely conclude this war, whose outcome was already predetermined.

"Impossible! With our speed, there's no way you could have reacted in time!" The leading captain was clearly confident in their absolute speed.

"You don't understand." Bai Mo uttered these four words, then paid them no further heed.

Boom!

The battlefield, momentarily silenced by the ravages of freezing streams of light, suddenly saw the emergence of a white vortex.

On the back of every living mutated creature on the battlefield, a faint, colorless thread appeared.

One end of these thin, willow catkin-like threads connected to the lifeforms on the ground, while the other end soared towards the sky, drifting into the vortex above like myriad rivers flowing into the ocean.

As the "willow catkins" increased, a profound blackness gradually emerged at the center of the white vortex, looking up from the ground, it was no different from a colossal eye.

The "Heavenly Eye" gazed down emotionlessly upon all life, its black pupil exuding an invisible pressure that left everyone breathless.

Simultaneously, a wide-ranging psionic field manifested. One, spiritually, and the other, physically, oppressed everything capable of movement in the vicinity.

Every person present, even to take a single step forward or draw a deep breath, had to overcome immense resistance.

"We still have a chance to stop him, as long as we destroy that eye!"

Despite facing such adversity, many battle-hardened soldiers were still able to withstand the dual psychological and physiological pressure, calmly strategizing a countermeasure.

After more than ten years of relentless struggle against the Sea Race, most warriors who had survived to this point possessed a sufficiently strong will, allowing them to endure in battle until life's end.

However, Bai Mo clearly wouldn't grant them such an opportunity. In the very next instant, endless white light surged forth from the "Heavenly Eye," directly engulfing an area spanning a thousand li.

All attacks launched from the ground towards the sky were submerged in an ocean of light.

After sweeping away all attacks, the light rapidly expanded outwards.

The moment the white light reached their bodies, many soldiers closed their eyes, quietly awaiting their final moment, only to find that it simply passed straight through them, continuing its journey into the distance.

"An earthquake?!"

Just as the Yamato army on the ground believed this round of attacks had concluded, a slight tremor emanating from the horizon where sea met sky caught their attention.

As a nation frequently facing earthquakes, their first reaction was that a regular guest had conveniently arrived at this moment, perhaps even one they could exploit.

But then, a roar from the communication network utterly shattered the command center's illusions.

"Tsunami! Special alert, a peculiar, Yamato-encircling tsunami has appeared! Everyone across the nation, evacuate to higher ground immediately!"

The Kyoto command center, monitoring the surrounding situation via satellite, discovered something terrifying—a coastline stretching for thousands of kilometers was entirely engulfed by towering waves several dozens of stories high!

A boundless, giant net of tsunami waves was tightening at a speed of dozens of meters per second, as if to neatly package up the entirety of Yamato.

They urgently broadcasted to the entire nation, urging citizens to immediately leave low-lying areas.

The troops on the battlefield also received this notification, but could only struggle slowly within the wide-ranging psionic field.

"An eye for an eye, blood for blood!"

Gazing at the white line on the distant horizon, the Void Units, who had been relentlessly attacking the vortex in the sky with little effect, could no longer suppress the rage in their hearts and turned to charge eastward.

Since he intended to annihilate Yamato in such a cruel manner, they too would drag more people from the Land of White down to perish with them!

"He definitely won't react in time! If we can break through, we can avenge everyone!"

"You can use floods to destroy a nation; we can use extreme cold to destroy cities!"

Upon hearing the news of the tsunami, the Void Units' eyes turned red with fury. They planned to leverage their peerless speed to directly infiltrate the major cities within the Land of White and carry out indiscriminate slaughter, avenging their soon-to-be-dead compatriots.

Yamamoto, standing at the center of the main formation, was far calmer than the Void Units. He gazed at the surging giant waves from the coast, recalling his experience of facing a tsunami over a decade ago.

"I remember he was standing to my left back then." He inexplicably recalled this detail, then looked up at the eye in the sky, a thoughtful expression on his face.

He was now hundreds of times stronger than he had been then. The tsunami hadn't been able to do anything to him back then; now, it couldn't even shake him in the slightest.

However, while he could easily protect himself, and even protect a city, protecting the entirety of Yamato still felt like trying to put out a forest fire with a cup of water.

The lowest combat strength participating in this war was at the Third Tier. Protected by their Life Fields, as long as they weren't too unlucky, they wouldn't perish in the tsunami—provided it was a normal tsunami.

But listening to the deafening roar from afar, looking at the gray and utterly oppressive sky after the white light, and that omnipresent "Heavenly Eye" surveying everything from high above, no one could remain undisturbed, their hearts like still water.

"You too, shall remain." When the Void Units conceived the idea of an eye for an eye, Bai Mo's voice once again appeared in their communication network.

"Xuanhua Myriad Forms." An imperceptible ripple swept past, and before the Void Units could even react, they were all trapped by Bai Mo's Xuanhua, which had transformed into ripples.

"You can't trap us either!" Deep within the boundless Xuanhua ripples, the Void Units furiously attacked everything that impeded them, using their bodies of ultra-low temperature light streams to wear down Bai Mo's Xuanhua.

"With your power, it would take a month to completely deplete this projection of mine. But without an external energy source, condensed matter cannot exist stably for more than a minute."

"How could this be!" Bai Mo's calm reply filled them with a sense of despair.

"Beautiful aurora."

From the moment of his arrival, he had observed several continuous streams of high-frequency microwave energy transmission, invisible to ordinary people, emanating from Kyoto, constantly supplying the energy needed for these Void Units to maintain their stable existence.

It was these colorful energy streams, as he perceived them, that constantly marked the Void Units' presence for Bai Mo.
