Chapter 223-1: Monster Legion Challenge (1) |
After the weapon system went online, a large number of players participated in evaluations, and strategy posts kept emerging on the forum.
But quite a few players were still waiting for Darkness Approaches’ evaluation strategy post.
This had already become a habit for many veteran players every time a new function went online: wait for Darkness Approaches to release a guide, then use the new function according to the guide’s content to avoid wasting sacrificial power or mismatching.
Five hours after the weapon system went online, Darkness Approaches’ evaluation strategy post finally appeared on the forum.
It then shot up to the forum heat ranking like a rocket.
[Thanks for waiting. I tested a bit longer to figure out the new function. Come straight in for a detailed interpretation of the update content.]
Poster: Darkness Approaches
Content:
No nonsense, straight to the goods.
Namely the primary material and the weapon’s enchantment particles.
Among them, the trait effects carried by the weapon’s primary material cannot be changed once the choice is made.
For example, if the primary material you choose is Ghoststeel, then weapon enhancement upgrades can only raise the bonus on reducing mental power consumption, and you cannot fuse attributes carried by other primary materials.
Enchantment particles can be understood as the weapon’s extra enhancement components.
Every time you upgrade the weapon body, you can fuse more enchantment particles, and the effects of enchantment particles can be stacked without limit.
Assume your weapon is level 100. You can have 506 enchantment slots (initially 11 slots). If you fill them all with Armor-Breaking Particles, you can obtain a penetration build weapon with an armor-breaking effect reaching a value of 2530.
So strengthening the weapon system can be divided into two parts: primary strengthening and enchantment strengthening.
But that is not the focus.
The focus is that enchantment particles can be combined in different ways to produce resonance trait effects.
Next, I will show the resonance effects I tested.
Corrosion Particle (15+) + Ruin Particle (20+) + Darkness Particle (15+) = Touch of Decay (resonance trait)
The effect of this enchantment combination is that, on top of the original damage performance of the enchantment traits, it can cause a decomposition effect on matter it comes into contact with.
When I used a weapon with Touch of Decay resonance to make contact with the dummy’s weapon in the simulation scene, I found that its weapon was quickly dissolved (video attachment).
Bloodthirst Particle (37+) + Venomous Particle (35+) = Blood Toxin Symbiosis (resonance trait)
Resonance effect: After causing damage, the Bloodthirst Particle absorbs the target’s life energy, and the Venomous Particle converts part of the energy into toxins fed back to the target. Each attack will absorb a small amount of life while injecting toxins into the target to deal extra damage.
Strong Elemental Resonance: 12 types of elemental energy, with each type’s enchantment particles reaching 35+.
Resonance effect: All enchanted elemental damage effects gain a tenfold increase.
Flame Particle (10) + Gale Particle (5) = Blazing Flame Storm (resonance effect)
Resonance effect: The high temperature of the Flame Particle combined with the wind-pressure field of the Gale Particle causes a blazing flame whirlwind when the weapon attacks. Each attack deals flame damage to the target and surrounding enemies, and the whirlwind’s range expands as attack speed increases.

In this test I combined a total of 39 resonance effects.
The various combination pairings of enchantment particles are very interesting. I got so into it I almost forgot to post the evaluation guide.
The most interesting are many functional enchantment resonances.
For example, Tenacity Particle + Gale Particle + Freedom Particle = Spirit wind Shield (weapon resonance)
Taking a shield as an example, the resonance effect of Spirit wind Shield is to form an airflow barrier on the shield’s surface using a wind-pressure field, which can deflect ranged attacks and reduce melee impact, while the shield’s weight is very light and does not affect the user’s movement speed.
This set of resonance traits is very suitable for lone-wolf spellcaster players, equivalent to carrying a tank player’s protection.
One point must be mentioned here: the most critical particle among all particles is the Infusion Particle.
It allows players to input their vitality and mental power into the weapon and release it combined with the weapon’s traits.
For example, my Inkflame fireball can carry multiple elemental enchantment particle damage.
The above is the preliminary guide of this evaluation. If I discover anything new later I will continue to add explanations in the post.
It can be confirmed that the combinations of weapon resonance are far more than the 39 I tested. Other playstyles remain to be developed. I suggest everyone try it. It is very fun.
Comments:
Jasmine Milk Green: The weapon system is very interesting. I saw the previous brother’s guide. Fusing Freedom Particles into the weapon body allows changing the weapon shape at any time. That’s awesome. You can switch to whatever weapon shape you want anytime.
Extra Spicy Sea Noodles: I tested a very awesome enchantment particle combination.. the resonance effect is ‘Dance of Light and Darkness.’ During damage output, one strike is a light-attribute attack and the next strike is a dark-attribute attack. After the opponent suffers two opposing attribute damages, they will also suffer elemental conflict damage. The damage output effect explodes. For melee, you can become a magic warrior without wasting star vein slots.
Antarctic Bear Who Wants to Go to the Arctic: Everything is good, it’s just that the weapons are so expensive, and the upgrade cost is also expensive, especially the Space Particle. A single one is thirty thousand sacrificial power. Why not just rob us. I feel the weapon system is more suitable for those who have already opened many star vein slots and temporarily do not have the sacrificial power to open new ones, so they can continue to improve their strength through the weapon system.
At Eighteen My Pee Was Higher Than the Sky: I’ve decided, I’m going to make a war hammer weapon that makes the enemy think at a glance that I am a Berserker and not dare to come close, but actually I am a mage. Maximum confusion. From now on I will be the server’s first War Hammer Spell God.
Lan Qiu Twenty-Seven: The weapon system is so complicated. Why not give me an enchantment resonance compendium to choose from. My brain cells are almost burned out. I’ll wait for the forum strategy masters to release detailed templates. Lazy people like me are suited to copying ready-made templates. I can’t research at all. I’ve already stockpiled thirty thousand sacrificial power and plan to spend it all at once on the weapon system. I want to forge a meta artifact.

The weapon system’s popularity kept fermenting on the forum.
Various pairing combinations of enchantment particles emerged one after another. Players of different schools of thought were all discussing ways to combine weapon enchantments and the choice of primary materials.
On the other side, in the Weapon Forging Room space.
After posting his guide analysis, Darkness Approaches summoned the event interface.
After the weapon system went online, a Weapon Forging Tournament event also went online with it.
The event was divided into three leaderboards.
They were the Repel Board, the Guardian Board, and the Function Board.
Getting onto the board was simple: use the forged weapon you made yourself to guard the village in a virtual scene.
There would be wave after wave of monsters attacking, and the monsters’ strength would keep increasing as time passed.
Each time you repelled a wave of monster attacks, you would enter the challenge of the next wave of monsters.
At this time, the player ranked first on the Repel Board showed data of 7 waves and 87.8 percent.
In other words, the current first-place player failed to guard the village in the seventh wave of monster attacks.
The Guardian Board’s ranking method was different. The monsters’ attacks would be directed at the player, and the ranking would be based on damage bearing values.
The player in first place had a damage bearing data of 192,423 points.
The Function Board was yet another new playstyle.
Players needed to fight side by side with an army to guard the village. During this period, players had to use weapon traits to assist the army’s warriors, with rankings based on contribution points.
There were three ways to obtain contribution points.
Players needed to use weapon traits to provide teammates with healing, damage mitigation, status boosts, and other non-direct-combat methods.
Damage output could not count toward contribution points, and the challenge ended when all friendly forces were wiped out.
The attributes of player characters in the event were the same and could not be modified.
The weapon level was set at level 100, and the enchantment particles fused into the weapon could not exceed one million sacrificial power.
Each player in the top one hundred of each leaderboard could receive event rewards.
Among them, the top three players on each leaderboard could obtain a Weapon Forging Voucher worth thirty thousand sacrificial power, which could be directly used as a deduction in the forging room.
Players in other rankings would receive the same reward of ten thousand sacrificial power.
Through the event page he switched scenes.
After a brief feeling of weightlessness, what appeared before Darkness Approaches was a vast wasteland, with no greenery in sight, only parched and cracked land.
Behind him was a small village, and he stood at the village exit.
Immediately the challenge panel floated in front of him, with the saved weapon templates from the forging room below.
Among the 39 saved templates, he chose the Blazing Path resonance with the highest damage output, with the weapon set at level 100.
Before joining the event, he had already adjusted the number of enchantment particles.
The weapon shape was still a gauntlet.
But just as he clicked confirm, a Challenger Notification popped up in his mind:
[Challenger Notification: This weapon template has already been used. Please switch to a weapon template that has not been used in the challenge event.]
(Note: In this challenge, the player who first uses a weapon resonance will bind the resonance trait, which cannot be used by other players and is limited to the event space.)
“Damn.”
