Chapter 80-2: Gene Modification Division (2) |
Half an hour later, the forum began refreshing with reviews for the new Primordial soul imprint ‘Extraction.’
The most viewed was the review post by the player Endless Night.
[Stop rushing me. Here’s the initial review.]

Before we get started, let me preface this review with a note: This evaluation is for reference only. If you have different opinions, feel free to discuss, but no foul language allowed in the comments.
Now, let’s get to it.
I can clearly tell you all, this is the weakest soul imprint of the current version, no contest.
Of course, by ‘weakest’ I mean for now, maybe in the future some compatible soul imprints will appear and make it strong.
Extraction is no different.
Its ability is to extract plant essence.
I ran multiple tests and found it only works on plant-type creatures, and even then, the effect is pitiful.
The test target was a level 10 Ghostwood. Each use of Extraction dealt less damage than a single axe strike from a level 10 Force Savage, utterly useless.
Although Extraction does extract plant energy, it’s meaningless for us.
We can simply sacrifice spirit plants directly to Brother Emperor’s Sign, so why add the extra step of Extraction? It doesn’t even increase sacrificial power gain.
Unless the Monster World releases an Alchemist class in the future, I really don’t see any use for Extraction.
Full test video is posted below. Anyone interested can check it out.
Finally: in its current state, Extraction ranks dead last in combination potential with any soul imprint. It easily takes the top spot on the list of the ten weakest soul imprints.

Scholar of Endless Learning: I got excited when I heard about a new soul imprint being contained, but turns out it’s trash. Back to slaying Evil Entities.
Is This a Beaver: I thought Extraction absorbed target life energy for self-healing. Turns out it just extracts resource essence. After reading your review, Endless Night, I don’t even feel like watching the test video. Confirmed garbage imprint.
Murderous Intent Rising: What I want most now is to get the Invisibility, Godspeed, and Assassinate soul imprints from the Test Tower. Combine that with my Black-Scaled Serpent’s Venomous, and I can finally play the assassin build I’ve dreamed of. Hopefully in my lifetime.
Endless Night (Thread Owner) replied to Murderous Intent Rising: I suggest you focus on pairing with existing soul imprints. Don’t plan for future combinations. This game’s world is enormous. I asked Guide, and it says the Emperor’s Mound Mountain Range we’re exploring is just a tiny corner of Monster World. Clearly, the Lunar Eclipse race intends to operate this game for the long term. There are many soul imprints we may never contain or even encounter in our lifetime. It’ll be up to our descendants.
Game Gold-Farmer replied to Endless Night: Damn, that’s harsh. Once I have money, I’m going to the moon base for a life-extension gene injection.
Super Chicken: More soul imprints keep getting contained, but casters remain king, especially the newly developed Clone Fireball build. It’s brutal. When will melee ever have their day? (God of Wealth clenching fist meme)
Lucky Fortune Emperor: I’m not into melee or ranged. I just want the Shadow Legion build. The thought of growing stronger while lying flat feels amazing.

While players heatedly debated the Extraction soul imprint…
At the exit of Emperor’s Mound Village.
Yang Tianxuan of the Doomsday Technology Guild was testing the power of the fourth-generation psionic firearms.
Building on the foundations of the first three generations, they had made even more detailed modifications and upgrades to the psionic firearm structure.
His gaze swept toward guild members conducting weapon tests not far away.
The tester switched into Bonefire form and retrieved the psionic firearm from his spatial pouch.
Pulling the trigger, the flames on his body continuously fed into the gun.
The muzzle fired bullets wreathed in black flames, igniting the nearby blood corpse. The exploding rounds inflicted wave after wave of sustained damage, preventing the blood corpse from closing in.
Two minutes later, the blood corpse went completely still, leaving behind only a charred husk on the ground.
The All-Extraction System within the Challenger System then activated, extracting the destabilized blood corpse into a cloud of gray mist that floated toward the player who landed the killing blow.
“Director Yang, the initial tests look good. But in Bonefire form, the weapon suffers continuous heat damage. Its durability depletes quickly.”
“No problem. The Bonefire ability can be used in human form too. Once players improve their body tempering level, they won’t need to stay in Bonefire form permanently. This won’t be an issue.”
Saying this, Yang Tianxuan turned to the other testers.
The biggest advancement of the fourth-generation psionic firearm compared to earlier versions was its ability to integrate with soul imprint abilities.
For example, the fire generated by Bonefire form could be infused into the gun, merging with energy provided by spirit stones to form Inkflame bullets inside, showing excellent performance in initial tests.
In the future, once other elemental attack soul imprints are contained, they too can be paired with the fourth-generation psionic firearms to bombard targets with sustained elemental damage.
At that moment, a notification popped up in Yang Tianxuan’s mind, an incoming video call.
Upon connection, a light screen appeared before him. On the screen was a man with slicked-back hair, slightly graying, his face surrounded by a thick beard.
“Little Ye, what’s up?” Yang Tianxuan asked curiously.
The man on screen was Cheng Ye, a team leader in their Weapons Development Division.
After joining the game and creating the Doomsday Technology Guild, Cheng Ye chose a completely different path from them, embedding all melee-type soul imprints in his Star Veins.
His goal was likewise for weapons development.
Recently, they had begun constructing a simple furnace for refining spiritual ores. Their research staff, lacking any physical strength, couldn’t handle the task, they needed strength-type players to manually assemble the furnace.
Cheng Ye had taken on the role of a mechanical engineer, responsible for manufacturing, repairs, and grunt work.
The latest batch of measurement tools had also been completed under his supervision.
In response to the inquiry, a smile appeared on Cheng Ye’s face within the light screen.
“Boss, did you see the latest soul imprint review post on the forum?”
“You mean the Extraction soul imprint that just got announced?” Yang Tianxuan asked curiously.
“Yes, that Extraction soul imprint. Go check the forum…”
Ending the call, Yang Tianxuan remained curious, not quite understanding what Cheng Ye was trying to imply.
But he decisively summoned his function panel and opened the forum page.
Scanning the trending list, he quickly located Endless Night’s review post.
As he read through the content, Yang Tianxuan’s expression gradually shifted.
