Chapter 168: Light of the Heavenly Tilt

Given that both parties possessed overlapping memories and nearly identical thought structures, no matter how strange the light figure's expressed concepts were, Bai Mo could grasp them instantly, without a shred of confusion.

"There is no Luo Yi, no reincarnator; it was merely a time-traveling message in a bottle, its sole purpose to find you. The memories were simply a segment I arbitrarily adapted from that period on Earth. Why did that personality hate you so much? Because I knew that by directing his sole object of hatred towards you, he would swiftly meet you."

The Bai Mo from the parallel world had, in the end, made some errors in his estimation of Luo Yi's meeting time with this world's version of himself. However, this did not affect his grand scheme; with his abilities, contingency plans had already been prepared for all possible discrepancies.

"So it carried a fragment of my own memories. No wonder it could create Spirit Arts like psionic clones." The long-standing mystery that had perplexed Bai Mo regarding the source of Luo Yi's terrifying creativity in Spirit Arts was now completely resolved.

"The waters behind the spirit-particles are incredibly deep; it must be a corner of some great being's plan. Try not to disturb such an existence. Of course, it's also possible that he's already aware but disdains bothering with small fry like me."

"I only have a faint inkling even now. You must be extremely careful when researching." For the sake of this world's Bai Mo's safety, the light figure did not reveal any of its discoveries regarding the true nature of spirit-particles.

"My time is almost up. As a final gesture, I'll give you a small gift."

"Light!" The light figure extended a hand, silently murmured a single word, and then thirty rays of light shot forth from its back, ultimately weaving into a vast net that enveloped the entire world.

"Has the final judgment arrived?" This was the thought in the hearts of the devout kneeling on the ground. "I hope I can reach the Heavenly Kingdom promised by the Lord."

The colossal net woven from light slowly descended. If anyone could simultaneously observe the entire surface of Earth, they would discover that each ray of light was precisely aimed at a Ghost King entrenched within a city.

"Reporting, Mr. President. Based on satellite observations, it can be broadly deduced that these rays of light are targeting the monsters occupying the ruins of major cities."

"As long as it's not the end of the world..." Joseph Lee ran his index finger across his forehead, lightly wiping away the fine beads of sweat from his temples.

The thirty monsters continuously shrieked with ultrasonic roars beyond the range of human hearing, attempting to resist the Light of the Heavenly Tilt gathering above their heads. But all resistance was futile, like ants trying to fight off the finger pressing down to crush them.

These "ants," capable of withstanding the explosion of a dozen nuclear bombs, were completely dissolved by the light from the colossal net within half a second, leaving behind only their core light spheres and a scattering of blue dust that dissipated with the wind.

"You would have obtained them sooner or later anyway, so I'll just give them to you in advance," the light figure said, crushing the thirty light spheres into a single crystal with one hand and lightly tossing it to Bai Mo.

After completing its final task, the light figure began to continuously dissipate.

"This light figure is merely a program. I believe you also understand perfectly well that neither you nor I could ever tolerate any avatar with self-awareness or independent consciousness. We are the sole existence."

"This world is far too vast; everything is but a drop in the ocean. But that's good too; as long as there are always unknowns, there will always be a fresh sense of excitement."

"If you ever get a chance to meet Di'ao, say hello for me."

"An envelope loses its meaning once the letter is delivered to its recipient."

The light enveloping Earth continuously receded, and the light figure finally vanished into thin air, taking with it the existence named Luo Yi.

The oppressive presence that had lorded over all living beings receded with its disappearance, and everyone was freed from that invisible shackle. Bai Mo gazed at the crystal in his hand, inexplicably feeling that the way he ultimately utilized this crystal would, to some extent, determine the direction of the world.

"What just happened?"

"Why did I suddenly pass out?"

"I remember something appeared, and then everything went black, and I lost consciousness."

The people on site gradually regained consciousness, each beginning to ponder what had truly occurred. After the light figure vanished, people across the world frantically searched for anything that might be related to it, but all truly pertinent information had already been erased.

Under its influence, satellites from various nations could only capture the scene of it using endless light to annihilate monsters across different regions. Everything that transpired at the venue was not recorded in any form. They only knew that a god-like entity had once existed.

"My ability can record everything that happened in the surrounding hour!" A young man eager to show off in front of the crowd shouted, voluntarily exposing his power in an attempt to gain widespread attention.

"Project!" He pointed a finger, intending to project past scenes with his ability as he usually would.

"Even a fragment of the record he left behind possesses such world-shaking power. Only a death-seeking fool would dare attempt to re-enact it." From a distance, Bai Mo, observing, did not believe that 'he' would leave behind such a loophole.

Just like the Bai Mo from the parallel world, he had never once felt that entity was identical to himself. He, too, referred to his parallel-world counterpart as 'he'; 'he' was merely a fellow Daoist, someone he could completely understand.

"Bang!" Sure enough, the young man had barely reproduced a single image, re-manifesting the other party's instantaneous Aura, when his body exploded into a mist of blood due to the backlash, splattering those nearby and sending them scrambling to dodge in terror.

...

"Phew, it's finally gone. Good thing it just regarded us as dust," thought the brain bug from the deep sea, having recovered from the oppressive aura.

"Killing those dozens of monsters on land was as simple as crushing ants. Where did such a terrifying existence come from? How could a technologically unsophisticated civilization possibly birth such a being? Could this planet's history be far more complex than it appears?" This incident led the brain bug to engage in all sorts of wild conjecture, which in turn made its future plans even more cautious.

After the chaos subsided, the people at the arena only then realized that Luo Yi, the newly crowned champion of the competition, had completely vanished. Coupled with the fact that the events had occurred precisely after Luo Yi ascended the stage, numerous speculations immediately arose in everyone's minds, but this was destined to be a cold case.

Under these circumstances, the award ceremony could only be hastily concluded, leaving people all over the world with endless topics for discussion, and of course, stimulating many to further crave power.

"My mightiest angel has returned to the Heavenly Kingdom..." After the light figure dissipated, Ramdo, who had been beaten back to his original form, quickly began to rally faith once more. With the support of a core group and some high-ranking members of the One-Wheel Cult, he regained about half of his original faith, restoring half of his power compared to his peak.

As for the remaining believers, after this incident, they firmly believed that Ramdo was merely a deceiver, a heretic, and that only the light figure that had existed that day was the true incarnation of the One-Wheel God.

Consequently, with the support of another faction of high-ranking members, the One-Wheel Cult officially split into two branches: the Original Faction, which considered Ramdo a heretic; and the Primary Faction, which believed him to be the incarnation of the One-Wheel God.

The One-Wheel Cult, which had originally held the upper hand in its struggle against the Luminous Holy Church, was instantly weakened to only half of its former combat strength. Moreover, with its internal schism, the accumulated advantages rapidly vanished, and the frontline instantly became critical..
