Chapter 493: Pokemon master of tactics: Chapter 493

For several minutes, everything continued exactly as before.

Wave after wave of wild Pokémon rushed forward, only to be crushed without resistance. The battlefield had long since turned into a one-sided slaughter.

To Alex, it felt almost… boring.

For several minutes, this continued without interruption.

Then Gardevoir approached Alex with a serious expression. She said calmly, "Father, I sensed the life force of a low Champion-level Pokémon approaching us at high speed. It will be here in about 15 seconds."

Alex was slightly surprised that such a powerful Pokémon was coming his way.

Normally, low Champion-level Pokémon were the ones that triggered a red level Pokémon wave, and Wattson along with his small team of late-elite trainers should have been the first to face it.

He immediately understood that this Pokémon couldn't be the leader of the raid. That thought was unsettling, but he didn't have time to think about it.

Alex reacted instantly. "Scizor, Gardevoir, fall back. Start buffing."

Both Scizor and Gardevoir immediately withdrew from the front line.

"Use Swords Dance and Calm Mind. Don't stop. Ditto transforms into..."

At the same time, Ditto transformed into Gardevoir and also began stacking Calm Mind.

The rest of his Pokémon tightened their formation and continued fighting, holding back the incoming elite Pokémon while protecting the three that were preparing.

Alex wanted two teleporters in case of emergency and if necessary… he could still Mega Evolve Scizor.

But that was something he didn't want to reveal unless it is absolutely unavoidable.

With his current strength, showing that ability would attract too much attention. He would rather retreat and damage his reputation than expose it too early.

He wanted to have at least the equivalent strength of an Elite Four member so that he wouldn't be completely defenseless against the Alliance or powerful evil organizations.

A few seconds later, Alex saw the Pokémon Gardevoir had warned him about.

A Flygon, nearly three meters tall, flew straight into the middle of the wave.

She made a sharp sound toward the surrounding Pokémon, and several of them immediately reacted to her presence.

Then her gaze shifted. Straight toward Alex and his team.

Alex did the same and at the same time, he checked her information.

--------

Pokémon: Flygon

LV: 62

Type: Ground/Dragon

Abilities: Levitate

Gender: Female

Potential: Shallow Diamond (32%)

Moves:

- Bide, Bite, Feint Attack, Sand Attack, Mud-Slap, Bulldoze, Sand Tomb, Rock Slide [E], Dig, Crunch, Earth Power, Feint, Earthquake [M], Dragon Breath, Sandstorm [M], Uproar, Hyper Beam, Dragon Claw [M], Dragon Rush

- (Perfect Talent) Dragon Dance [M], (Perfect Talent) Roost [M],

---------

Alex felt that this level was right at the limit of what he and his Pokémon team could defeat, and for a moment he didn't know whether to run or not.

Especially since this Flygon had two very powerful moves that could become extremely dangerous if he didn't manage to defeat it quickly.

The one good thing was that, besides this Flygon, there were only three low-level elite Pokémon nearby, which he could almost ignore without any real risk.

Combined with the advantage that Ditto, Gardevoir, and Scizor had already buffed themselves multiple times, it shouldn't be a problem to win if everything went according to plan.

Unfortunately, he didn't know if this Pokémon itself was already buffed, and that uncertainty alone made a huge difference in how the fight could unfold.

Alex suddenly had an idea, and although it wasn't without risk, he decided that if it failed, he would retreat immediately without hesitation.

He looked in the Flygon's direction and said loudly, "Hey, we're both about the same strength. There's no reason for us to fight for our lives. Let's talk instead."

The female Flygon looked at Alex for a moment before shifting her gaze toward the Pokémon surrounding him, carefully observing them instead of answering immediately.

Even without exact level numbers, she could roughly estimate their strength, and it was clear to her that he had at least 5 late-elite Pokémon and 5 others that were either close to that level or had already reached it.

In a one-on-one fight, or even against two or three opponents, she wouldn't have any concerns at all, but facing ten opponents that are not weak at once was something she couldn't take lightly.

Furthermore, since she had only come to this human city to find a way to help her mate, there was no real reason to risk everything in a pointless battle.

After a short pause, she responded loudly, her voice carrying across the battlefield, even though Alex couldn't understand a single word she said.

Gardevoir quickly translated it through their psychic connection.

Gardevoir explained calmly,"She said that she has no problem talking, but your Pokémon have to stop buffing while we talk, or she will attack immediately."

Alex gave a small signal without any hesitation, and Scizor, Ditto, and Gardevoir immediately stopped what they were doing.

He then showed a faint, friendly smile and said loudly, "Okay, no problem. Why don't we talk about 30 meters away? Just you, me, and my Pokémon. It'll make things easier."

The Flygon considered his suggestion for a brief moment, but since the weaker Pokémon nearby were completely irrelevant to her, and their presence wouldn't change the outcome of a sudden fight, she didn't see a reason to refuse.

She agreed.

A few seconds later, Alex, his Pokémon, and the Flygon met in the middle of the battlefield, where several defeated Pokémon were lying on the ground.

The sounds of battle became more distant, and although the fighting continued In other places, it can not interfered with their conversation.

Sophie and the others wild Pokemon remained where they were, so that they could no longer hear what was being said.

That was exactly what Alex wanted, because he had no intention of letting Sophie listen to this conversation.

Now standing almost directly in front of the Flygon, Alex looked up at her calmly, showing no fear despite the pressure she gave off.

He said in a steady voice, "Alright, let's talk."
