Chapter 77-3: Clone Gameplay Black Tide Enhancement (3)

In the days of fighting against the Black Tide Legion, Qi Sheng had discovered that the strength of the Black Tide had changed.

During the initial outbreak led by the Evil Spirit Dinian, the evil entities birthed within the Black Tide generally ranged from level 1 to 3, with Guide calculating the average level at 2.

For veteran players, fighting Black Tide evil entities was simply a satisfying mowing-down experience.

Even newbie players could hold their own against the Black Tide’s evil entities, and as their levels rose, they handled them with ease. The only threat posed by the Black Tide was overwhelming numbers.

After six days of development, the Black Tide had devoured the spirit plants and monsters of the Emperor’s Mound Mountain Range, significantly increasing its strength.

Especially a day ago, when the Black Tide successfully occupied the Territory Node Cloud Field deep within the Gray Mist Forest, its strength saw a massive surge.

The energy stored within the corrosion core was completely consumed by the Black Tide, raising the average hunt level of the Black Tide evil entities from level 2 to level 4.

This was one of the most terrifying aspects of the Black Tide.

In the world illuminated by the Evil Moon, corrosion cores would emerge. They typically clustered in energy-rich areas, especially around Territory Nodes.

These corrosion cores possessed a certain level of intelligence and would attack any lifeforms daring to approach.

But the corrosion cores alone would never resist the power of the Black Tide.

Through Guide’s feedback visuals, Qi Sheng saw the corrosion cores deep within the Gray Mist Forest actively deactivate their defenses upon contact with the Black Tide, merging with its energy and becoming part of it, continuously providing energy support to the Black Tide.

Territory Nodes that required force for the player armies to painfully capture were freely accessed by the Black Tide, instantly absorbing the reserve energy of these nodes.

In a sense, the sole purpose of the corrosion cores’ existence was to await the arrival of the Black Tide and become part of it.

This was one of the reasons why the Black Tide’s strength could grow so rapidly.

At this stage, the newly strengthened Black Tide had birthed three new forms of evil entities.

According to Guide’s analysis, Qi Sheng obtained detailed information on these three newly spawned evil entities.

They were:

[Corrupted Root Fang (Black Tide Evil Entity)]

Hunt Level: 5

Target Description: An aggregation of evil vines, its tentacles covered in spikes, possessing vigorous vitality capable of quickly regenerating damaged parts. It primarily attacks by extending mist-like vine tentacles to bind and restrain targets, while releasing poisonous Black Tide spores to weaken opponents and induce unconsciousness.

[Doll Fiend (Black Tide Evil Entity)]

Hunt Level: 7

Target Description: An evil lifeform birthed within the Black Tide, possessing extremely high attack and movement speed. Upon death, it explodes, dealing corrosion and erosion damage to nearby enemies.

[Mist Serpent (Black Tide Evil Entity)]

Hunt Level: 5

Target Description: A low-tier assassin unit of the Black Tide, with a unique body structure that allows it to freely move through the mist undetected. It can spray toxic mist to entangle and attack targets, causing continuous paralysis and slowing target actions.

These new Black Tide monsters were far stronger than the earlier low-tier evil entities such as Evil Maggots, Evil Hounds, and Demon Fleas.

The first batch of Black Tide evil entities generally lacked combat skills, only able to attack through biting and other basic means, posing limited threat to players.

However, the newly added three types of lower-tier Black Tide evil entities all possessed offensive skills.

Especially the Doll Fiend at hunt level 7. It was like an unstable mobile bomb on the battlefield; once its life structure was disrupted, it would self-destruct.

Quite a few players, unable to dodge in time, were killed by the Doll Fiend’s self-detonation and entered death cooldown.

From the initial invincible mowing-down mode, the difficulty of players combating the Black Tide was rising rapidly, though the rewards increased accordingly.

Through this round of Black Tide expansion, Qi Sheng personally experienced the terrifying growth speed of the Black Tide.

No wonder the Black Tide was able to rampage unchecked in other dimensional worlds, as most worlds’ power systems were unable to counter it.

One could compare an invading Black Tide force to a spark thrown into a forest. It would swiftly spread, devouring everything along its path and converting it into energy to strengthen itself, until it became a raging inferno that consumed the entire world.

Unless that spark was extinguished at the very beginning, the longer it burned, the harder it would be to resist.

And this spark of invasion was merely a minuscule wisp of power within the Black Tide’s vast main structure, which could summon even stronger forces to join the battle at any time.

Thus, even if an ordinary world managed to achieve temporary victories against the Black Tide, they would eventually still become nourishment for it.

Even Monster World was merely one of the countless battlefields opened by the terrifying Black Tide. When Qi Sheng followed Yan Ming to traverse other worlds recruiting challengers, he had seen numerous worlds already corroded by the terrifying Black Tide.

This fully demonstrated the horror of the Black Tide.

However, compared to other worlds, Monster World also possessed its own advantages.

Whether in world structure strength or combat power systems, Monster World was far stronger than those planes that were easily devoured.

The fact that the Black Tide had not yet fully consumed Monster World proved the strength of this world.

This point could also be seen from the conversation between Evil Eye and Dinian.

Evil Eye once shared an intelligence report from another shared node, stating that the Evil Eyes of other nodes believed Monster World’s former Creator Sovereign possessed transcendent power no weaker than their Lord.

Here, ‘Lord’ clearly referred to the mastermind behind the terrifying Black Tide.

Guide had previously expressed a similar view to him.

According to it, if not for the self-dissolution of the Emperor, Monster World’s overall combat strength would have been fully capable of directly opposing the terrifying Black Tide.

This was why the Four Retainers had not chosen to give up, but instead sought to inherit the Emperor’s Sign’s trace of Origin to fight the Black Tide once more.

Without dwelling too long on this issue, Qi Sheng continued rapidly switching between different players’ perspectives, observing their performance within the Black Tide.

I’m curious why the Emperor decided to self-dissolute. Was it for the sake of continuation of the Monster World or something like that.
