Chapter 795: The Folly of Accuser Ronan

The Dark Aster.

After returning to his fleet, Accuser Ronan eagerly took possession of the Orb.

A treasure coveted by Thanos and the Collector, he did not believe it was just an ordinary object. A subordinate hurriedly approached, whispering a few words in his ear.

The content was not strictly secret; it merely repeated what Gamora had told Nebula.

When Nebula destroyed Gamora's spacecraft, Gamora, in a moment of desperation, disclosed the truth to Nebula about the true nature of the Orb—it contained a Power Stone, one of the legendary six singularities of the universe, possessing infinite power.

Gamora intended to dissuade Nebula from letting Thanos and Ronan acquire the stone, as it would put the universe at imminent risk.

Unfortunately, Nebula didn't care; her mind was consumed with thoughts of killing her sister.

Others coincidentally intercepted this conversation in the fleet and ultimately reported to their master, Accuser Ronan.

And coincidentally enough...

As an ancient and powerful civilisation, the Kree Empire naturally had records of legends about the Infinity Stones.

Thus, it was reasonable and logical for Accuser Ronan to know about the uses of the Power Stone.

Everything was proceeding according to the Collector's plan.

Ronan toyed with the Orb in his hand, his eyes flickering with an indiscernible glow, secretly making a shocking decision.

A cross-galactic communication projection appeared on the stone wall.

Thanos's face emerged, his eyes filled with malice. Even through the communication device, his presence was oppressive.

Nebula, awakened by her inner fears, bowed her head and trembled when she saw Thanos.

"Have you obtained the Orb?"

Thanos's voice was heavy, tinged with a hint of coercion.

"Yes."

Ronan weighed the metal sphere in his hand and responded expressionlessly: "As we agreed, I have obtained the Orb."

"Good, bring it to me."

Joy flickered in Thanos's eyes, but he quickly masked it.

"That was our agreement."

Ronan's eyes glinted with malice; he sneered: "I helped you get the Orb; you help me destroy Xandar. But now that I know it contains an Infinity Stone, I'm curious: What do I need you for?"

"Boy, you'd better think carefully!"

Thanos's eyes swirled with murderous intent, his voice coming as cold as the dead of winter, laden with threat.

Ronan didn't respond; instead, he twisted open the Orb and grasped the purple stone within.

A surge of overwhelming power instantly flowed into him, purple light bursting forth. The space nearby rippled with intimidating waves of force as Ronan roared skyward, pressing the stone into his universal weapon.

Clang!

The Warhammer, embedded with the Power Stone, locked all the energy within.

And Ronan, wielding the universal weapon, was marked by eerie purple patterns all over his body. His breath alone caused ripples in the surrounding space, and a mere glance was enough to shatter Nebula's body.

"Now, I am a god!"

Ronan bellowed, lifting his Warhammer, his sinister gaze fixed on Thanos, and laughed maliciously: "After I deal with Xandar, you're next, Thanos!"

Thanos watched him coldly, then shut off the communication projection.

With his newfound power, Ronan felt an unprecedented strength, as if he could destroy an entire warship with a single finger.

This reminded him of the greatest traitor of the Kree Empire decades ago.

With his power, he had crashed a warship, causing Ronan to lose face before the Supreme Intelligence and nearly stripping him of his title as Accuser.

"So this is what it feels like..."

Ronan's eyes filled with cruel intent, his murderous intent clear: "After I've annihilated Xandar and Thanos, you're next... damned Captain Marvel!"

In an unknown star field.

A massive cosmic warship named the Dark Sanctuary and thousands of smaller vessels were stationed.

The Black Order, usually stationed here, suddenly received orders from their master to rush to the Andromeda galaxy at all costs to destroy Xandar and the Kree Accuser Ronan and retrieve the Power Stone.

...

...

...

Xandar, the capital of the Nova Empire.

Located in the most luxurious district of the city, a towering spire stood hundreds of meters off the ground.

In the capital of Xandar, only a few were privileged enough to enter this spire to enjoy the finest cuisines and services and view Xandar's most beautiful scenery through the 360-degree panoramic windows.

And at the very top of this spire, service was offered only once a day, exclusively for invited dignitaries.

The only requirement for entry was an invitation personally penned by the Queen of Xandar.

These invitations were typically extended to heirs or rulers of other star systems, making it a venue for high-level diplomatic and social gatherings.

However, today, it welcomed two special guests.

A handsome man and a gentlewoman arrived hand in hand. He was radiant as the stars, and she was as divine as a celestial being.

They held an invitation from the Queen, once given to Thor, the new King of Asgard.

After confirming with the Queen, the restaurant served the couple with the highest protocol.

"Didn't expect you had a backup plan."

Mun Flower sat at the table's edge, resting her cheek in her hand, her beauty glowing in the twilight, her eyes forming crescents as she softly chuckled: "I was almost ready to sleep on the streets."

"You underestimate me."

Lord's mood was quite good as he joked: "Besides, I would never let you sleep on the streets."

"That line is better suited for fooling little girls."

Mun Flower rolled her eyes and sipped from a glass filled with purple bubbles before adding softly: "Knowing you, Lord, you must have other reasons for bringing me here. Am I right?"

"Let me show you a good show."

Lord smiled casually and looked at the sea of clouds: "If all goes well, it should start soon."

"It seems, Lord, you have found what you were looking for." Mun Flower turned to look at the cloud-covered landscape, a hint of sadness in her voice: "I'm a little disappointed that we have to go back so soon."

Watching Mun Flower's slight disappointment, Lord blurted out: "If you like, I can stay with you for a few more days."

Mun Flower turned back, staring at Lord with a startled expression, her ears faintly blushing.

With those dark eyes fixed on her, Lord's heart skipped a beat, overwhelmed by an inexplicable feeling, as if being drawn into those eyes, lost in the unique atmosphere.

The two gazed at each other for a long time, silent yet comfortable.

Boom!

A sudden loud noise interrupted them.

As if electrified, Mun Flower quickly looked away, no longer daring to gaze at Lord.

Outside the tower, among the layers of clouds, warships rose, shining like stars strewn across the clouds, their target a twisted, angel-wing-like black warship.

"This is what you wanted to show me?"

Mun Flower looked at Lord, somewhat speechless for a moment.

"Yeah, great, isn't it?"

Unaware of her dismay, Lord added: "A real-life Star Wars, something money can't buy."

Mun Flower sighed and supported her forehead. She had momentarily thought it might be some 'romantic' surprise.

It seemed she had overestimated Lord's sense of romance.
