Chapter 289: Crossroads of Destiny

"I'll wait for you for fifty years," Bai Mo said with a smile, gazing up at the starry sky.

He then set Ramdo's remains aside, turned around, and prepared to deal with the last matter in this plan.

"Your potential is infinite, what a pity, the time left for you is truly too little." He activated another fallback left on Ying Huo's body, and it burst into flames once more.

Ramdo's Divine Rage Flame had just extinguished, and it hadn't had time to regenerate the burned parts, when now another strange white flame began to burn fiercely on the remaining parts.

Ying Huo was extremely unwilling; just by a hair's breadth, six of the eight seals placed upon it had already been undone. If it could undo all the restraints, it would definitely still have the strength to fight, but one could only blame Bai Mo for being too cautious, sparing no expense to prepare eight layers of insurance, front and back.

Unlike last time, this time Bai Mo had no intention of refining it into a wooden core again, but instead adopted another method to reap his rewards.

Seizing the opportunity, he detonated the starlight hidden within its body, suppressing Ying Huo's last shred of resistance.

Standing in the center of the city, endless white light surged from his body, beginning to resonate with the white flames. The white light continuously permeated every corner of the massive tree body, evidently intending to refine this divine tree, which possessed a heaven-defying devouring ability, into his avatar!

According to the original plan, the white flame was primarily responsible for removing all the combat tissues of little significance from Ying Huo's body, leaving behind only an incomparably powerful mind-parallel network and the ability to devour thoughts and memories.

As the top combat power on this planet, his avatar didn't need those unnecessary armaments. What Bai Mo needed was just a brain with a million-thought level, and one that could continuously expand through devouring.

Enveloped by the white light that illuminated the entire sky, Ying Huo slowly began to lose consciousness. In its confusion, it seemed to see the most beautiful thing. Its instinct told it that as long as it emptied its mind, followed its true heart, and merged into a part of the white light, it would reach an eternal heaven, free from pain.

The warm light brought no pain at all; instead, it was like the gentlest song, soothing all the hatred and unwillingness in its heart, allowing it to let go of everything.

But when Bai Mo took out the Super Soul Crystal obtained from another version of himself, preparing to complete the final step of creating his avatar, his precognitive ability, which hadn't appeared for quite some time, arrived unexpectedly.

The future suddenly presented a bifurcation point: on one side, he continued with his current plan, refining the divine tree into his avatar, and eventually embarking on a path of devouring stars through endless battles. On the other side, was a patch of darkness representing the unknown, where nothing related to the future could be seen at all.

He had a slight suspicion that this was also a hidden move left behind by the Man of Light back then; otherwise, the precognitive future of devouring all of humanity and transforming into a single-person civilization's super-life couldn't possibly be this clear. This was likely what his parallel-world self had experienced after this bifurcation.

"I want another future."

After thinking for a while, he still decided to choose a new direction. Compared to a timeline whose general outline was already known, Bai Mo preferred a completely unknown future. At his current level, he no longer needed to do boring things like reincarnating to seize others' opportunities; he himself represented countless opportunities.

For this vast plan, Bai Mo had prepared contingency plans for most of the possible accidents and could make changes at any time.

He withdrew the sky-filling white light and the Soul Crystal in his hand. Instead, he only controlled the white flames, and then continuously influenced the apple tree before him with the power within his body.

Under his power, this monstrously massive apple tree miraculously grew a flower bud from its main trunk. As the white flames burned the other parts of the tree body, the bud gradually grew plump, finally blossoming into a peculiar flower on the branch.

The reason it was peculiar was that, unlike ordinary pink apple blossoms, its five petals each had a different color.

However, Bai Mo didn't care about this; he continued to output his power, making the flower rapidly complete its life cycle...

Above the flower, the initial shape of an apple slowly appeared, its dark golden surface demonstrating its vast difference from ordinary apples. As it grew and matured, Ying Huo's other branches began to rapidly wither. Most of the nutrients, under Bai Mo's guidance, were compressed into this apple.

Ying Huo, which had stopped just before merging into the white light, took quite some time to recover its senses, realizing it was still alive. However, at this moment, it could only watch its enemy pour almost all of its power into the Golden Apple that had formed on its body.

After sensing that this peculiar apple, radiating dark golden light on the tree, was fully mature, Bai Mo plucked it.

The moment the apple was plucked, Ying Huo felt as if the entire world had left it, and the power that had always sustained it ceased to exist at this moment; everything became hollow.

"May you forever love and kill each other with Ramdo's inheritors." Bai Mo released his terrifying psychic power, tearing the already flickering Ying Huo, like a candle in the wind, into fragments and scattering them casually across various parts of the planet.

"I curse that whoever eats the Golden Apple shall eventually become an enemy of the world!" In the moment before it was torn to shreds, Ying Huo used its remaining power to cast such an invisible curse.

"What's the point?" He held the Golden Apple in his hand, letting Ying Huo's fragments drift far, far away with his power...

Perhaps a very small portion of these fragments would take root again, beginning their new era as a Golden Apple tree, while others would remain buried forever in certain corners of this world until they completely decayed.

The rest would likely become fortuitous encounters for certain ordinary people, drawing them into conflicts with Ramdo's inheritors, continuing this hatred that could potentially stretch for countless years.

After all, Ying Huo truly had the potential to become a World Tree-level existence; even a tiny fragment of it was a kind of heavenly material and earthly treasure, just like the legendary fragments of the Tongtian Jianmu (Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree), it would also possess endless possibilities.

However, none of this concerned Bai Mo anymore; his attention was entirely on the apple.

This apple of his, or rather, calling it a Wisdom Golden Apple, would also be no problem. Even if an ordinary person were to eat it now, they could at least reach the thousand-thought level, capable of thinking hundreds or thousands of things simultaneously.

It was just that their bodies absolutely couldn't withstand such consumption, and their brains would burn out within seconds. Unless someone specifically prepared a seal before consumption, allowing the Golden Apple's power to be slowly released as the consumer's level increased.

And now, the only Golden Apple was in Bai Mo's hand; he didn't need to worry about the issue of physical burden at all. Waiting for Ying Huo's descendants to take root and sprout, growing new generations of Golden Apples, and for some person of profound Qi Luck to discover and eat one, would be a matter of at least several decades later.
